We ordered chips and salsa, pork street tacos, and a chicken salad, and everything tasted fresh and homemade, care came through in every bite. Simple, authentic, sincere food done really well. After days of standard road-trip meals, this felt refreshing and personal in the best way. I'm baffled by the high ratings this place gets because I had a very poor experience. I had ordered a chicken burrito and it wasn't good at all. First, it took about 30 minutes to get my food and it wasn't even crowded. It was just me and another customer. Second, the burrito came out lukewarm, the chicken was very dry and there was very little sauce that came with it. The burrito was also filled with rice, and i also got a side of rice. The rice was completely undercooked, so it was "crunchy." Anyway, I was so looking forward to this place but it was a complete letdown. read more

So good! I had a delicious chicken torta. The wait time is expected (~15 mins) as everything is made to order (and Sandra is sometimes alone) but its very much worth it! The torta came with cheese, a side of red rice and yummy salsa roja. I paid with card so i am not sure if cash is accepted. There are only two meat options being chicken and pork but it is understandable for the area (i was hoping for lengua but alas!). They have drink options including horchata! Nice basic Mexican food truck in Baker. Options in the town are extremely limited and food here met the needs we had and the service was good. Bought a burrito and tacos and the food was pretty good. Nothing over the top and only meat was chicken on that day. I recommend this as a good predictable meal if you're coming out of Great Basin and need a bite to eat. read more

Came here after a day of hiking in Great Basin. Bless the person that was working; I know she was hustling. But the food was not great. We didn't mind waiting, as it was nice outside (~30 min wait). When the food came out, we didn't get the birria ordered, and it overall wasn't the best. Would not recommend the torta or quesabirria (the latter was just a quesadilla). Tacos are the way to go here to keep it simple. Our stomachs weren't super pleased that night. Wanted to love this. It did have good hours, but I'd be weary. read more

Sandra prepares excellent Mexican street food in a few minutes. It's reasonably priced and she accepts credit cards or cash, and maybe Venmo. You can sit on the covered porch and eat at a picnic table. During the off-season, November 5 today, this is now the only prepared food in town. She is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. If it says closed on the truck window, she may be gone just a bit to bring her kids home from school. Sandra also has several new lodging units for rent. read more

I was craving tacos after a day-long hike, and this was literally the only place in town. I ordered three street tacos (beef) and had to wait almost 30 minutes. I wish she had a helper because there was another batch of orders from a group of boys before me, so I guess that's why it took long. Anyways, the beef was good, taco sauce was tasty, tortilla was delicious and held its shape. However, the lettuce looked a day old (turned dark), and there was just a pinch of cilantro on one of them. read more

I was skeptical because it's Baker NV, but these were the best *beef* birria tacos I've ever had. I had to ask for the consommé with it, so be sure to do that if you get the birria or quesabirria tacos, but yeah it was damn good. The rest of the party was likewise impressed by their meals as well. Would have liked a rojo salsa in addition to the green but you take what you get when you're this remote.
