Out of all the restaurants in Marshalltown, this one is my absolute favorite. With good food, great staff, and a warm and friendly environment, Culver's of Marshalltown, Iowa will forever be one of my favorite places to eat. Every staff here at Culver's does their best to make you feel like family- one such lady by the name of Jan has actually memorized my name in order to great me personally when I walk through the door. This small gesture makes me proud to live in the Marshalltown community and have Culver's among us serving us with pride and goodness. However, I must confess that no place is perfect. Each restaurant will have faults and Culver's is not exception. One of the biggest things I notice when I enter Culver's here in Marshalltown is that some of the tables have not been cleaned off yet. Now on a busy day I can forgive some tardiness; when the place is dead, however, a restaurant has no excuse for not keeping their tables clean for new customers. Chairs not cleaned up, tables with left over food crumbs spread across its surface-it unsettles me to sit in such a place. The staff at Culver's, while being pleasant, have some faults as well. Example: I came in and ordered a Culver's burger- single and with onion rings. When the food came I got my onion rings, but it appeared that they had upgraded the order without telling me. Now one may think that getting an upgrade is good-after all, we love upgraded things in America. Yet when you ask for one thing (especially when you are on a budget) and they give you something else while charging you for that upgrade, it unsettles me even more. I would have liked the serve to repeat back what I said in order for me to know that she understood me and was able to follow the directions I had when it came to my food. All in all Culver's, while sharing some mistakes and in need of an improvement of both quality of restaurant and servers, Culver's in Marshalltown, Iowa still deserves your attention for its family atmosphere and commitment to excellence, even with a few miss haps here and there. read more

I only had corn dog- which I love and French fries. Had gotten soda also! We had to wait for about 7-8 minutes for food! Then went to get mustard out of bin at condiment counter. Only had 2 in there but a lot of mayo. So I filled their bin with mayo! Then went up to counter. There were SEVERAL employees behind counter, laughing, talking among themselves. I felt like I was totally ignored. I had to say Excuse me!! Then I got more mustard from "Manager"! Okay! Then I had remembered that I wanted to get a chocolate malt. So went to counter ordered. Was given their traditional number to put on table for delivery. Mind you I only ordered a malt, no fried foods from kitchen. So sat there 5 minutes, 7 minutes. Nope no malt being delivered. So I finally took my number sign and went up to counter. Still standing there. Totally ignored again! I said excuse me for the second time in this same visit. I said I only ordered a malt! I had ordered the sourdough melt. Not so good! I didn't see any cheese on that sandwich! Too much grilled onions. Crinkle cut fries always good. Malts soo good! At noon time the drive-thru line always reminds me of line at In n Out! But sadly Culver's not even on that level at all! Not to sure I will be back! read more

Stopped for a quick bite. My fiancé ordered the double Butter Burger with cheese and cheese curds. I ordered a single Butter Burger with cheese. We added fries and a drink to our order. The cheese curds were out of this world! Our food was fresh and the staff polite. The soda fountain and condiment section needed attention along with the dining room floor. With 6 foot distancing still in affect there really is not a lot of seating, because the place is oddly designed, we decided to just get our food to go. This place isn't anywhere near what it used to be. 15 or more teens and preteens walking around behind the counter and only 1 register open. Can't ever enter the order right the first time OR the second time. Cheese curds have changed and are subpar. Garbage all over the floors at all times. Go somewhere else. read more

The food comes pretty fast. Which is in par for a fast food restaurant I got the mushroom Swiss burger. So I'm biased because I love mushroom Swiss burgers. So I find this rendition adequate. In retrospect I should have gotten their specialty so I could see what all the fuss is about. But for the positives the bun is lovely the meat seems non artificial and the milkshake bring all the boys to the yard. Jk but it's pretty okay. Not super thick. I like my shakes thicc. ButterBurger X-ing. Cooked-to-Order ButterBurgers with 100% US raised beef, topped with fresh produce and Wisconsin cheese. Sounds good doesn't it. Too bad it only sounded good. While the produce is fresh, the tomato, lettuce, and red onion was the bulk of the burger. Their beef patty was thin, dry and overcooked. The crinkle cut fries, although crispy, lacked flavor. Do not cross for Butterburger, proceed and find a real burger elsewhere. If you're craving fried chicken though, stop on by. Their fried chicken meal is pretty good. My first trip to a Culver's. I've seen them but never stopped in. This one was so close to my hotel and I was so tired... well, I ate there. I had the pot roast dinner with mashed potatoes and coleslaw ($9.07 with sales tax and a drink). The pot roast was overcooked but overall it was pretty damn good. The coleslaw was exceptional with touches like celery seed in the dressing. Skip McDonalds... this is the place to eat when you're hungry and eating alone. read more

We are Culver's fans and go there when we travel because of the consistent quality of the food. We were very disappointed on a recent trip to Marshalltown Iowa . We took a friend there and were served dry smashed buns with a burger that appeared to be microwaved. The quality was nowhere near what we are accustomed to from Other Culver's. I've been going to Culver's in Marshalltown since they first opened. Things were amazing back then, up until they changed owners a few years back. They lost a lot of their good staff in the process, due to rude new management, as well as lost a lot of loyal customers since they no longer keep up their cleanliness and history of good food preparation. read more

I love Culver's! Their frozen custard is fantastic! All of their food is made fresh after you order it. They are famous for butter burgers, but the rest of their menu is real quality! Last but not least, the people that work there are truly nice and provide great customer service. Their building and property always look impeccable and the grass is mowed!!! read more

Staff fighting with each other, rude disrespectful just to name a few. Food can be good at times. A bit greasy. If you don't have the staff making rude comments about you. I would say save your money if you want a friendly helpful smile. I have not and will not go back to eat here. read more
