Can't stand by their work…read more Recently had put Jackman's installed boiler serviced for the 4th time in as many years, and were told by the technician that helped us (he's very good, and I won't disparage his work) that the repair would not cost us a thing, as it was to fix a problem caused by a different technician's faulty work on installation. Lo and behold, we then received a bill for $180 for the service call. The office personnel wouldn't hear our argument about what the technician had quoted us. This wasn't the first call for a repair caused by their own shoddy installation of our boiler, either. Within the first year, we had to have a fan in the unit replaced as it was installed with wires rubbing against the fan blades. Another $180 to fix that, and nearly some very cold days spent waiting for a part with no heat. Go elsewhere.

I have usually been waited on within a couple of minutes. Either the bar code doesn't work or the wrong items were listed for a pick up in the lumber yard forcing another trip inside to change the receipt as in take the wrong off and put the right items on and then back to the yard with a corrected receipt and when you get the credit card bill the return of the wrong products isn't credited. Too bad that the entire staff changes often and I don't recognize any of the clerks as neighbors anymore. Yesterday I purchased a quart of Bondo and when I arrived home and opened it there was barely a pint but the charge was for a quart so I bought the same product for a bit less online and I got at least 3/4 of a quart. I have decided that using this store takes up to much of my time compared to the other hardware store in town which truly is get in and get out. Again missing the days of Bob and John and can only hope that the new management pulls the team together and I will try again in about 6 months.

First visit (sewer line clearing): The job itself was done well, but the plumbers used my personal buckets to drain the sewer without asking or cleaning them afterward. Not a huge deal, but not very professional. Second visit (hot water issue): We have a fairly complex plumbing and heating system, and after this visit, hot water wasn't restored to half my house. I had to guess which valve to turn back on myself, and I was never sure it was the right solution. I called several times over months to have someone come back and check, was told it would be scheduled, but no one ever returned. Third visit (leaking pipe replacement): The pipe was replaced, but I was billed for 2.5 hours of labor even though I have video evidence showing they were only at my house for roughly an hour, including a trip to the store for basic parts they should have had on hand. - The water was not turned back on properly--my wife discovered this after they left and didn't know how to fix it. - They hit the waste plumbing under my sink, breaking the tailpiece, which caused a major flood the next time we used the sink. I had to fix this myself. - They also used my ladder in the basement and left a puddle of solder on it. Overall, I'm very disappointed with the lack of care and follow-through. Based on my experience, I can't recommend their services.
