I am so disappointed to leave this review. I discovered this place in the beginning of 2025 when work forced me to drive to Northern California. I have consistently come to this place as their breakfast burritos, tacos, pupusa, tamale, especially their chicken tamale wrapped in banana leaf and Chicharron are so good. Originally, I would just pull off the freeway and wait for my food. The last three times I've called beforehand realizing that I could save myself 20 minutes by calling before. This last time, the woman who answered the phone seemed to not understand me, which is OK I'm all good with language barriers, but when I arrived 20 minutes later to pick up my food as I typically order it 15 minutes getting off the Grapevine, not only was all of my food incorrect when I tried to explain that my food was incorrect. I was laughed at and argued with. I had paid for guacamole and was repeatedly told their free green salsa was the same? I have purchased guacamole before and asked for extra green sauce. I have spent well over $600 in the last year at this establishment just driving back-and-forth from northern to Southern California. I have told my friends and family about how good this place is. And all of them have stopped by, I was really disappointed in the way I was treated and the food I received. I will not be stopping by again sadly. I am so bummed as this was such a bright spot in the long drive either to work or getting extra tamales on the way home. read more

The pupusas are delicious. The beans are super flavorful!! There is a little wait of around 20-30 minutes for your food, but they are making your pupusas right there. From the little window, you can watch the senora making the food fresh. We got the pupusa especial (two pupusas and rice and beans), an extra pupusa, the quesadilla pan dulce, and a jamaica. We got a revuelta (pork and cheese), frijole (bean and cheese), and loroco (squash blossom and cheese). Of the three, the s tier was the loroco. It's has an almost meaty flavor and is super flavorful. The cabbage and salsa were also tasty. The quesadilla pan dulce is like a corn pound cake. It's really yummy!! This is a nice stop on your way between the bay and la. There's a covered picnic area that is nice. I've seen this spot for a long time over the years coming down to SoCal. Finally tried it and it was really good! This food truck is in a dirt lot with a couple other trucks. It took about 10 minutes to get my food but not too bad. $5 is a bit pricey but the pupusas are a good size. Overall it was a good and might go again but only stop if I had time to wait. read more

I came here in hopes to redeem my poor experience with another papusa place while driving around SoCal and this definitely exceeded my expectations!!!! Love how this spot is off the freeway and closes late. Huge papusas for $5 a piece and I don't even mind because they were delicious. So much cheese, the masa was seasoned like it didn't taste like flour, and above all both of the papusas I ordered were so juicy I can't even explain. Love the curtido & hot sauce, I knew I should've asked for more. The main complain I've been reading about this spot is the flies and that's why people docked stars from their review but hello it's not like the owners released them into the air at the dining table themselves. I don't really order pork and cheese papusas but I'm glad I did. I got one of those and a jalapeño and cheese. Both are delicious. We saw several truck drivers pick up food to go. We had a wait for our order even though there was no line at 12:45 pm on a Thursday. It appeared that there were many take-out telephone orders the cook had to prepare before we placed our order at the window. Outdoor seating under a metal canopy was chilly on a windy, early Spring day. If you want to park on the asphalt area on the north side of the truck, you have to drive around Motel 6 parking to find the opening entrance to the asphalt area, otherwise parking is in a dirt, very deep potholes, dusty lot or park on street. read more

We came here on a road trip stop! I didn't think the wait was long and the food was just what I needed to get through the rest of my drive to Southern California. Just be careful of the lot. Definitely a lot of pot holes. The pupusas were definitely the best thing we got! The tacos were good but the avocado salsa made them even better! We also tried the quesadilla, which is a Salvadoran dessert! I've had many quesadillas as my husband is El Salvadoran. This one was about a 4/5. Are here while we charged our car. It's located right off the freeway in an empty parking lot. We got the lengua tacos, asada torta and a cheese pupusa. Everything was absolutely delicious. I placed my order with a very friendly staff member about 40 minutes ahead of time. Our food was ready when we arrived. I paid and my family chose to eat at the rest stop an exit away. We had the pupusa especial. We ordered it with a plain cheese pupusa, a frijol pupusa, beans and rice. Additionally, we got an asada burrito. My family enjoyed our meal. My daughter said, "Tasty!" after every bite she took of the cheese pupusa. The curtido and salsa were delicious and a bit spicy. You'll see a food truck with a covered outdoor eating area immediately off the freeway to the left. It's a bit of a wait after you order, but the pupusas (jalapeño, revuelta, and loroco) and plátanos are amazing! I've stopped here twice already, going back and forth from SoCal to NorCal. I enjoyed my first visit more than my second. My second visit, the salsa was better. The taco shells from my first visit were bigger + dryer and didn't taste nearly as good as the shells from my second visit. I loved the salsa though. The avocado-ish one (middle) was really good + creamy, and the red one had good spice. I would definitely visit again to try a pupusa. The restaurant location was closed due to Covid restrictions. I was so happy that they set up a food truck and open tent dining. It's literally right off the freeway exit and you cannot miss it. We were wanting breakfast and went all in. The food was served piping hot was excellent and very satisfying. My favorite pupusa is loroco (those little green flowers and cheese together), - also got the revuelta (a mix of pork and cheese (although we asked for the beans to be added) - beans and cheese ( also very flavorful). Also got tacos with carnitas (shredded pork), al pastor (marinated pork), and lengua (tender chopped bits of beef tongue). Topped with fresh cilantro and chopped onion plus that spicy sauce! The food is good, but the wait can be long. That said, this is some down home Salvadoreño food. If you don't order pupusas, you're doing it wrong. The bean and cheese and the pork and cheese are so good, and they are HUGE! They basically take up the entire plate! They are made fresh and taste best hot off the grill. I'm not a fan of Salvadoran tamales, but the Mexican tamales are pretty good. Also freshly steamed, they come with pork and a nice salsa. It's spicy, though! The tacos are teeny tiny, but they are loaded with meat and only $2 each, so order up! There are two trucks in this lot. This one is in front. It's the blue one. They have outdoor seating that is covered, with a good amount of bench seating. There is also a dirt lot where you can park. Tita's pupuseria is a food truck surrounded by many other food truck options around the area and gas stations. Although a food truck, it has tables under a tent for people to enjoy their food. There are wash stations for your hands and trash cans for you to throw away your food. We got 2 pupusas - squash&cheese and bean&cheese. Overall, the pupusas are big, very cheesy, soft and doughy. I was definitely cheesed out after having these. The cabbage on the side helped balance the pupusas, but I felt the cabbage had been left out for awhile because there was this dryness factor to it. I've had better pupusas. In addition to the pupusas, we also got tacos. The red and green salsas were both delicious and complimented the tacos. We got asada, pastor, and lengua. The asada was the only one I felt was pretty good and would get again. The pastor felt leftover and the lengua was just okay. The tacos are mini sized in comparison to the ones you get in the bay. The size didn't bother me since the small tacos were well balanced out from the tortilla and meat. I actually prefer it at this smaller size. This place is pretty affordable and closed around 10 even though their yelp mentions differently - probably due to covid, but not sure. After a rather unremarkable food weekend in Paso Robles, hubby and I were looking forward to something good...when we got home. Hence, we were somewhat surprised when we stopped in at Tita's and got what we deemed the best carnitas we'd ever had. And we've had a lot. We got lucky and beat the lunch time rush. It got really busy a few minutes after we arrived so we counted our lucky stars. I think they even had to turn away a large party of 12 people because they just couldn't serve them. Back to the food. Hubby ordered the carnitas burrito which was the size of a baby. He dug into it and immediately exclaimed about the meat within. So I had to try and I agreed it was good. For myself, I ordered the caldo/sopa de res and the revuelta pupusa and the squash/cheese pupusa. In case you're new to this, that's a lot of food. Only slight complaint about the pupusas was that the masa was a little thick in areas and there wasn't enough filling. Flavor-wise, it was good. Their curtido differed from other versions in that there was lots of chili pepper in it but thankfully, it wasn't super spicy. It was just right. The soup was very flavorful and the beef shank in it was nice and tender. I ended up taking most of it to go and really enjoyed it as a snack later in the afternoon. Took a while to get out of there because they were busy, and understaffed and folks were confused about how to order (or sit and wait for table service).
