This place is the definition of what pizza should be. Loaded the pizza with sausage, you couldn't fit another piece on it. In today's world of pizza you can count how much sausage is on each piece but not here. Great taste, great price, excellent service. Clinton is lucky to have this place. To start off, first impressions I believe are extremely important. Apparently the owners of this place agree. The first thing you notice as you approach the restaurant is how clean and well kept the building and property always is. When you enter the building you see the inside is also very clean it also smells great. The people are always very clean, well informed and some of the nicest people you could ever want to meet. That only leaves the salads, sandwiches and pizzas to talk about. It is my opinion you could travel great distances in several different directions and not find the quality Randal and his crew serve. The traditional "thin crust" will take you back to the best of old-school pizza parlors, with arcade games and a wonderful mix of locals celebrating the latest ball game and folks headed through town stopping off for a mid-roadtrip feast. PROS Pizza Glen consistently puts out some of the best pizza I've ever had, full stop. They offer two crust styles: thin and deep dish. The thin isn't a cracker crust (like St. Louis style), but what I would call "traditional pizza parlor" -- hearty enough to keep the slice from drooping, with toppings that stretch almost all the way to the edge. They offer deep dish, which is a rectangle / square cut pie. It looks hearty and delicious, but I've always ordered the traditional thin -- and I probably always will. On your crust of choice you get just over a dozen choices of toppings. There are no trendy toppings here, just the classics. No flashily named specialty pies either, just a simple menu with a price for each size and how much for each additional topping. Don't let the lack of a "flavor of the day" approach dissuade you, however, because Pizza Glen doesn't skimp -- on anything! The pies are piled high with your favorite toppings, tons of cheese, and a simple and tasty sauce that brings it all together. They also offer salads (if you can call something that has enough cheese and pepperoni on top that you can't see the lettuce a "salad") and sandwiches, but let's be honest -- you're here for pizza! Theres a Lunch special about $7.00 gets you a personal pizza and small salad. Everyone else got light cheese but not me I wanted to try all the cheese gloriousness that I heard about. So I got the special with a personal pizza with 2 toppings and a salad with all the cheese gloriousness. I loved it!!! The crust to the pizza was crispy and not soft or soggy in any way, I was in pizza heaven. The salad was also amazing, with all the cheese and all. Ok my family loves this place and has been going here for many years. I always try to skip the family event if possible, but this was were my nephew chose for his birthday celebration meal. So we made the 45 minute drive and knew going in we didn't like the pizza here. Well it actually was pretty good and much better than we remembered. I still wouldn't drive 45 minutes to eat here, but considering I use to think it was the worst pizza to have to drive that far for I can now say if I'm asked to go again for a family event I won't be so apprehensive. We have always enjoyed eating at PG! The last 2 times we have gotten it to go. The salads have been almost all cheese. There is usually a balance but I have thrown out the last 2. The mini pizzas are still yummy but they wrap them in plastic and if you have a drive to your house and is any distance they get soggy. Hubby said no more to goes from PG. read more

Five stars for the flavor of the pizza, and the absolutely amazing "salads" which feature a delicious amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over a healthy helping of crisp iceberg lettuce. Okay, so it's probably not that "healthy", but it is absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious. Minus one star for it being 2021 and they still stubbornly and obstinately refuse to accept debit or credit cards, when literally everyone else on the planet does. If you order supreme pizza you better tell them what you don't want on it otherwise you're going to get everything out and only comes including anchovies and jalapeños and green peppers. I made mistake of telling them tonight I didn't want green peppers on it when I went to pick up my pizza I realize they had put anchovies and jalapeños on it. I offered to pay for the second pizza because it was my fault they wouldn't here for it they remade pizza for free and gave it to me without charging for the second pizza. I was passing through, and I followed fellow yelpers' advice to this quaint little hole in the wall pizzeria. The dimly lit restaurant, exposed kitchen, partially rounded dinning room, and charming service all set my expectations fairly high for a unique townie lunch experience...I will go ahead and say that the result was a bit of a disappointment. I began my meal with the highly regarded salad. This iceberg lettuce mountain, capped with a heap of mozzarella cheese was actually my biggest letdown of the experience... (I declined those damn artificial bacon pebbles). It was served on a plate so small, that consuming it meant also leaving a ring of salad debris on the table. Though the cheese was soft and fresh and the lettuce was crisp, there was nothing special about this salad. I can dump out a whole bag of shitty iceberg lettuce and then dump a bag of cheese on top of it at home, and the result would be nearly the same... How about roasted peppers, roma tomatoes, red onion, or grilled mushrooms on a salad? These are all ingredients that a pizza restaurant would have at any given time... Next came the personal sized pizza. This was easily better than the salad, and I think I would describe it adequately be calling it "good enough." The pizza was prepared well, and had the usual ingredients. The crust was crunchy and airy and it had a light cracker quality. It was a satisfying and simplistic carrier for the pizza ingredients... My only complaint about the pizza was it's averageness. I would love to see a tad more herbaceous and lively result. For a pretty lack luster, hole of a town it would be pretty tragic if this is "as good as it gets" for ole' Clinton... I will say that the prices at Pizza Glen extremely reasonable, and you can expect at least a typical pizza experience. read more

It isn't some trendy bistro serving gormet entrees, it's a pizza parlor that does the classics better than anyone else. I've eaten here since I was a child and nothing has changed and I like it that way. It's a small family owned and operated place that makes everyone feel welcome. The salads are phenomenal! I have no idea why these simple salads taste so amazing, but I find myself craving them and making special trips (I live in KC) to get one. The pizza is great, the crust is my favorite. They also have a few tasty sandwiches, if you aren't in the mood for pizza. The service is amazing as well. When I was like 5 or 6 years old, I would ask our usual waitress (one of the owners, I believe) for extra pepperoni on my salad, to this day, she still loads up my salads with as much pepperoni as the plate will allow, without my asking. If you are looking for a truly family-owned establishment, this is it. It has been in Clinton by the same family since 1976. And while it doesn't look like much has changed on the inside- I found it charming and nostalgic. My friend and I ordered the small salad and it was big enough to split! I could take or leave the "baco bits", but loved the iceberg lettuce with cheese and creamy Italian dressing. We also split a small deep dish, and each had two square pieces leaving the rest to take home! The crust was awesome and the toppings were good (we had pepperoni and green peppers).
