Our non-water beverage was Athletic NA IPA. Dessert, Carrot Cake and Coffee. We split one plate and left the table feeling well-fed, not disturbingly stuffed. The pork chop was thick, tender and flavorful. The salad fresh and diverse, dressed to remind me of the former Evah's House of Steak. Brussels Sprouts, slightly steamed. dressed with balsamic vinegar. Scalloped potatoes mildly cheesy. Carrot Cake Big Slice, not over-iced or too suite. Coffee a strong Americano, steamed frothy. The Athletic was an interesting NA beer. Really Hoppy,strong pinyness, slightly bitter finish. Great choice for an occasion. May 9, 2026 - $92. My wife and I tried to dine upstairs at JT's without a reservation on a Friday night at 630pm but were rejected. However, the hostess directed us downstairs to the bar where you can order the same dishes. The bar seating area didn't look much different than the dining room upstairs. The steep prices on the menu didn't match the casual dining atmosphere either in the bar or upstairs. My wife and I both ordered the steak sandwich. She got a side of fries while I got a house salad aiming to share these sides. We also ordered a couple of beers on draft. There was a single server working the six or so tables in the bar along with the counter. She had to hustle to keep up and I appreciated the effort. We were off to a good start with the cold draft beers and house salad. They had Firestone on tap which is always a winner with us. The salad was fresh and enjoyable. My wife pushed all the croutons to my half which works for me. We didn't have to wait too long for the sandwiches. The steak was cut into thick strips that made it a little difficult to eat at first. I enjoyed the garlic mayo and the fresh bun. Grilled onions would have been nice but not on the menu. My wife's dinner was served on a badly chipped plate and her fries were terrible. They were soggy and just not appealing. Again at these prices, my expectations are much higher. read more

Thursday evening. Didn't have restaurant reservations so I ate in the bar downstairs. Got a table but no chair. It was awkward standing there waiting for well over 10 minutes. Another newly seated patron brought me their extra chair. Very loud but whatever. Service was slow but friendly enough. The small bar was busy and only had the one bartender/server. Was really imagining slices of the medium-rare local steak I ordered. This salad was about as meh and not rare as they come. I mean, look at it. Kinda sad nearly well-done Cubed steak over almost only romaine. Tiny bits of carrot strings and cucumber. A bunch of croutons. Dressings weren't so great either. And pretty expensive at $25! Not even close to worth $35 for salad and a beer. I think this place is normally pretty good. The restaurant upstairs looked pretty nice. My experience was just mediocre, at Best. Do reservations if you want to try their steak. And hopefully go on a night when there's a chef that knows what medium rare means. read more

I've been here several times, both for breakfast and dinner. I've never been disappointed. Service has always been good and the food is great. You'd never know it sits above a casino. Loved this steakhouse. Wanted to go to the 'best restaurant in town' and my friends brought me here. Our waitress was very kind & patient and seemed pleased to serve us. Started off w a delicious side salad w yummy bleu cheese dressing. Then it came time to order- we were torn between all the amazing steaks so we decided to each try a different one. From the largest steak on the menu (rib eye) to the filet mignon to the 8 oz sirloin everything was cooked to perfection! I think the steaks tasted extra good because they come straight from their own cattle ranch. I was blown away by the juiciness of the steaks and how they were simply melt in your mouth delicious. The loaded mashed potatoes were delicious although I also would've loved some gravy! :) ** please do my friend a favor and ORDER THE SCALLOPED POTATOES!!! She insists these are the best ever made! I really enjoyed dining here. I was very impressed by the quality of the local steaks and the service was excellent. I really enjoyed the blueberry mojito. It was very refreshing! The bread that they brought out was pretty stale and cold so I'd skip eating that. The crust on the filet mignon was perfect and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. It was one of the best steaks I've ever had! It came with two sides and I decided to get the Mac n' Alfredo and the sauce was made in house and was very delicious and filling. The crème brûlée had a great flavor and a nice sugar crust but it was a very odd texture. It was almost as if tapioca or bread pudding was added to it. I'd definitely recommend coming here especially for the local steaks! read more

I stayed at the hotel attached to this steak house and dropped in to JT's for dinner after a 10 hour drive. It was busy, especially considering I went on a Sunday night. Two groups of 4-6 were seated right before me. I (solo) flagged down the waitress and explained that I'm starving and would like my order to go in ahead of the two groups. She didn't bat an eye and said that was fine! I had a steak sandwich and a side salad and they were both great. I had a beer and afterwards went downstairs to the casino pub for another. Everybody I met, the bus boy the waitress snd two bartenders downstairs were great. Highly recommend JT's for a nice relaxing dinner after a long drive. read more

Unpretentious steak restaurant, obviously popular with locals and visitors alike. One of the best burgers I ever ate (it was the blend of beef cuts, and the caramelized onion). The side-a giant portion of alfredo mac-was beyond delicious! My drink, a watermelon mule mocktail, was so good that I will be making them at home! Ate here on a work trip and it was decent. The New York Strip was tender but almost too tender if that makes sense. Had a strange texture so I wouldn't get it again. The sides were better, the Mac-Alfredo was the best part of the meal so if I ate here again I would just get that most likely. The wait steady is really good though and very friendly. They made me a cocktail off the non alcohol menu but I had them make it with vodka and it was great. Maybe I'm used to higher end steakhouses but the atmosphere being insure a tiny casino with smoke filtering in and hotel rooms 5 feet from the restaurant entrance was not ideal. read more

Located inside the Copper Queen Ramada by Wyndham hotel, you can find JT's Steakhouse. Decor and ambiance might leave something to be desired. HOWEVER, the food was delicious! I ate breakfast two times, sampling the basic two-egg breakfast with sausage patty and then steak (sirloin) and eggs. Both came with potato medallions and all were absolutely fantastic. Tried dinner here twice as well, having barbecue shrimp (which didn't really seem barbecued but were OUTSTANDING) and the New York strip dinner with sides of Mac and Alfredo (unbelievably good) and brussel sprouts. The steak was excellent. Apparently they source everything locally, especially their beef from Perigo Farms. Perigo beef made such an impression, we will be ordering it to be shipped to our home. Staff was different at every one of our visits and were all friendly and delightful. Sampled the Whiskey Sunset cocktail, also awesome. If you are staying in Ely and need to find a spot to eat once, this place should be at the top if the list. read more

For the price paid and quality of food/service delivered this place ended up being our least favorite stop in Ely, NV. Both my wife and I ordered virtually the same dish. Two sirloin steaks (one cooked medium, the other medium rare), one baked potato with no dairy (no cheese, no sour cream and no bacon, just extra butter), one order of mashed potatoes, side of asparagus, side salad, two watermelon mule mocktails, for dessert one strawberry cheesecake and one strawberry lemonade cake. Total: $113.65 + tip. After making a reservation and being asked if we had one we sat down in a virtually empty room that had only two other tables with patrons. We were provided with two small glasses of ice water and two bread rolls. The friendly waitress came over and took our order and I finished off my glass of water. Once the food arrived we immediately had problems. Although we had ordered that the baked potato not to have any dairy, it was smothered with sour cream, cheese, and topped with bacon bits. Not to be a complainer, my wife decided to just scrape off the dairy and bacon. Then there was the steak issue - although we had ordered the exact same cut my wife's steak was about 1/4 of an inch thick while mine was about 1 inch thick. As we ate we enjoyed the watermelon mule mocktails but I also wanted water and my glass remained empty the entire meal except for the ice slowly melting. When someone came and asked how the meal was, yes we fibbed, but I asked for water, that never came. Overall, the food was very lopsided and didn't come out as we had ordered it. The desserts were tasty but at $12.00 each nothing to be excited about. Sadly, we left feeling that the best thing we enjoyed at JT's Steakhouse was the Watermelon Mule Mocktail. read more

JT's Steakhouse is absolutely amazing!!!! If you haven't been you should stop by and give them a try. Cross cut ribs with chimichurri was extremely flavorful. Bruschetta was delectable with all their fresh ingredients. It's a perfect warm weather bite. The rib eye steaks were cooked to perfection and seasoned to perfection I can't forget to mention the Caesar salad which was a surprisingly generous serving and equally delicious. We'll be back soon. We had dinner here on May11th 2025 Reservations were not required as it was not super busy. We had the Ribeye Steak and the Sirloin Steak on a baked potato. Very small, quaint, western theme decor. Not a fan of their bread or butter. Butter tasted like margarine. The steaks however, were some of the best we've ever had. This was exceptional! I usually don't order sirloin but this was next level. The ribeye was the largest I've ever seen. Both cuts were excellent. We shared the Crème Brûlée which was good. Prices were rated $$$. We found it more than reasonable. We also ordered some of the products from their ranch. It was that good! We had breakfast here one morning. I'm not sold on breakfast here. Coffee was $5 ea.which was high. We ordered biscuits and gravy which was average at best. I ordered an English Muffin, that was under cooked twice. Breakfast menu was limited and $$$ in comparison to their dinner menu. Skip breakfast but dinner is next level. read more
