I would give zero stars if I could. The customer service here was extremely rude and unprofessional. There were three employees working, and the way I was treated was unacceptable. My son simply wanted a kids sandwich with nothing on it -- just bread. I clearly stated that I was still paying full price for the kids sandwich. Instead of handling the situation respectfully, one employee raised her voice at me and said, "There better be something on that bread." I calmly explained again that I was purchasing the sandwich regardless of what was on it. She then continued speaking loudly and said she would "allow it this time" but not again in the future. As a paying customer, I should not have been spoken to in such a disrespectful and confrontational manner. The entire interaction made me feel uncomfortable and harassed. Customer service and professionalism clearly need improvement at this location. I will be filing a complaint because no customer should be treated this way. My son started crying saying. I came here today with my four kids as we were passing through. It's in a gas station, but it was very clean and maintained. Staff was helpful and polite. We ordered a "meal" which comes with chips and a soda, and you use the soda machine from the other side of the gas station. Minus one star for the soda machine tasting bad. Like couldn't drink it bad. We will likely stop by on our way back depending on gas levels in the car. read more

Maybe it was the time I showed up but this is a nice subway... in a gas station. It's 9:47am. Clean tables, sub options are fresh. Lettuce looks wilted but spinach looked nice and fresh as was everything else. Customer service was good. Shocked. Honestly this was the best Subway experience I've ever had. I was a little nervous after reading the previous reviews and seeing this location's current rating, but I have nothing to complain about. When I walked in the employees were both busy making mobile orders so I had to wait a few minutes, but they were really kind and acknowledged me there and apologized for the delay so I didn't feel ignored at all. As soon as one employee finished the sandwich he was working on he gave me his attention while the other finished up the mobile order. I ordered two Subway Club FLs one with a substitution that was no issue. The bread was baked fresh and this was the best Subway sandwich I have had in my life. I know that sounds over the top, but I usually avoid Subways because I'm always disappointed. Recommend grabbing a sando here and will stop again if back in the Ely area. read more

Honestly a little disappointed. The two customers that were in front of us were waiting for a solid two minutes before we got into the line. Thought the place was closed because no one was showing their face. The lady that helped us was a little moody. I asked for extra cheese seeing as my mother, who ordered a foot long with no cheese didn't get any. So a little extra cheese shouldn't have been a big deal. The dude was kind and said it was ok, and she continued to argue with him while finishing my order. Thankful for him being kind. However I found a hair in my food. I have bright brown hair and found the black hair as soon as I opened my sandwich. There was a sandwich my husband wanted on the board but it had no name next to it, he asked if he could have that one and they said they don't have it, so he asked for another sandwich and they had no idea what was supposed to be on that sandwich. When there just isn't another option... I feel this Subway's issues lies within its management. The turnover rate is bound to be high due to location AND a gas station but the manager is not helping these poor employees. You can tell every person on the line is new, completely thrown to the wolves as management gazes upon them and customers. A quick bark of an order here or there but not once stepping in to help. A line 15 deep and this poor girl doesn't know how much meat to put on the sandwich...not because she's stupid or slow, but because she's actually never been fucking trained. What I thought would be a quick stop turned into a 30 minute ordeal definitley unneeded on a 10 hour drive... They were out of this out of that, didn't know where bacon was, no mustard. The sandwich line looked as if a tornado ripped through, cleanliness was the least of their worries. One subway employee was playing grab as with an employee from the Taco place, literally... grabbing. It was a totak shit show... as the manager continues to do nothing but gaze and bark orders. Made a pit stop here to grab some food and one of the workers was more than hostile. She didn't have a name tag, but not only did she roll her eyes when asking her to put condiments on the sand which, but she had the worst attitude I've ever seen. Mixed reviews for this location. There seems to be a high turn over with staff. The staff that is there for a while does a great job but the newbies are always extremely slow. There is one staff member who will give the customers a creepy stare and not say a single word. It's extremely uncomfortable. He won't even greet the customer or ask what they want on their sandwich. Just a creepy stare. I told him that he creeped me out and although he was polite in his responses, he did manage to slam my sandwich down on the counter before he handed it to me. There are a few women who are very friendly, give service with a big smile and do it right. I usually come in for lunch and have limited time. It's good to see them do a great job. read more

Was going through Ely twice in a weeks time. The first time we stopped there my sister got a sandwich there. She liked it alot. On our way home we stopped there again. This time i got a sandwich too. This is by far the worst Subway I have ever been too. This review has been almost 5 years coming. Please fire the manager, as this is clearly systemic, and not just a bad employee or two. Best sandwich I have had at subway in awhile. I wish I could remember the sweet gal's name behind the counter, because she truly made a subway sandwich her art! She had a very precise way of building the new enchilada sandwich so that the chips were in every bite and stayed crunchy. We will make sure to stop at this subway next time we roll through town. read more

Food was fine, but the service was terrible. We had a mixup with our order and instead of offering to fix it, a woman named Lisa argued with us about how it was all our fault. Lisa berated my daughter for not speaking up as she was making the sandwich, and then complained about how the cost was different and that she would have to void our order and recharge it. We paid $.15 more for the change. A lot of unnecessary shouting and arguing for a mistake and $.15. We'll be sure to go somewhere else the next time we come through town. read more

To top off the poor sandwich making and not listening to what customers wanted, the sandwich wasn't even wrapped and was placed in a bad with a dirty napkin.
