Stopped here for lunch. My biggest complaints are that it is in a casino so people can smoke right outside the restaurant and the sandwiches are SO big and they give you tons a fries. Maybe a good problem to have? None of us even ate half our fries, which I think were homemade and pretty delicious. My chicken Philly seemed really salty but everyone else liked their food. Located inside the Jailhouse Casino this restaurant is innovative and fun! Our waitress was so nice, friendly and fast. My husband got a coffee and myself a tea since we came in for Breakfast. Very well themed to the Jailhouse aesthetic as well! We split their Aptly named Big Breakfast Burrito which was more than enough for two people to eat. This burrito is not your average breakfast. Instead of just a tortilla, it is a full on quesadilla that your sausage, eggs, bacon and cheese is nestled into! Truly a breakfast that can't be beat! They also serve it with a tasty little salsa that added just the perfect little acidic brightness to the burrito. Overall, this was a fantastic place to come for breakfast and we would love to come back to try move of their yummy looking menu! read more

They moved! To the Jailhouse Casino. Very nice place, still very friendly and great service. Food continues to be superb. Smash burgers are fresh and hot, we had French fries with a generous amount provided. Well appointed, good music playing allowing for conversations without being drowned out. They service breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week (closed Sunday at 3pm). read more

First off, the service is amazing! I had the best mushroom/Swiss burger that I've ever eaten. The hamburger patty was way bigger than the bun, and so flavorful. The French fries are crunchy and well seasoned. My husband had the gyro and said it was fresh and tasty. Great atmosphere and would definitely come back. read more

Super good food! The portions were great and the servers were very nice. Clean restaurant and good seating options for all kinds of group sizes. Biggest downside was that it was in the casino so it smelled of smoke. If that's not something you're ok with it may not be a good option for you. Food was great though! read more

This place is a little hard to find, but totally worth the search! Smash and grab restaurant is located inside the Jailhouse Casino on fifth Street. Kids of all ages allowed! We ordered three breakfast dishes: burger Bennie, country omelet, and breakfast burrito. All were exceptional. Seriously. We didn't expect much from this sleepy town but we're happily surprised by this cuisine. Also check out the Garnet Hill if you like rock hounding. Just a few miles up the road. read more

Great restaurant! Food was on point, with large portions. The deep fried pickles were light breaded and not over done, served with a spicy aïoli. Passing through Ely Nevada while on vacation. Decided to stop here due to the 5 star ratings and very good reviews. I had the patty melt. It was very good as well as the Mac n cheese. This place was so good! It's located inside of the Jailhouse Motel and Casino so the decor is very fitting. The service was outstanding, staff was super friendly and attentive. When in Ely make the smart choice, eat at Smash N Grab. Breakfast, lunch or dinner it's the right choice. While we started out with dinner here and had a great burger and cheesesteak sandwich we returned for a pleasant surprise for breakfast. We made the mistake of eating at the chain across the street the day before. Don't make the same mistake we did. Stop in and see Tasha for great service and enjoy the well made fresh food. read more

The last time I ate at Evah's (located inside the Ramada) back in 2013, it was an Italian restaurant. Fast forward 10 years and now we have the Smash n Grab. I'm in total agreement with the previous reviewers, the hamburger is an amazingly fresh and excellent tasting meal. The bun was so soft and fresh! I tried the Spicy Smash w fries. As much as I loved my meal, it really wasn't spicy like I thought it might be, but the flavor itself was excellent. Also, I was fairly early after opening, and it wasn't very busy this night. My meal came out in less than 10 minutes. Service was excellent. The fries are so well made and crisp! I had to stop eating them because they do give you way plenty. They bring you ketchup and fry sauce to the table. Fry sauce was great tasting if I do say so myself. No liquor served in the dining area but you are allowed to bring it in yourself from the lower casino floor. They are only open 4-9 pm everyday but Sunday. Sunday is closed. read more

This is the best food in Ely, and it is possibly a top 5 burger of all time. The patty is cooked perfectly with gooey cheese and the correct toppings. Also, the bun is delicious. Beyond the burger, the fries are perfect. Golden and crispy, just the way fries should be. Fantastic food. read more

First off, this place is inside the Jailhouse Casino in case you're having trouble finding it. That being said, these are excellent burgers. Well-seasoned, great browning, and awesome array of options. Also the singles are 8 oz patties so they are plenty to eat. If you're thinking of a double, just remember that this ain't McD's. A burger so good I had to dust off my Yelp account. I happened to go by the Chamber of Commerce and spoke to someone there as I passed through and she recommended the family-owned Smash and Grab. I wasn't hungry yet, but they were going to close so I made sure to get a to-go order in: Smash burger with American. My expectations weren't high, but I was completely blown away. An absolute ELITE smash burger. It's the most notable one that I can remember having. Killer bun (a must), huge patty, properly seasoned with great char. Shredded lettuce and tomato provided the perfect contrast. I didn't eat many places in Ely, but if someone I knew went through Ely and didn't try this burger, I would give them hell! We stopped here on our road trip and picked this restaurant based on the 4.9 stars great Yelp reviews. But let me tell you, it's a very creepy town. You feel like you're in an Area 51 alien occupation town. The place is located inside the Jailhouse Casino which we didn't know so we kept walking trying to find it. There was a homeless lady outside the place screaming how the police in this town are corrupt and did all these horrible things to her family. So I have to deduct one star because of the location. But the food and service itself is 5 stars! The burger was excellent and my husband liked his Philly cheese steak. It's just not a family friendly restaurant being located inside a casino. read more

I've been to Ely many times on business and usually I eat Subway or at Hometown Pizza, but tonight, I had a craving for a real good burger. (No fast food, thank you!) Found out about this place on Yelp and based on the reviews, I gave it a shot. So glad I did!! Yes, it's a little hard to find, as it's buried in the Jailhouse casino. I sat myself at the counter and right away was given a menu and they took my drink order. I ordered the original Smash with cheese. First off, the patty was BIGGER than the bun; excellent start! After that it just got better! Excellent flavor, juicy, and the fries, which appeared to be overdone, were in fact delicious. I equate the burger to Smash Brothers, which is a compliment.. Overall, a fantastic experience, and as some have said, it is in the casino so you will smell cigarette smoke. But as an ex-smoker myself, that doesn't bother me. This will be my go-to burger joint from here on out! read more

Tip - when staying for the free breakfast take the option of applying five dollars off of any menu item instead of the free breakfast. It's pretty skimpy. Four of my friends and I went to dinner here last Friday night and while we were waiting to be served they were complaining about the last time they had been in and how long it took to get there food. This time was no exception. The place was somewhat busy and I believe there was only one waitress. The atmosphere was noisy, the waitress was friendly and on top of it as she could be. The food was average and took a while to get. This being said it is Eureka NV with not many choices for places to work or eat so if you decide to stop in you will have to just grin and bare it.

Interior was nothing special, felt a little dirty. Had to ask for condiments. My hubbys cheeseburger was good but my chicken Philly cheesesteak had gigantic chicken slices so I can't pick it up and bite into it without the chicken falling out. I'm used to small, shredded pieces of chicken in a cheesesteak! Lemonade tastes like cough syrup. Afterwards, I had the worst stomachache the whole way home back to California. I know it's the desert but I would skip. PS: what is up with all the broken and chipped plates??? This shows this place truly does not care about the perception and the dining experience. Check out my broken chipped plate. My hubbys plate was worst with multiple chipped spots, can't see too well but check out his cheeseburger picture, you can see a chip on his plate.

An older gentleman had been standing at the counter for about 20 minutes and hadn't been acknowledged at all. Staff were focused on the drive-thru and not paying attention to customers inside. When I asked if we could order at the counter, the manager came over with noticeable attitude. The gentleman ordered first, and I appreciated being able to help him get some service. Not everyone is comfortable using the kiosks, especially across different generations--and in this case, he only had cash. That should never mean being ignored. Once I got my sauce, I went back to wait for my order. The manager later came outside with a sheepish smile, which honestly felt like she knew the situation hadn't been handled well. I get that drive-thru can be busy, but completely ignoring in-store customers--especially someone waiting that long--is not okay.

If you're a carnivore, ketovore, keto, or LCHF enthusiast, look no further--this place is a must-visit! We enjoyed their mouthwatering burgers (no bun) topped with cheddar cheese and perfectly crispy fried chicken wings with no coating or breading. What really stood out was how accommodating they were to our specific food preferences--true attention to detail! The food was not only delicious but also priced very fairly, making it an excellent value. To top it off, the service was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend for anyone who loves quality food and excellent service. We'll definitely be back! read more

Smash N Grab offers a great variety of smash burgers and hot sandwiches. My kids love the smash burger with topped with mac 'n cheese. I can't resist the Philly Cheese Steak. All of the sandwiches are served with a generous helping of hot fresh fries. Don't miss out on the dessert specials. The fried oreos are always a treat worth looking forward to.
