This used to be an amazing hidden gem - an ice cream parlor/diner tucked away in a national park (see the other reviews). It is under new ownership and for some reason the owners have switched focus to beer and Australian wines. This seems a little misplaced. Given that a large chunk of the visitors to the park are big families - I saw 8 kids emerge from a single minivan, and anyone driving in from the California side probably has their own stash of wine that they will drink under the stars, there does not seem to be much of an audience. They still sell one flavor of ice cream - if the 'Mr Whippy' machine is working. But the magic has gone - kids like to choose. read more

This place serves as a cafe and gift shop, adjacent to the NPS GBNP visitor's center. They serve breakfast until 11 and sandwiches, soup, and snacks all day. I didn't have real food, but looking over the menu, I thought the prices were reasonable. It's the only place to eat within miles of the park! Ice cream is $2 for a healthy serving. They carry 10-15 flavors. I had huckleberry. It was fantastic. They also have great baked goods - huge brownie for $1.25. The decor is kitschy diner with tables and vinyl chairs and a lunch counter. The gift shop sells t-shirts, knick-nacks, postcards, and jewelry. read more

Ate breakfast here before our cave tour. We had the basic breakfast - scrambled eggs, English muffin and bacon. Bacon was overdone for my taste but a good breakfast. The Cowboy Mocha was awesome! The waitress was super nice and friendly but was listening to her iPod while taking orders and serving - seems a little rude but she was attentive. We ended up buying some stuff so we got to combine our food and gifts which was really nice. This was a great place to start our day at the park. read more

Basically gas station food. If you crave microwaved food then go to a gas station and save some money.
