Really good casual (order at the counter) Mexican Food joint. We stopped in on a busy lunch day on a road trip on the Loneliest Highway in America - thank goodness there's good Mexican food along that highway!!! I had a beef taco and cheese enchilada combo plate and my son had huevos rancheros. My enchilada was good... nice dark red sauce and plenty of gooey cheese and the crispy taco was filled with a good shredded beef - shell was definitely fried there - not a pre-made shell. The beans and rice were good as well. My son loved his huevos rancheros... he said it was a good version... more of an omelette style (not eggs over easy) stuffed with veggies and covered in red sauce... and the flour tortilla that came with it was large... warm and very tasty. There was a good salsa bar as well with several salsas and marinated carrots/jalapeños. The staff were super friendly and efficient and got our order out quickly even though we were definitely there during a lunch-rush as there is both a counter inside and a drive through. So - Definitely stop in if you have a hankering for tacos and enchiladas along the Loneliest Highway in America!!! read more

We decided to eat here based on Yelp reviews, but were sadly disappointed. Their carne asada tasted like nothing more than greasy ground beef. I would say though that their hot sauce (red) was spicy and very tasty, so ask for a lot of it to hide the greasy blandness of the asada. read more

So glad we decided to stop here for dinner. We've been driving nonstop from CA and decided to stop for dinner. The menu is fairly extensive and since we were eating on the road, opted for the burrito because they should be fairly easy to eat. Their bowls were really on plates si we wouldn't be able to easily eat. We saw the salsa bar and saw they had a variety of salsa. But what we both grabbed were cucumber slices! We got the burritos and they were LARGE! And stuffed with goodness. BF opted for the vegetarian burrito. I opted die the carnival burrito. Again, it was large and stuffed with deliciousness! The carnival was fresh, soft and crispy... very good flavor. And the tortilla was warm and toasty like and held its form as we ate. Delicious burrito and huge. And I got the regular sized one. I had it for lunch the next day too. It was delicious cold too! I got Chile Verde Burrito. Great service-very polite. We kind of took a long time to order but the guy was super patient and helpful, answering lots of questions I asked about items in the menu. Walked over from the hotel we were staying at and had a great "street taco" dinner. The carne asada tacos came with twin corn tortillas and a green sauce along with picco de gallo. They have a condiment stand in the restaurant with all made from scratch sauces and toppings. Prices are more than reasonable. Loved my taco dinner! Concerning a prior comment about the place being dirty. It is an older facility and a little worn but while I was there an employee was making his rounds cleaning all the tables. The Al Pastor Torta was good. We got our food pretty quick and for an affordable price you can get some pretty good portion sizes. The strawberry filled churro was also incredible. The apple soda was also refreshing. Overall recommended. read more

If you're passing through Ely and looking for a place to eat, this place is a MUST!!! They have a variety dishes, their burrito are big and tasty. The asada torta was a delicious steak sandwich. This was not our first time eating here and it's always been a good experience. Service is friendly and fast. We took our food to go but it was clean at the ordering counter and at the salsa bar. Tried it after seeing good reviews. Was unfortunately disappointed, $13 for 2 tacos with rice. Tacos arrived so greasy they disintegrated after only a bite. Food also arrived on a styrofoam plate with a hole burnt in it so rice made its way to the floor as I made my way to a table. Wish I never went. read more

Attentive and customer service. They have a great salsa bar and an adequate seating area. The girl helping us said that the burritos were substantial and that was not joke. My husband got the carne asada burrito and it was filling for him. My daughter and I shared the beef taco plate with beans and rice. Nice and crunchy! The only weird thing was the building itself. A former tenant must have left shelves, old drink refrigerators and other stuff because it was all still there. Drive thru in a gas station. Ordered from outside. Asked whether the fajitas were beef or chicken. The order taker had to think about that like it was an essay question from an advanced physics class. She eventually replied carne asada. Ok that will work. Paid and picked up food. She offered salsa as we also ordered guacamole and chips and a carne asada burrito. Back at the motel opened our food. Fajitas were chicken still okay but there were no tortillas. Really fajitas without tortilla. When you work in a mexican restaurant maybe you should review the menu. Clerk is a candidate for Adam Corolla's book "not taco bell material". On our way to Vegas and stopped by Rolberto's for lunch. I had the Carnitas plate. The meat was flavorful and had some nice crispy bits to it. Price and service was good too. My kids got McDonald's next door and totally regret not ordering at Rolberto's. We'll definitely be back when we drive through Ely again. read more

Very pleasantly surprised! On our way from Boise to Phoenix we stopped in Ely to use the restroom & eat. We were just about to head through the McD's drive through when we spotted the sign for Rolberto's. I decided to check the reviews & saw almost every review was 5 stars. We had to give it a try & we're glad we did. Being originally from Southern California we know good taco shop Mexican food. My husband had a chicken torta. He said it was easily one of the beat he's ever had. My daughter & I both had rolled tacos with guacamole. They were good, but the guacamole could've been a little thicker & more flavor. We also ordered a side of beans. OMG!! They were SO GOOD!! Additionally, we had a side of rice which was also good. Overall it was a great meal & I highly recommend trying it. This place surprised me. I stopped in to get gas and all their pumps weren't working. Then I tried their food, excellent simple Mexican food. I got the fish tacos, plenty of fish well cooked and tasty. A sweet sauce over it and cabbage to top it off. $5, excellent- I recommend it.
