This subway seems to be always busy but the lines move quickly. It's a go to place for Honolulu downtown employees. The offerings are cheaper than the average lunch, calorie manageable and the food is decent. Items must be fresh because of the turnover. The nice ladies that have been there for years have a rhythm of making meals and are nice. They always have a smile and seem efficient. The interior is clean with bright lighting. I've had it with this Subway location! They get my order wrong every other time (they just randomly put whatever they want on them), but this time was the worst. I ordered through the Subway app for pickup, and when I got there, they hadn't even started my order. Come to find out, they don't make the 4-inch kids meal sandwich that the Subway app lets you order and I paid for it -- it comes with a boxed juice and apple Go-Gurt. Instead of apologizing or figuring it out what to do, the "sandwich artists" stood around talking among themselves while giving me evil stares. What did I do wrong? I'm the customer! One of them finally called the boss, who told them to make a 6-inch sandwich without giving me the juice and apple Go-Gurt -- like I was getting some kind of a deal with that extra 2 inches of bread and lettuce. I also ordered a cookie separately, and they refused to give it to me because I was getting the 6-inch instead of the 4 inch. Seriously? During the lunch hour on a work day, us 9-5 people in downtown are foraging for food. In most cases, this location tends to get busy as the lines form. It usually gets to the point where you have to wait outside of the door for about 5-7 minutes to place an order. Though there are many places to venture, this would usually be go to spot when I'm craving for Subway. However, with my recent visit, I will be taking this off my list. Why you ask? Well at my recent visit, it was a busy per usual. When it came to the employees making the sandwiches, I noticed that they were being extremely skimpy on the veggies. Like extremely skimpy. This was never the case before. Not sure if they were ensuring that every customer gets what they want or if they were just feeling the pressure. I just thought it was very odd. When I finally paid my sandwich and went back to the office to satisfy my craving, I noticed that my sandwich felt warm. When I was ordering, I instructed them multiple times that I did not want my order toasted. I proceeded to open the sandwich to realize that this was not my order at all! I tried contacting their number to inform them of the mix up but I did not get a response. At this point I was starving and ran out of lunch time as I was about to head to a meeting. I e just ordered The Hot Shot Italiano my favorite sandwich from Subways. I ordered through UBER EATS any way when ever I order from the Alakea St store the sandwiches always taste so fresh, the vegetables crunchy, the amount of foods the way they all blend together & condiments are JUST the right amount no flavors are cancelled out. The Alakea store to me is number 1 in Honolulu. Its neighbor on Biship and Nimitz is number 2. the other 2 in Ft. Street Mall are horrendous at times. whether it's ordered or you walk in to pick up. Subway manager is racist against haoles, tried to charge double for salad, refused to add proper porportions, when contested said I was being difficult and terminated order. Been coming to this branch for years, first time manager served me and canceled order turned off lights and asked me to leave. I come here prior to rush hour which is before 11/11:30. They are open really early so if I'm on my way to get coffee next door, it's really convenient to already pick up a sandwich if i have a busy schedule ahead. Aunty working is really sweet. My sandwich is never on the daily sale.. Subway please change that! My usual order: Club on wheat, American cheese, light mayo, lettuce only, vinegar, oil, and pepper, YUM! No more "sub of the day" specials as of this review writing. Service and workers have been "hit and miss" over the last few months. It's an older workforce than previous. One lady rushes to put on your toppings, another doesn't speak to you when you make your sauce and spices selection. With sub of the day, my lunch with drink and chips came out to under $7. Today I paid close to $10. At that price point, I'd prefer to support local and do the sub place across the street. read more

She went to the stall to do her business. The lady came out as I was washing my hands. She did not stop to wash her hands. She just left! One of downtown Honolulu's newest Subway locations, this is one of the better ones. It's actually located on Alakea next to the new Starbucks. This is not an easy location to drive to, but is right at a major bus transfer point and easy to walk to from anywhere downtown. As it's new, it's clean and fresh. It's one of the larger locations, with big windows open to the street for natural light. The staff here is friendly and fast making subs. There's not much to say about the actual food, it's your typical Subway and I really doubt you're reading Yelp because you're curious about what a Subway sub tastes like. I'm sure this place gets busy at lunch due to its central location, but has two doors to allow for easy flow in and out of customers. An added bonus is a number of 2 seat tables outside, which offers a surprisingly pleasant place to eat and people watch. read more

Expect long lines at lunch time! This location convenient for downtown workers. They are well stocked with breads, cookies and chips. The line goes down pretty fast. The only downside is there's no parking, unless you park on Richard street (metered) or in Alii Place (not validated). No seats inside. Also, when it is crowded, it gets really hot and uncomfortable! Location: This location is fairly new next to Starbucks and the Central Pacific Bank Building on Alakea and King St Parking: There are several parking garages nearby, which are a little bit expensive. Avoid this location if you possibly can! The service is exceedingly poor from the staff, in the location itself, all the way up to the owner. I had issues with the "sandwich artist" not knowing what was on their series sandwiches (taking ingredients off of a sandwich and putting it back in with the rest of the ingredients essentially contaminating them all), not being able to process payments correctly (it took 3 people and they never figure it out), and then being blamed for the staff not knowing how to do their jobs by the owner. And the cherry on top was the sauce bottles looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a week. Again if you are not starving to death you are better off anywhere else. read more

I've bought 4 separate sandwiches and they have messed up every single one of them. There's no reason to even customize your sandwich because they put whatever they want on them, and leave out whatever. Id advise making sure you have everything on your sandwich before leaving.
