The prices are very high and do not match the flavor or amount of food you get. I also tried their Sweet Potato Casserole (I believe that's what is it called), it was very good. Before I left I bought a pack of their beef hot dogs. That weekend we cooked them over an open fire and they were delicious.

Drinks are self serve here, but are airport pricey. Another thing worth noting is they actually have some seating with mini tables out front. Now they are in a much better, but still cozy, space on Government Street. This facility has indoor dining space, patio dining space, and plenty of parking, including a back overflow lot. If you need some real Italian grocery items for your home, there's a good chance you can get them at Anthony's. However, if you would rather let them prepare your meal for you, that's an excellent option as well. I think they have a first rate muffuletta, and it's important to have the right bread and meats for those. This is something they have covered! Their Po-Boys are also my favorites. These are pressed so they are crispy and flattened. I typically like to get these with a small salad, which is indeed an excellent choice. If you have room, there's always some great dessert choices. Another consideration is picking up something to take home for later, I think a tub of high quality imported olives are a good selection. Don't forget their cheeses as well, these can lift your home cooking to a higher level. I cook a lot of both at home--I'm someone who is dedicated enough to my Louisiana cooking to order Steen's syrup from Louisiana to my Florida doorstep even though Florida makes perfectly good cane syrup in its own right. (Side note: any New Orleans restaurant you venture to serving pain perdu with maple syrup and not Steen's--ask what the hell they're even doing.) Like most worthwhile restaurants, the menu here changes up. The specials as well as their famous sandwiches seem the way to go and I got the fried shrimp with bread and butter pickles. Exceptional--a small amount, it may have even been a starter but regardless was perfect for me. The sandwiches other diners had on their plates were large and looked delicious just glancing around at other tables. Everything comes up fast and the atmosphere is . . . just ideally New Orleans. It feels all the way "working CBD lunch" yet unhurried, a reflection of Cochon's greatness but scaled down and with utterly no pretense. There's simply a real sense of both care and expertise in everything done here no matter how simple or complex. Beyond all else, they're doing what they love here with no scaling back or dressing up to make it anything else. A winner through and through.
