Went to subway the other day and my sub was extremely delicious and fresh, Ana was supper friendly. Great costumer Services !

Excellent service, great location and the food is very fresh and yummy. The room is nice and relaxing.

If you're unlucky the wait can be like 30 minutes. Sometimes it's decently quick though. I like the spicy italian which comes with pepperoni and salami. It tastes yummy with the lettuce and tomato and chipotle mayo. I get the Italian herb and cheese bread. Good study snack lol read more

Subway on Gilman in LJ who made the sandwich only gets 2 stars. I ordered a foot long with everything on it. Usually when I order in store, they can hardly get the sandwich to close. I love lots of veggies on my sandwich. This sandwich was all bread, I had to open it to see what was inside. After paying just under $40 for a delivered footlong, I expected so much more!! Very disappointing & will never order delivery from Subway again. However, my Grub Hub driver was awesome. Read my message & got the order to the right place. read more

Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick sub. The food is fresh. Was lucky enough to be helped by Ana Martinez. Will definitely come back. read more

Never try to speak to anyone who works here because they won't talk to you. Subway has also cut rotisserie chicken off of their menu and they just now have a bunch of premade sandwiches with a bunch of crap on them that it is very hard to customize. Very customer unfriendly now a crappy menu that has few healthy options on it. Why would anyone ever go here unless they were desperate?? read more

Quick & excellent service as always. Food is great. Would eat here again. Great job. Friendly staff.

Labeling people = bad. Labeling sandwiches = absolutely necessary. Imagine four boxes of six different kinds of sandwiches, all mixed up. Now, imagine these sandwiches with NO labels on them. No labels on the box, no labels on the bag. No labels on the wrappers--no labels to be had!! Next, imagine discovering this AFTER you've already shlepped these four boxes of mixed-up, unlabeled sandwiches clear across campus, having put your trust in a sandwich shop that's been around since 1965 to do the right thing. Friends, this is exactly what transpired at this Subway at precisely 4:30pm on November 18, 2025. To illustrate the severity of this Subway Fiasco, let me ask: how is the person allergic to dairy supposed to traverse this landmine and find their dairy-free sandwich? How will the vegetarian know they won't end up with a dead carcass in their mouth??? This is clearly so much more than a simple mistake--this is a matter of life or death! A catered box of sandwiches MUST be labeled! That's, like, Sandwich 101. I'm also pretty sure this was the second Fiasco at this Subway. I can't remember the first, but I will always remember November 18, 2025. And with Fiascos, there is no third chance. It's two Fiascos, you're out. read more

Sub was good, fresh, excellent service really friendly plus place is clean, I will definitely come back :)

Great service and great food!! They are highly efficient and dedicated to their job. Also all ingredients felt fresh and tasty

30 minute wait to get to finally get to make my sandwich. This location is hella understaffed

Very flexible manager. Ana was great in helping me out and understanding how to work the kiosk. Also employees really show team work.

One star is too much honestly Door dashed from this location last night. Got four items. Two items were missing and the other two were completely wrong. It was not my dashers fault but the employee working at subway instead. From what I heard they did not want to be working. Door dash refunded me. read more

Food was very late and the employees did not communicate what was happening. I don't think they speak fluent English

I don't really recommend coming here unless you are a student living on campus at UCSD. This is on campus and there is no parking except for disabled parking across from the entrance. It it inside a food court. The food was good, though. read more

1. not enough manpower during peak hours, my mobile order took 2 hours to make and i was pissed off 2. their subway refridgerator outside scammed me. i took a sandwich and it charged me for 2 sandwiches. subway overall is very overpriced but healthy option if you customize correctly Summary: Taste = taste of food Value = price, expertise, other non-food logistics Novelty = memorability among competitors Taste 2/5, Value 1/5, Novelty 1/5. It's a bit hard to judge this spot since.. well, you make the sandwich you get. However, the food here is pretty decent for campus food and you can pile on ingredients to get an enormous sandwich for the price you pay. Solid option for dining at Price Center. read more

I'm a new UCSD student still getting used to the campus. Today was my first time stopping by subway. I was EXTREMELY surprised by the rude attitude of some of the workers. When I politely asked why they are using shredded cheese when I ordered cheddar, the woman looked at me like I'm crazy? Like, why on earth would I want shredded cheese on my sandwich? Anyway. I just politely said okay good to know for next time (I won't be ordering cheddar). then when I mentioned I had a student triton cash card he said no we don't let you use that here?? After a few moments of confusion he finally swiped the card and said oh ok. I'm just a little frazzled like. What? Haha definitely making my sandwiches from home from now on. read more

This is literally one of the worst subways i've ever been to!! Every time I go they have barely any ingredients but never take the time to say it. They have no ingredients but are stocked up on ATTITUDE. I hate going there because it's always a hassle. When you go they say they're closed for accepting orders upfront and only taking mobile orders, then make you stand in line for mobile orders. Worst restaurant on campus! Never had a good experience here read more

Worst Subway Ever. $11 for a very small 6-inch tuna. I paid for double protein, there was barely more than a smear of tuna. They forgot two toppings. The tomatoes they use were not cored, and the slices I received were the unripe, un cored end pieces. But hey, if you do the survey on the receipt, they will give you a free fountain drink or two mini cookies with your next order of a sub. No apologies. No thanks. I will stick with Jersey Mikes from now on. This was a Grubhub delivery. Coworkers sandwich was wrong also. read more

Whoever was working at 6:00pm on Monday October 7th and had a bun need to be evaluated, I asked for a spicy meatball sandwich then had to repeat myself 3 times, I understand that it was loud and I tried to raise my voice but still. They then proceeded to start giving me attitude bc I raised my voice after that she began making regular meatball sandwich which I wouldn't mind but then they charged me for "the boss" which was like 2 bucks extra I know it's probably not worth it but still. Also be nice to your coworker mans was just trying to work. Truthfully I understand that it's not the workers fault but the managers for mismanagement and failing to schedule more work the allotted time read more

Fk this place. If you can't get your orders go through fast enough, get more employees or don't fking open! You can't just let dozens of people crowded at counter waiting for 30 minutes+, especially we are all students and faculties. We have classes to attend and our schedules are tight. We had to manage our time just to get a lunch. Reasons why we choose you is because it's a goddamn Sandwich. It supposed to be FAST and CONVENIENT, not like waited for 30 minutes, received order ready, and told me you haven't even started making it! A fking steakhouse can even serve food faster. Ridiculous! read more

shit took 30 minutes for 1 person to get their sandwhich. whatttt aw hell nah. ahhhhh helllllllll nahhhhhhh. i'm pissed

PSA: THERE ARE NO FIVE DOLLAR FOOTLONGS (at least for this month of November) This being an on-campus Subway, you expect it to not be as nice as other locations. However, every time I've gone, I've never been disappointed. During lunch hours, the line gets ridiculously long, but they'll open up the other side, which people often don't know about. Anyway, so the times I've gone, there's this amazing worker there who perfects my sandwiches. I remember one time I went during a lunch rush and my sandwich started falling apart a little. Instead of just smushing everything together and resassembling, he just made me a brand new one. I didn't even have to repeat my order to him... he remembered my order AND all the toppings. I really appreciated that because I know that it often gets really stressful when there's 15+ people in line. Overall, I've never had a bad experience here, other than the unfortunate lack of 5$ footlongs. The prices have gone up and it's not really worth paying 7$ for a simple sandwich, especially one that used to only cost 5$. OVERALL: Food: 4/5 -- it's your basic Subway Service: 5/5 -- props to that guy who perfects your sandwiches Price: $ -- But prices have gone up. read more

Subway - This may be the most attractive and appetizing sandwich I have ever encountered. It's composition and distribution is impeccable - Sandwiches Near Me - La Jolla, California

There are few places at UCSD's campus with food that I would consider quasi-edible and Subway usually doesn't come to mind. In fact, there is usually a strange odor coming from their restaurant area so I normally steer clear of it. However, seeing as though it is the most reasonably priced, and relatively healthiest option (until I got my hands on it) I decided that it would be my lunch stop of the day. I had a coupon for a free double meat upgrade and, as ridiculous as it sounds, I decided to order a Chicken Bacon Ranch foot long sandwich...with everything. This thing was huge, and even the employees seemed to enjoy a laugh at trying to figure out how they were going to wrap it and shoehorn it into the bag. That said, the sandwich was pretty good. It seemed to lack a bit of the ranch, but certainly didn't lack any of the fixings, and I struggled to finish it. While there are more dining choices on campus than ever, few provide very good value for the student budget, and even fewer are actually good for you. I probably negated any real health benefits with my colossal heart attack of a sandwich (I estimate it was at least 1200 calories) it definitely went a long way toward satisfying my hunger pangs. Seriously, $5 foot longs is the best idea ever! Food: 7/10 Service: 7/10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 5/10 read more

Subway - two hot dogs on a wrapper - Sandwiches Near Me - La Jolla, California

I am giving Subway 3 stars for the lack of 3 inch subs. Here at Subway, I feel like we, as customers, should have the opportunity to purchase a 3 inch sub -- the perfect size sub. Subway only offers 6 & 12 inch subs, which is way to big if you ask me. 3 inch subs is the perfect size; sometimes too big but usually perfect. 6 inches is ginormous, about 600% more than what I am comfortable taking. Subway, heed my words and listen to the customers -- 3 inches is the best. read more

As the two ladies have mentioned, the manager at this Subway rocks. He makes sure the workers get those sandwiches done ASAP. One time I got there and there was this long ass line. I couldn't see the manager. Hmmm... 5 minutes later he comes out from the back, sees how long the line is, talks some smack to the employees, takes charge of the register, and the line shortens a little. He then had no more people to ring up because he had to wait for the sandwich makers to finish. He grumbled at them again, moved to the front of the sandwich assembly line, and told them to get their asses in gear. 2 minutes later, I had my sandwich and the line was down to nearly nothing. He is proof that a good manager can make a HUGE difference. update: I'm knocking off a star because the cool dude is gone and they seem to go skimpy on the toppings now. Boooo! read more

This Subway is about 3 stars in terms of food. I'm not sure why but every time I get my sandwich toasted, it is not as crispy as when I get sandwiches at other Subways. Even when toasted, the bread is still soft and can sometimes get soggy making the sandwich a little less appealing. The customer service at this location however is HORRIBLE. The last 2-3 times that I have been here, the staff has been extremely rude and disrespectful. I have never been met with a friendly face and they try to rush you out as soon as possible. After asking for 2-3 veggies they'll ask if you're done. I'll ask for another 1-2 veggies and they'll ask again. And again. The second time and third time I visited, I told them all the veggies I wanted from the beginning and afterwards they started packing it up before I got the chance to ask for spread with it. The staff is too busy about getting customers out of there as soon as possible to even bother with customer service. They even have signs all over telling people to give them 5 stars on their customer satisfaction survey which they definitely do not deserve, especially if they specifically have to ask for it. read more

After my last few visits to this Subway, I have to change my review to a 1-star. I never thought that it could be this bad, honestly. The last sandwich I had was completely ruined. I had to eat it with a knife and a fork - the bread was completely soggy (pretty much looked completely gone) as it was drenched in marinara sauce from the meatballs, and the sandwich was stuck to the wrapper in many parts. My sandwich before that fell apart as the person failed to wrap it properly, and rather than fixing it just shoved it into a bag. The workers are ridiculously rude lately (even worse than before). They have absolutely no patience, and don't even bother to show any courtesy, manners, or anything of the like. read more

This review is purely for the customer service and not the food(food was good btw). I was waiting in line and the employees were busy restocking the line. I have no issue with employees restocking the line and wiping it down before helping the next set of customers. However my issue was that there was no COMMUNICATION between the employees behind the line and the customers. They were literally just talking to themselves while wiping down the line and refilling which took a decent amount of time. The least they could do is acknowledge the customers and say something like "hey we will be with you in a moment, we are just restocking the line real quick". read more

I have been ordering large number of lunches for my staff for three weeks from a variety of restaurants in the past few weeks due to training we have staff in. Most restaurants have met the basic needs of my order, but Subway at UCSD went above and beyond. The basic needs of my order were met. The entire order was on time, well priced, and made just as requested. But in several areas they went above and beyond. 1) I brought the order in at 9:00am asking for it to be ready for pick up at noon. They answered enthusiastically, no qualms for the short notice, and no concern for them to be fresh during the rush hour. 2) As I was placing the order Cesar pointed out that two of the sandwiches may get cold in transport and offered to either make them last, wait for me to change the order, or whatever I would like. Mind you he did all of this while his staff handled the steady stream of customers coming in. 3) Then to make it even better when we picked up the food not only was all of it nicely wrapped up and easy to transport, but also the individual boxes all had each staff members name on them so I could easily distribute the boxes. Talk about above and beyond expectations! 4) Now all of the above compliments are for this particular visit; however, I must also add that I eat here rather regularly and often get their salad. I am consistently impressed with their speed (far better than nearly every Subway I've ever been too) and their friendliness even when I slow up the line a little bit with my sale order. Cesar seems to always be there and is always accommodating to every patron. Two other guys have worked their a while also and are also super nice. All in all well deserved five stars. Thanks (gracias) read more

It's the healthiest option at the Price Center, which is the only reason I ever go back. The employees there seem to have a lot of trouble understanding you when you order. I'm not certain if it's too noisy in there or if it's some other issue, but ordering just requires too much effort, and their accuracy is pretty bad. I loathe pickles and 50% of the time "everything but pickles" isn't enough to ward off the cucumbers soaked in evil. I have to object QUICKLY when I see them go for them at the end of my sandwich assembly. Lines REALLY long, unless you go super early. Not worth it. Most of the time when I go to Price Center with Subway in mind, I see the line and end up elsewhere. read more

Located in the heart of UCSD, this place gets CRAZY crowded around lunch time, especially now that the $5 footlong subs are back! (I think for the rest of this month?) The good thing is that they know they're packed and they have (at least today) high energy staff that get through the line quick and fast. I was in and out of there in 5 minutes! I usually go for Chicken Teriyaki, Tuna, or Chicken Breast - can't really go wrong, right? :D read more
