chorizo and egg breakfast burrito = yummy!
Fernando A.

I stopped in El Sobroso on my way to Carizzo Plain to see the wildflower bloom. Buttonwillow is the closest town, and there is no food or services for 70 miles until you hit the coast. So, I loaded up on a thiiiic breakfast burrito with egg and chorizo. It was very good. Homemade chorizo, plus cilantro, beans, and salsa. I hiked around and I am still stuffed in the late afternoon. Anyways, if you are in Buttonwillow and looking for some good Mexican food, this place is the spot!

With road trips and an electric vehicle, we're always looking for a food stop close to a charger. This review is for the take-out food experience. We ordered ceviche, carnitas tacos, chicken quesadilla, and Chile Relleno to go. No problems ordering and we got our food in about 15 minutes. Then we drove to the EV charging area about 5 miles away and started eating our food on top of the car. Not an ideal situation since it is HOT late spring in this area. Had a problem before we started eating - the bag was filled with red liquid when we took out the food. Ceviche was pretty liquidy and spilled all over the place. It should be placed in a soup cup with lid for to go orders. The food: Recommended without reservation: Chile Relleno - if you like cheese, this is your dish. Cheese to the max and very flavorful. Comes with rice and beans. Recommended: Ceviche - aside from the liquid disaster, the dish was pretty tasty. Very shrimp forward, but fresh tasting. Comes with some tostadas for texture. Could have been better: Chicken quesadilla - lots of chicken and cheese. My kids ate it without complaints. I found the meat to be a bit dry and the whole dish was not very flavorful. I would recommend eating this with a healthy portion of salsa. Carnitas tacos - similar to the chicken, the meat was pretty dry. Flavors were ok, but I left the entree a bit disappointed.

Oh my goodness they were busy and I know it's because their food is so good !! We wanted to bring our grandkids here to try it and they loved it especially the refillable soda machine . My husband had the chorizo and eggs , I had the relleno omg so good and my grandson had enchiladas. Everyone was so full and happy and can't wait to come back !

We were looking for a place to eat on our drive south, and we came across this place on Yelp with great ratings. I neglected to look how far off the freeway it was; so just a heads up, that it's 4 miles from the freeway exit. Thankfully it was worth the short detour! The specialty here is seafood and I'd read on Yelp that the shrimp tacos were amazing so that's what I ordered. We got a quesadilla for our toddler and my husband got carne asada tacos. We also got an order of fries just in case for our toddler. I loved my shrimp tacos! These were very delicious and filling. My husband really liked his carne asada tacos and thought the meat portion was generous. It had huge pieces in it. The quesadilla, as well, was stuffed with cheese! The quesadilla came with tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream on the side. The tacos were $2 each and the shrimp ones were $3. We came on the early side of dinner so it wasn't busy. The service was friendly and prompt and we had our food in no time. My shrimp came out piping hot. Overall, if we found ourselves needing a bite to eat in Buttonwillow again, we wouldn't hesitate to come here!

Cruising North or South on I-5 or maybe you are a local, you will find an authentic treat of Mexican food and atmosphere here. C. is having the Menudo ( only on weekends) and I am having the Breakfast burrito. We both are enjoying the flavors. We stopped off here this past Friday on our way going south. We didn't eat although we kinda wanted to, it was busy, lunch hour and just didn't. Should have, in retrospect, would have been totally worth it. It isn't busy now on the Sunday lunch hour I recommend dining here. Are you here yet?

Excellent food. The real thing. Well worth the side trip from I-5. We had the combo #4: crispy tacos. Delicious.

Taqueria Los Charros Del Neri - Azada al gusto

Taqueria Los Charros Del Neri

The food here is so good we might make this our regular stop on our trips up north!!! Loved it!…read more First, it's a road side taco truck so let's talk about the truck. The truck was very clean, and the person working (owner maybe?) was very professional! All five stars. You never know what to expect when you hit a new truck, and we knew we were in good hands from the start!!! What did we get? I wanted a quesadilla and asked for recommendation for what meat. The gentleman recommended carne asada and chorizo, and holy crud was that good!!! Amazing! He's totally right, this was a really good quesadilla! I'm not big on spice and asked if it was spicy. He said no, and he was right: there was just the mildest hint of spice after and it just enhanced the full flavor. We also got a chicken burrito. No joke, the burrito was almost as big as my forearm! The contents of the burrito were really good as well. Bonus, he was such good service he confirmed all the stuff on the inside to make sure it was what we wanted. Really appreciate that since I LOVE cilantro but my gf doesn't like it. That made it all the better . He also put the classic sauces in our to go bag, along with some silverware and plenty of napkins!!! These are small things but make a HUGE DIFFERENCE when you're on a road trip. Legit love this place. Will be back even if I need to go out of my way to do so!!!

I wasn't expecting the beans to look like that...kinda reminds me of beans in a can lol. Also, the salsa was awkwardly in these small plastic bags but I made it work. I really enjoyed the grilled onions, especially the charred pieces #yum I probably wouldn't stop here again because it's on the other side of town, NOT close to freeways/exits BUT overall, super good service. He doesn't sell drinks but is conveniently in the same lot as a quick mart.

We initially stopped over here for a quick McDonalds bathrooms break and saw a lot of taco trucks along the road. We've never been here before but the food was excellent for a taco truck! Super fresh, super flavorful with the right amount of Mexican spices done right! Not shown was the devoured especial 3 taco Plato and tacos dorados de papas! Highly recommend to try this place out if you're ever stopping off this way!!! Service was extremely quick and friendly. Ambiance of the place with clean tables with cute flower settings to keep it looking fresh. They have a pumping sink to wash your hands or they offer hand sanitizer at the truck when you're ordering your food. They take all major credit cards and zelle or cash! My husband has the Super Burrito de Carne Asada and devoured it within 6 minutes he's Mexican so he would know what tastes good! The fresh salsa was perfectly seasoned and medium spicy! Yummy! Definitely need to keep this one on my tabs if we ever go back this way!

Don't be fooled into thinking this too! We waited 40 mins for tiny pupusas (and they got our order wrong). The food itself was fine, but not at all worth the wait, and *nothing* like the heavenly food that Tita's usually provides. Two thumbs way down, next time if Tita's is closed we are going to get back on the road to head up to that Mexican place in the plaza at the Paso Robles exit.
