Stop it. Stop your car, stop your truck, stop your yammering and put this food in your mouth. Our sunset dinner, in our car (after cruising through their drive through), was incredible. My husband said, "I think this one of the best burritos I have ever had." My 5-year old told me that she wanted to create a holiday called National Rolberto's Day- in which you would celebrate by eating food from this place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. FYI: Apparently it is supposed to be celebrated on Leap Day?!? (I cry foul.) A massive amount of piping hot food was handed to us by a kind masked lady who offered to add 4 different varieties of salsa to our bag. We opened up the bag to discover the most delicious crusted bits of juicy carnitas (we got a side order for the kids), side orders of delish rice & beans, a HUGE smothered shredded beef burrito, and the machaca burrito mentioned above by my hubby. Once the food was put into everyone's hands the car went absolutely silent ....for a moment...then it was "yuuuuuuuuuum", "so goooood", "oh my gosh"...bite, swallow, rave, bite- over and over again. We finished it off with some churros that were filled with delicious strawberry yumminess. Don't tempt us, Ely. We just may move from Seattle for Rolberto's. I was in a pinch, trying to advance my trip out of Ely and having built, oh, 15 minutes total to kill to get dinner before going to a motel with no food around. So I needed something fast and didn't want a chain. Thanks, Roberto! I unfortunately missed the specials on the wall; it's a standard fast food place except it's all Mexican dishes, so it's very order for yourself and not a customized waitstaff experience. But the #20 I got to go was good, had a nice chile pepper inside and a boatload of adobo chicken. I forgot to grab a fork and/or they forgot to insert utensils, but they gave me wrapped shells (I asked for corn but these were flour....... main reason for the minus star) and those were helpful in picking up most of the food. Mini soft-shell tacos! By accident! The flan was interesting - a slice of a large one instead of a round small one. Not the absolute best flan I've had but since that was the dessert they had on hand, that's what I got. (I'm not a flan person in general, so that's on me.) Overall opinion: if you need food on the fly, or if you're following Highway 6 and not going through downtown Ely on 50-93, this is where you'll want to stop. read more

Really good casual (order at the counter) Mexican Food joint. We stopped in on a busy lunch day on a road trip on the Loneliest Highway in America - thank goodness there's good Mexican food along that highway!!! I had a beef taco and cheese enchilada combo plate and my son had huevos rancheros. My enchilada was good... nice dark red sauce and plenty of gooey cheese and the crispy taco was filled with a good shredded beef - shell was definitely fried there - not a pre-made shell. The beans and rice were good as well. My son loved his huevos rancheros... he said it was a good version... more of an omelette style (not eggs over easy) stuffed with veggies and covered in red sauce... and the flour tortilla that came with it was large... warm and very tasty. There was a good salsa bar as well with several salsas and marinated carrots/jalapeños. The staff were super friendly and efficient and got our order out quickly even though we were definitely there during a lunch-rush as there is both a counter inside and a drive through. So - Definitely stop in if you have a hankering for tacos and enchiladas along the Loneliest Highway in America!!! read more

We decided to eat here based on Yelp reviews, but were sadly disappointed. Their carne asada tasted like nothing more than greasy ground beef. I would say though that their hot sauce (red) was spicy and very tasty, so ask for a lot of it to hide the greasy blandness of the asada. read more

So glad we decided to stop here for dinner. We've been driving nonstop from CA and decided to stop for dinner. The menu is fairly extensive and since we were eating on the road, opted for the burrito because they should be fairly easy to eat. Their bowls were really on plates si we wouldn't be able to easily eat. We saw the salsa bar and saw they had a variety of salsa. But what we both grabbed were cucumber slices! We got the burritos and they were LARGE! And stuffed with goodness. BF opted for the vegetarian burrito. I opted die the carnival burrito. Again, it was large and stuffed with deliciousness! The carnival was fresh, soft and crispy... very good flavor. And the tortilla was warm and toasty like and held its form as we ate. We kind of took a long time to order but the guy was super patient and helpful, answering lots of questions I asked about items in the menu. Walked over from the hotel we were staying at and had a great "street taco" dinner. The carne asada tacos came with twin corn tortillas and a green sauce along with picco de gallo. They have a condiment stand in the restaurant with all made from scratch sauces and toppings. Prices are more than reasonable. Loved my taco dinner! Concerning a prior comment about the place being dirty. It is an older facility and a little worn but while I was there an employee was making his rounds cleaning all the tables. Tried it after seeing good reviews. Was unfortunately disappointed, $13 for 2 tacos with rice. Tacos arrived so greasy they disintegrated after only a bite. Attentive and customer service. They have a great salsa bar and an adequate seating area. The girl helping us said that the burritos were substantial and that was not joke. My husband got the carne asada burrito and it was filling for him. My daughter and I shared the beef taco plate with beans and rice. Nice and crunchy! The only weird thing was the building itself. A former tenant must have left shelves, old drink refrigerators and other stuff because it was all still there. The order taker had to think about that like it was an essay question from an advanced physics class. She eventually replied carne asada. Ok that will work. Paid and picked up food. She offered salsa as we also ordered guacamole and chips and a carne asada burrito. Back at the motel opened our food. Fajitas were chicken still okay but there were no tortillas. Really fajitas without tortilla. When you work in a mexican restaurant maybe you should review the menu. Clerk is a candidate for Adam Corolla's book "not taco bell material".
