Belly up the grill

What a wonderful find in a remote part of the desert! First off, Great Basin National Park is free and beautiful so go check it out. This little cafe is right next to the Lehman Cave Visitor Center. Serves both breakfast and lunch. Large general store that services souvenir and camping needs. Family run business. I had the pleasure of watching the Dad teach his son to run the cash register. I loved it. Food was FANTASTIC. I had the breakfast bowl with green chilies and it was oh so good. Shout out to Charles White at the grill!! Avoid the Border Inn and come straight here for breakfast. PS Board gamers! Come here for your fix. You won't believe the selection!

Hard to beat craft beer from nevada, good prices on food in a National park, and a gift shop. Staff was super friendly. I was grateful to find a good meal after a long day hiking.

It was great to find a lace to get a little bite right at the entrance of the Lehman Caves located in the Great Basin National Park. Because I'd eaten earlier on my road trip, I just had a simple bowl of their homemade style potato soup, which was like a clam chowder without the clams. It hit the spot and was very tasty. Nice little place with a lot of souvenirs too. And, surprisingly, they serve wine and beer. It's good the Great Basin National Park is in Nevada and not 30 miles to the east where it wouldn't be possible to get a drink in a place like this!

What more could you want at the mouth of Lehman Caves? Hot, cooked to order, fresh, and tasty. Do not be afraid to bring your appetite to this location and enjoy just before you go into the caves. But do plan accordingly because everything is cooked to order and it may take longer than you've allowed yourself. We had a great visit, as it was snowing on April 22, 2022 and we had come along way to enjoy the Caves. This establishment helped enhance our visit.

Please turn down the music. I know it might be your favorite song, but "I don't want to miss a thing" when it comes to conversing with my family and planning out our day at the park. Even the kids complained they couldn't hear themselves think. :-) Good service, good food, and huge portions! Would love if there was an outside shaded eating area too. The view is five stars!

This place is cute & cozy. Stopping to camp in the park for a couple nights after visiting SLC, I made sure to eat my last breakfast at the café. My meal was simple, yet delicious, and the staff was quite friendly. A restaurant, gift shop, and game store rolled into one, I found out that the establishment is privately owned and not technically run by the park, but that each tenant is contracted to occupy the space for a certain amount of time. I loved the selection of T-shirt's, souvenirs, stickers, first aid items, toys, snacks, and even board games they had to offer. They also have a full-service coffee bar with espresso drinks, for those millennials (or boomers, or Gen-X'ers, or Z's...) like me who CAN go without their coffee, but appreciate having the option in the middle of nowhere, too ;) Will definitely be back next time I visit Great Basin!

Nice little cafe located at Great Basin National Park, next to the Lehman Caves visitor's center. They carry a full menu, a great selection of beer/cider/wine, and an assortment of packaged candy/nuts/snacks. Since there aren't many choices for restaurants for many miles, this was an obvious choice for us after our cave tour at Lehman Caves. But their food is really good and all of their prices are super reasonable! Would highly recommend this cafe to anyone visiting the Great Basin/Lehman Caves area!

This is the best cafe I've ever been to in a national park. No Xterra here, no Costco burgers, no lousy food this place could easily get away with. I had a smoked brisket sandwich--smoked by the head chef--and homemade potato chips, all eaten while looking over this beautiful vista. They also make some nice-looking milkshakes as well as their own bread to accompany the salads and soups. Really nice service, and be sure to check out the excellent sticker and game selection.

Just what we needed after our hike! A place to sit down, gulp down some ice cold water and enjoy some food. It is conveniently located at Great Basin National Park, next to the visitor center. There aren't many food options in Baker, NV, so it's a good idea to stop here.

The number of items on their menu has decreased significantly. They used to have salads and such but no more.

Food is greasy service is okay. Never anywhere to sit. Leans towards kid food which is great if you are a family.

Quick, friendly service. Loved the crispy chicken bacon wrap! Very tasty! Great price especially considering we are in a national park!

The servers were next-level friendly and prompt despite the dinner rush, they have some fun art, and it's a peaceful place. I really loved the green beans, and another favorite item was the apricot sorbet. They make a ton of items, which is very cool. I only wish they had a few more dairy-free items (especially for breakfast), but what they do offer is far better than expected for this remote location- it would stand up in any metro area. My husband raved about the root beer float, pasta, and pizza. Dinner is sit-down and if you go for breakfast or lunch, it's counter service. They have an extremely well-stocked bar- we didn't partake, but many around us did, and drinks looked excellent.

The owners are selling the restaurant so the great looking food on the website and in yelp pictures is no longer offered. The menu consisted of burgers, pizza, the saddest brisket ever, ravioli, and some salads. The ravioli and pizza were ok at best. The brisket was pretty awful. While there are some pretty neat old pictures inside, the rest of the restaurant decor seems really random. The lady that served us seemed nice and was on top of bringing us everything we ordered in a timely manner. We weren't able to try the homemade ice cream sandwiches as there seemed to be some kind of problem with the freezer. Will not return.

The location is perfect, the food was great and the customer service was very good and friendly. This was our second night staying at the Prospector Hotel. We ate dinner at Margarita's on both of our stays (within the same week going to and coming back from Idaho) with breakfast this morning on our second stay. The staff were quite friendly and all were on their game and attentive. The food was very good and abundant. I had the Mexican Rib-eye steak last night and it was cooked a perfect medium rare. Breakfast this morning was Machaca and Eggs. Lots of it perfectly cooked and great to taste. Oh, and their salsa is outstanding! We'll be back if we ever head this way again. Margarita's was outstanding and so was the Prospector Hotel and Gambling Hall. They're both a gem in north-central Nevada!

First off, the poor kid at the host desk was visible flustered. Despite only a few customers in the restaurant. He was nice, but I felt like an inconvenience. Second, there is a $1.75 charge to go. I saw it when I paid the bill and thought, okay there's paper plates and to go boxes. I get it. But in reality, there should be a discount because you don't get chips and salsa with to-go orders. Third, our dishes were packaged to go by squishing them between plates. Gross, plus we list done of our food because it stuck to the top plate. Fourth, the quality of food is severely lacking. The nacho chips are cheap, low quality tortillas that just aren't worth the calories. The top of the nachos initially apparent have a decent amount of topping, but the reality is that once the top chips were consumed, all that was left were the crumby naked chips and they weren't even crispy. The steak fajitas were "ok". But nothing great and the steak pieces were too large and difficult to chew. Next time we are in Ely, we'll try a different place.
