My partner got a footlong and I got a 6". We had different people helping us, and both of our subs were fine. My main complaint is that my sub was not toasted enough and soggy by the last bite, while my partner's sub was adequately toasted and crunchy to the last bite. read more

An average place. It was a bit slow going, and we were the front of the line. No one seemed to be in any hurry to make our sandwiches. They did get them right though The place was clean, and quiet. The Tesla charging station is right in their parking lot. It will be a quick and easy place for a quick stop over if you need as you go along I-5 read more

Worst Subway ever!!!! Asked at "dinner" time if they would do a breakfast sandwich. Of course no problem, until you go to pay for it. Now it is regular sandwich with egg added. Menu price for breakfast is 4.19, they charged 5.19 plus 1.50 for added egg. When I questioned it 3 ladies started talking in their native tongue and came up with this bullshit how the regular sandwich is a bigger scoop of meat than the breakfast sandwich. But none of the 3 made it and they didn't ask the young man who did. Beware don't go read more

Subway - Feeling a little price gouged. I ordered a footlong roast beef & turkey sandwich, a small drink and chips and it came to $15.18! - Sandwiches Near Me - Buttonwillow, California

The worst service from the owner. We got 3 combos with chips and drinks and then he accused us of stealing a cup. My son accidentally got an extra cup then he put it back and he started questioning my 10 year old instead of talking to me. My kids got scared 1 because of his time and 2 because he's missing an arm and apparently a piece of his brain too. He repeated the other to me 5 times and kept staring at my kids as if they were gonna take more stuff. I hope this man gets some real training. He can't count right, he can't ad right and then he accuses people of taking stupid cheap cups. Never again am I coming here. read more

Subway branded fresh baked bread with plenty of fixings. This is not the case for the Buttonwillow Subway. The Italian roll was dry and fixings very sparse. I ordered a turkey "make it deluxe" with lettuce, tomato, black olives, pickle and mayo and received a dried out sandwich that literally made me choke, required a splash of bad soda fountain Diet Coke. Add chips and cup for crappy soda and it costs nearly $10.00. Need to use the restroom? Better to visit another or be prepared to enter the set of the movie "Saw". Seriously, this is a horror show. People coming out with fear in their eyes will never be the same again. We travel the 5 a lot and since I have had issues with 4 of the 4 establishments on this exit I had better wake up and find another destination for food, gas and potty break. read more

Worst subway in all of history! Stingy portions. I requested "extra olives" and the "sandwich artist" placed 6 on my foot long. I told her "no, I said extra olives. Please add more". She must've sprinkled 2 or 3. We had to ask for more lettuce and more spinach because they basically sprinkle scraps on. We asked for one water cup and got the death glare. We asked for a knife and the cashier responds, "we're out of knives." This was after we clearly saw a box of knives on the bottom shelf behind him. We tell him "we see knives behind you. Please check again". He checks and grabs us a spoon. We respond "this is not a knife". He checks again and hands us a fork saying, "you can have this." Avoid this subway at all costs. There are plenty of other fast food options in this area. We're pretty tempted to report him to franchise. This place is an utter joke. read more

I stopped here due to Megabus' rest stop to get food and I should've gone to the taco truck instead. Service: Both employees had the same straightforward style with no smile and appeared to be taking a break because no one was at the front to help a customer. The problem here is the limited bread choices. I have never been to a Subway where they were out of bread choices. I understand that it's in the middle of nowhere, but at least state which ones are currently available. They did, however, refill the cheeses when I requested for it. I would have to agree that they skimp on the veggies. I have always found a way around this by ordering slowly one at a time so they take time in adding what you want. They also take the time to grab more if you just pause before each veggie. It's not being indecisive, it's about getting what you want. And it doesn't hurt to smile, then continue to add your favorite sauce and salt and pepper. Overall Taste: I always toast my sandwiches, and it tastes just the same. But all the meats look unappealing before the toast. I would recommend rethink getting steak, bacon, or anything that has been clearly sitting for more than 8 hours. Ambiance: It's just an awkward apace in such a large dining area to have 5 booths against the wall. Price: I don't frequent Subway after dinner hours but from what I could tell, they're promos are up to date. No more $5 footlongs like you read about, only $6 and it has to be a certain day for your favorite sandwich. Go here if you have 5 minutes to grab a sandwich. Go next door to be satisfied. read more

Asked a simple question regarding the flavor of the wraps themselves and they had no clue what I was asking. I just said nevermind and ordered what looked good. Lady did not roll my wrap correctly either. One of my favorite Subways which is in Lost Hills, CA exit was blocked off so I had to come to this location. We had some issues hearing and communicating our orders with the staff. Also pretty sparse toppings (even for a Subway). Next time, if we're craving Subway off I-5, we'll try another exit. read more

Let's assume the entire staff is having a bad day and give them a pass on that... These guys have less bread, veggie, and cheese selections than any other subway. What selection you do have, they give you very little of. Ordered a steak and cheese and the steak ( which they store in the little paper bowl) didn't have enough to cover the bread. Most people won't stop to read this review while rolling to and from LA, but if you do, avoid this subway. read more

Man, the management here is really skimping. Subway is supposed to offer at least 5 kinds of bread. I know because I used to work for one. They only had white and white with jalapeño. Then they were out of water cups but refused to give me a normal cup for water without charging for it, which is a pretty basic courtesy to customers who are buying sandwiches and chips. There were flies landing on the food as it was being prepared and almost every table was dirty. The guy who rang me up and denied the cup was talking on his personal cell phone, but the line was backed up across the bar. There were only two people working, so I think the management is just trying to squeeze all the money they can out of this place which is what's wrong with many chains these days, and I don't recommend anyone go here. read more

Horrible sandwich. Absolutely no meat - seriously a footlong turkey should have a decent amount of turkey not a few slices spread out! I am eating a bread and veggie sandwich. Will never return here. You can tell she was taught to skimp. Same with cheese. Two small wedges!? Unacceptable. But when I asked for jalapeños she's grabbed over 20 to slap on! Hide the lack of meat? read more

My daughter and I stopped at the Subway in Button Willow on our way to Corona to visit family. Loved this experience! The restaurant is clean and inviting, well stocked. I don't know her name but a young lady helped us and she was delightful! Our sandwiches were delicious and fresh! Best lemonade I've ever had at a Subway! Actually, I thought the drink selection was extensive. We met the owner, Gurjit Singh (Gary), and he was very nice, warm and friendly. This will be our new go-to spot for when we travel through :-) read more

Horrible service Ordering process was painful and slow. Sandwich "artists" seemed to have little to to no care over the sandwiches. And best of all, we had multiple other drinks on our receipt! unacceptable! read more

This is the worst experience I've had at a subway my whole life. The bread was stale and HARD. Two different breads. When I went back to get a refund, I was denied my refund because no on in the store was "taught to do refunds". And then the guy proceeded to try to convince me that the bread was just made. Was sent my way with the stale food and no refund. Going to be calling corporate for my money back since no one in store is going to be knowledgeable enough to do basic customer service. read more

This Subway used to in a gas station but now has moved to a brand new building that is very nice. The other reviewer talks about a TCBY in the place and that is not the Buttonwillow Subway. There is another Subway some 50- 70 miles north which is in a gas station and has a TCBY so I believe the other negative review is of the Subway further north. I pretty much agree with that review of that store. This place moves people very fast. They make great sandwiches and pile on the veggies. The building is clean and this is an excellant place to take a break on your LA to SF trip. read more

When you first walk in this subway you think everything will be okay. It's clean, air conditioned, well lit and looks better than your average subway. But it won't be. To start off, while selecting my bread I was informed that they were out of all breads except for two. Okay then, whatever, I just want my sandwich. The guy starts making my meatball sub and I can tell he's scraping the bottom of the container. Only after giving me the last three meatballs does he tell me I won't be getting a full sandwich. You've got to be kidding right? Nope. Well can I get a new sandwich? Nope. I had to pick another meat choice to have a half and half sandwich. Wow this sucks but whatever, I trudge on. While making my sandwich the guy is steadily talking to his coworker and as a result leaves out items from my sandwich and is reminded by her to go back and put them on. Everything seems okay until I get to the register. As she rings up I see I am charged extra, in addition to the price of two 6 inch subs. So you mean I get to pay extra for your screw up? Yep. This place is bad. As the ratings reflect. Do yourself a favor and go to the quiznos next door, they probably won't screw you over there. read more

This Subway is located inside a gas station convenience store, so there is no seating area. However, it is convenient if you need a reasonably priced and quick bite to eat, as your only other options here are Jack-in-the-Box or more pricey convenience store items with fewer options. My order of a a foot-long chicken breast sandwich came out to be just under $8. Probably a bit pricier than your average Subway, but seemed (and tasted) like a healthier alternative to your traditional fast food. Service is a bit slow especially if they have even a little bit of a line. However, desperate times call for desperate measures so there is not much room to complain. read more

My husband is standing outside. The young woman worker is coming out with the trash cans. Gloves on hands, nice. Worst experience at any Subway I have ever been to. As we walk in we notice a man (probably the owner/manager) just sitting at a table. 1 lady behind the counter to make sandwiches. I leave my family at the counter to order and I use the restroom. That restroom was beyond disgusting, I would have rather used a portapotty that had been at a race track for a week and mever cleaned. Maybe the guy sitting could have used his time better and cleaned that nasty restroom. It was around 11am and they only had wheat bread available. So I order my sandwich (the new BBQ pork one) and right as order it the guy says it only comes with lettuce, onion (and 1 other veggie that I can't remember what he said) so I said if I want other veggies is there a charge? He says yes (are you kidding me right now) so I change my order to a different sandwich and get all the veggies. During this process my wife has already paid for our food and has gone out to the car with 1 bag of our food and I wait for the mine. As the girl who made our sandwiches was putting mine into the plastic bag and was grabbing a few napkins he s told her that he already gave the lady napkins. Really 2 more napkins would break the bank? This is 1 subway I will NEVER go back too. read more

Clean and nice Subway location. I don't know why the earlier reviews were so poor. Really convenient off the freeway, right next to Subway and Gas station. Typical Subway in the middle of nowhere. They have veggie patties, so I'm happy.

Would give zero stars if I could. Was blown away when I tried ordering a foot long all American club and told I can't pick my own veggies or cheese?!?! What?!?! I thought they were kidding they were not!!! The kid behind the counter with all the attitude said we don't customize! Sense when?!? Subways just got new stickers that literally say ______ way!! I was upset and walked out. Then after considering I decided to walk back in and get the store information because someone needs to know that's how customers are being treated!!! I walked back in a young girl very nicely gave me the owners number. His name was Greg is what I was told. Called Greg who explained that is the way the business runs not help to try and correct. I explained I eat regularly at subway 3-4 times a week and have never been told this. Mind you I wasn't trying to ask for anything crazy. All I wanted was to only have lettuce and pickles on this sandwich because I have a picky eater. I explained to Greg so he would know how his customers are being treated and it didn't seem to bother him. So justed wanted everyone to know. I don't know if they thing behaving this way is okay because this location was in buttonwillo so they get a lot of travels but not ok!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! read more

Very poor experience. Order was not made as requested on the app. when I went in to get it fixed the employee threw handfuls of veggies into my sub and used the knife he had been using to fold sandwiches on my sub-- which I had taken a bite of.
