We were 2 couples. Early Saturday afternoon we made reservations for 6:30pm. We arrived about…read more6:20pm and we were seated right away in one of their booths. The decor is pretty low rate. The whole restaurant desperately needs an update. The restrooms are only for one person at a time. This causes some major lines. But the service and food quality makes up for all of those issues. Our server was on the ball and came around frequently. We all ordered the prime rib. This is the ONLY place I will order prime rib. Everywhere else it's been flavorless, pure fat or tough. It's been none of that here. The salad is nothing special, just iceberg lettuce, a little cheese and a few Fritos. But it was pretty good, anyway. The blue cheese dressing was excellent, with some nice chunks of cheese. The baked potato was very good, nice & fluffy. It was done all the way through. So many time they're hard in the middle, but not these! We've been here several times before and we'll be back again!

You're staff handled my order issue and behavior in the utmost professional manner and I understand that the issue was beyond the controls of what you were able to do. It says a lot for a place to have such a positive effect on an angry customer like me. This experience is a powerful reminder to me to treat people with the professionalism and civility that your staff gave me. Sometimes stresses in life can alter how we handle things when we don't get our way. In no way am I excusing my behavior but I would like to offer this public apology as my most sincere regrets for my outburst.

Once you order, you might be waiting a little longer than you do at a typical fast food joint because everything is cooked to order. There is a veggie burger, too, if that is your desire. The menu is a bit sparse but covers most of the bases with burgers, hot dogs and a hand-breaded tenderloin. There is also barbecue pulled pork, chicken strips, and chicken sandwiches. There's also an array of grilled cheese with variations. Variations? Can you improve upon the basic grilled cheese sammich? Sure! Add bacon and tomato. Bacon? Sure! Everything is better with bacon! That's what I ordered, it was ooey-gooey as a grilled cheese should be, and the bacon and tomato just added to the experience! Deserts? Of course! Choose from sundaes or, as in my case, a milkshake or malt. I opted for a raspberry malt, which was thick and tasty, but thin enough to pull through a straw. (Unlike a certain fast-food joint where you can hold a malt upside down and it won't budge. Don't try that at Murph's!) I don't get this way very often, but next time I'm in the twin cities of Tama and Toledo, I'll be stopping back here.
