How is *every* employee dirty, disheveled, and appear to be on the second day of a methadone detox? The odds are staggering. The law of averages would suggest that at least one employee would not have a permanent 1000 yard stare, or would know how to groom themselves. This DQ really is a statistical oddity. Look, you've gotta be nuts to order hot food at any DQ, let alone this one in Clinton. I figure if you're starving, you'd at least consider hitting a soup kitchen before DQ, but some are less risk-adverse than me. My problem is the ice cream. It's SOFT SERVE! They don't make it in house or anything. It's not like there is a pastry chef who comes in at 6 AM and is painstakingly making custard, checking the flavor, and adding all of the special ingredients to make sure it's just right. The ex-convicts working there have two very important steps: step one - pull the bag of soft serve ice cream from the DQ factory out of the freezer. Step two: open the bag and pour it into the soft serve machine. That's it. There's nothing more to it. They can't seem to do that correctly. The thing that prompted me to write, the review was when I went to order an ice cream cake for my kid. One of the filthy scoundrels behind the counter obviously saw me come in. She then stood there like a statue, complete with 1000 yard stare, and remained completely silent. I made direct eye contact with her, and we stared each other down, both of us refusing to speak. While I lost that little game of chicken, because I just wanted to get the thing ordered so I could leave. So I blinked first and ordered my ice cream cake. I returned two days later to pick up my ice cream cake, and came face-to-face with a different woman at the counter. Have no fear, dear reader, she had the same 1000 yard stare and also refused to speak. When I stated my ice cream cake business to her, she wordlessly sauntered off, never to return. After about 10 minutes of reconsidering my life choices that brought me to this Dairy Queen in Clinton, Missouri, I was awakened from my reverie by yet, if you can believe it, another disheveled worker, who screamed "CAKE!" I made eye contact with this third employee who held my gaze for about two seconds before wordlessly turning around and walking away. She never even asked if I paid for it. As I was leaving, I said to the only other customer in the building " this is the worst Dairy Queen in America." he looked at me, and said "yeah." It's safe to say I'll never go back. I am looking forward to the DQ manager's reply to this review. I hope that they copy and paste the same non-apology response that they put on every bad review. They really work hard at the little things. The details, the things that separate themselves from the competition. Don't believe me?
