I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. While dining with my family, another customer became verbally aggressive toward me and my husband because my young children, both 2 year olds, were crying and because we were speaking Spanish, IN A MEXICAN RESTAURANT. Mind you, we are all natural born American citizens who speak two languages. I understand that children can be loud at times, but no one deserves to be spoken to disrespectfully while simply trying to enjoy a meal. Therefore I was disrespectful back, and while I understand two wrongs don't make a right, the restaurant acknowledged the situation but did not do anything about it. What was most disappointing was not the behavior of the other patron, it was the restaurant's response. The staff apologized, but no one stepped in to de-escalate the situation or address the customer's behavior. Instead, I felt like the only option was to leave after addressing the patron myself. I wasn't expecting anyone to take sides, but I did expect management to ensure that all guests could dine without being harassed. A simple intervention or request for the other customer to stop would have gone a long way. I hope the restaurant reviews how situations like this are handled in the future so that families and other guests feel supported and safe. This happened on 08.04 at about 6:30 pm. read more

We were driving to Utah and needed some gas. Whole their getting gas, we thought we'd go ahead and have some breakfast. This place is located at a Sinclair gas station, so it's a convenient location. They have a pretty big menu. I opted for their steak breakfast burrito. I personally didn't like the burrito. The one thing that threw it off was their "Fries" in the breakfast burrito. It was like undercooked sliced potatoes. The fries didn't look fried at all. It kind of seemed boiled or baked. Since we were in a hurry, I didn't bother trying to get a refund or to get it remade. Stranded at Love's with car trouble and not wanting roller weenies, we ventured here. The young man behind the counter was helpful with the menu .... So many choices. We had the Carnitas Plate and the Quesabirrias. So delicious. Will definitely stop here again on our way thru Ely!! read more

My daughter and I stopped here on our way home and boy were we surprised. I got the carne asada burrito and it was great. The meat was tender, the burrito fresh, the salsa incredible, and it was a meal all by itself. If you ever come through here it is well worth your time. My daughter had lengua tacos and she said they were incredible. They were fresh, with incredible cilantro. Next time we come through here I want to stop by. This place is worth stopping by. Rolberto's caldo siete mares. I've been ordering siete mares since they had started offering it in Ely location. I could say that it is one of the best seafood soups. Today, January 1, 2026, I was looking forward having siete mares for welcoming a great 2026 . Soup was watery. Not flavorful. No taste. Very bland. Disappointing!!! I did not touch it anymore. Since I didn't want to waste a $20 seafood soup, I asked for a container. I told the lady to just try it and she'd notice how watery the soup was. She came back and offered to refund it which I am thankful coz I don't know how I'd save the soup. Anyways, maybe today not a good start for their 2026. Rolberto's is a solid 3. Five of us went on a busy Saturday night for my friends birthday. I let waitress know it was his birthday and we would like to sing him happy birthday etc. and in the end she did not come through with anything you would aspect or actually anything at all. She was however on top of it with our drink and food orders. The atmosphere was very Hispanic and noisy. The food was solid Mexican with plenty of Hispanic patrons. That says a lot. This is Mexican fast food with a mini market. Lots of choices on the menu and daily specials. Great prices. We ordered the chicken tacos with beans and rice. Two loaded tacos, piping hot. All the required toppings. Served with delicious rice and beans. Also the large pork carnitas burrito with was the biggest burrito I've ever seen and it was not the largest on the menu. Came with a drink. There is a condiment stand with all the traditional Mexican toppings. Took half of the burrito and most of the beans and rice to go. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Me and my dad are driving up to Boise from California. Long drive. About 9 hours in we wanted some lunch. We stoped in Ely since that really was the biggest town that we were going to pass through. Now at first you look at Roberto's and it looks a little sus and run down. We were a little nervous because its a small drive through building attached to a Sinclair gas. We walked in and NO ONE was in there. however the inside was quite nice. A very good salsa bar and nice booths to sit in. Also side note: it's about 90 degrees and it's was nice and cool in there. Very comfortable. we ordered: I got the chicken fajita veggies, and my dad got the chicken taco and cheese enchilada plate. Food came out pretty quick but a good wait time to know they made it then and there. we got our food and EVERYONE started to come in. Personally I can claim that was the BEST chicken and fajitas that I have ever consumed. The chicken was grilled to perfection. I did not ONCe get a bad, chewy or fatty piece of chicken. The veggies were also cooked to perfection. A perfect char to them. There were peppers, onions, and tomatoes that were just magnificent. With that, I decided to get all rice just because I really enjoy Mexican rice. However, I tried my father's beans and once again they were good. Nothing crazy but good- same with the rice. Now for the tortilla. It's probably not but it definitely tasted homemade. And it was HUGE. Overall I highly recommend going here. I even have leftovers because the portion is pretty big. read more

Good food and friendly service hit the spot after a long day of driving. It was a short walk from the hotel tucked inside a former Sinclair Gas convenience store (fuel is still available). Family ordered the super burrito which is essentially the veggie burrito with Carne, although you can specify the type of protein you want. I got the burrito bowl which came with rice beans guacamole pico de gallo lettuce sour cream and carne asada (grilled beef), which was essentially the same as the super burrito but without the tortilla and it came with a fountain drink. Prices were on par for most of the tacos shops we visit in both Washington and Arizona and all places in between. The fresh salsa bar is hidden under a lid and kept chilled. Had cucumbers and pickled carrots (zanahoria con chili) to add to our supper. Will definitely make this a regular stop on our way through Ely. read more

Don't do it! The only redeeming quality was portion size. Massive amount of food that was mostly wasted. My wife barely ate hers. Nachos were bland chips with some melted cheddar on top. Chicken burrito was too salty, all dark meat and some of the worst red sauce I have ever had. I did like the refried beans but rice was not tasty at all. Food came fast but that's about all I can say about the service. Totally dilapidated inside. Couldn't wait to get out. Not sure why the reviews were so good. Passing through this town I found this little gem. Their tacos are HUMONGOUS!!!! I ordered 15 for our group staying at a nearby hotel. We ate by the pool. I also ordered chicken taquitos, churros, chips and salsa, burritos...and boy I had enough to feed an army for a fraction of the cost... all the items were fresh and delicious. I ordered takeout through the drive through and I don't know maybe it is because I have lived in San Diego and Phoenix, but I did not find the food all that great. For one thing, the quesadilla I ordered was sloppily put in the container so it was a huge mess. I just have had way better and I maybe chalk up the high reviews to there being no better option for Mexican in Ely. I will give them credit for large portion sizes but I would take better quality over size. Stop it. Stop your car, stop your truck, stop your yammering and put this food in your mouth. Our sunset dinner, in our car (after cruising through their drive through), was incredible. My husband said, "I think this one of the best burritos I have ever had." My 5-year old told me that she wanted to create a holiday called National Rolberto's Day- in which you would celebrate by eating food from this place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. FYI: Apparently it is supposed to be celebrated on Leap Day?!? (I cry foul.) A massive amount of piping hot food was handed to us by a kind masked lady who offered to add 4 different varieties of salsa to our bag. We opened up the bag to discover the most delicious crusted bits of juicy carnitas (we got a side order for the kids), side orders of delish rice & beans, a HUGE smothered shredded beef burrito, and the machaca burrito mentioned above by my hubby. Once the food was put into everyone's hands the car went absolutely silent ....for a moment...then it was "yuuuuuuuuuum", "so goooood", "oh my gosh"...bite, swallow, rave, bite- over and over again. We finished it off with some churros that were filled with delicious strawberry yumminess. Don't tempt us, Ely. We just may move from Seattle for Rolberto's.
