    Rat poop

Don't go here! Rat poop all over the place. Could have gotten very sick, luckily we saw all the feces before we started eating

We had driven 44 miles from Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, when the wife needed to make a pit stop after drinking coffee, after 70 minutes of driving on 35 mph mountain roads. We checked out the Subways in Mariposa on the corner of route 140 and 7th street. Parking tight in the front diagonal spaces -expect car dings from the car on the slope above you. We park in one of the parking lots a block away in the back. I come dressed in shorts, short sleeves and $100 Chakos womens sports sandals, with the wife bundled up head to toe on the sunny cold November day. We get immediate service with a smile, and order the foot long meatball marinara at $5.50 before tax, on honey grain bread, with provolone cheese, toasted. The wife gets olives, pickles, cucumbers, spinach, and lettuce on her half, while yours truly gets jalepenos, yellow peppers, lettuce, onions, more onions, more onions and ..... An old timer in the background shouts cookies! The sandwich is so spicy hot that I'm exhailing fire fumes like the dragon in Lord of the Rings! We get excellent service, contrary to previous Yelp reviews. Someone must have heard that we were coming, or Subways corporate headquarters decided that heads must roll -maybe they did. And where did the meatballs came from? Meat by products? No, meatballs from terminated meathead employees!? A Chinese group comes in, rejecting the China Station restaurant down the block. The wife picks up her half of the foot long sandwich, with the meatball on the end falling out of the sandwich. She doesn't notice it, as I discretely scoop it into my sandwich. This is the mother of all messy sandwiches, 8 meatballs, with marinara sauces on both of our faces, looking like toddlers playing with their food! We both use the spotlessly clean bathrooms, separate for men and women. So clean that the men's bathroom has no pool of liquid in front of the toilet, that I usually see. I guess the locals have better aim than the tourists at Yosemite!

    Yummy BMT loaded with veggies

Made a quick pit stop here for food after spending three days in Yosemite hiking, camping and eating dehydrated food. I was dying for some fresh veggies. The employees were polite, but not super friendly. The place was clean and the food was good. The parking is sparse, only one spot available at 10am. Overall, a solid franchise location.

Subway needs to get their stuff together. Footlongs used to be $5, now they're well over $10 and you barely get any protein.

New management has turned this place around. I took my Grandson's for lunch today and received fast friendly service and food was fresh.

It's kid and dog friendly, the food is tasty, the beer selection is great, and the cocktails are carefully crafted and top notch. We were in Mariposa for two nights and ended up here both nights. We lucked out with events - live music one night, karaoke the next - but regardless of the event the staff was fantastic and hospitable, the vibe was amazing, the locals were friendly and inviting...we just felt so at home! Mariposa is a very special place, but the Grove House was the highlight of our trip and clearly the heart of this town. It really showcases the wonderful sense of community here. I will stay in Mariposa every time I come to Yosemite from now on so I can come to the grove

They have limited hours so make sure you plan for it, and they also host events throughout the week which means live music isn't always available. The ordering process is straightforward - you place your order at the front inside and then pick it up with a buzzer outside, which works perfectly for enjoying the outdoor setting. 5/5 Tomato Soup with Half Grilled Cheese was so hearty and exactly what you need after a long drive or before heading into the mountains. The soup was the best I have had in a while, with rich tomato flavor that was perfectly seasoned and had just the right consistency. The grilled cheese was nothing too special on its own, but it paired so well with the soup, especially to warm you up in the cold. The combination is classic comfort food executed beautifully, and you really can't go wrong with this order. The Grove House is absolutely worth planning your Yosemite trip around! It's the perfect stop to fuel up before heading into the park or to unwind after a day of hiking. The combination of good food, welcoming atmosphere, and that small-town charm makes it a must-visit when you're in Mariposa. I would definitely recommend trying this place out - it seems like one of the best restaurants in the area on the way to Yosemite. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and hoping to catch one of their live music nights!

It's a smaller spot, so expect a wait, but honestly the bar makes it easy to relax while you wait for a table. Everyone was very attentive and polite. When I stayed in Mariposa, I tried their special. A burger with shrimp and sweet potato fries. Definitely different, but it worked surprisingly well and tasted amazing. Also, you HAVE to try the local brews, so get the flight. This place honestly feels like Mariposa's little slice of fancy without trying too hard. I had dessert too, and I can't even remember what it was called... I just remember it was gooooooood.

I had the Mist Trail, their local hazy brew, and it was honestly one of the best hazies I've had. It was crisp and had the citrus notes I always look for in a good hazy. I also had the 1850 Burger, which did not disappoint. It was cooked to a perfect medium, properly seasoned, and had a great balance of vegetables and a delicious sauce. I don't think it even had cheese, but it was so flavorful that I didn't miss it at all. Then there were the Ahi Nachos, which were on a whole different level. The raw ahi tuna was incredibly fresh, the fried wontons were perfectly crispy, and the sauce they drizzled over everything absolutely sealed the deal. This was easily one of the standout dishes of the meal. This isn't full table service, we ordered at the counter near the entrance, then found a table and waited for our food to be delivered. Everything came out quickly, and the staff continued to check on us throughout our visit. This would be a great spot no matter where it was located, but having a place like this in such a small town makes it stand out even more. Great food, great beer, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'd definitely love to come back here!
