I have had the same driver (Steve) for about 15 years now. He is not afraid of my driveway or my…read moredogs! He has dealt with both in a professional and courteous manner and made it a point to ensure that I don't run out of propane during the winter months. There have been times he has walked the driveway to check the gauge on the tanks. He will often let me know in advance when he will be in the area. There was even one time where he waited patiently at the bottom for my plow man to finish. He is an excellent driver!

I have been a customer of Suburban Propane for over 20 years at the same address. I have never been…read morelate on my budget payments. My current budget payment amount is $29.00/month. Yep, just $29. Since the budget plan was reconciled in April 2020, I have regularly paid $40.00 even though I only owed $29 because I didn't want to get to the end of the budget plan and have a balance due. On October 26th I had some service performed on my on-demand propane water heater (which sits downstream of my solar hot water heater). I did NOT receive a bill at the time of service. I received my November bill, statement date 11/20, on 11/24 (the week of Thanksgiving). This bill is the FIRST notification of what I owed for the service in Oct. The bill showed a balance due of $136.95. I sat down at the computer and arranged for the National Bank of Middlebury to make my payment on 12/11 (the day after my paycheck on 12/10). Today I received a call from SP telling me my account is in arrears and threatening to turn me off. Now the very same bill I have in hand, the very FIRST notification of my repair costs, very clearly shows that I still have a CREDIT with SP of $241.87. This is AFTER subtracting the cost of the service. I understand that the budget payment plan and service are essentially separate items. Fine. But how can I be told that I am nearing 60 days in arrears for service on 10/26 when the FIRST bill telling me what I owe arrived on 11/24? I spoke to 3 different people on the phone. I realize that none of those individuals are personally responsible for any of this, and I apologized to them for raising my voice in frustration. The supervisor with whom I spoke affirms that all of my data and the dates in question are all correct. I have, in fact, a CREDIT of $241.87 even before my check for $136.95 arrives on 12/11. 20+ years of doing business, never paying late, always carrying a credit, and they threaten to turn me off even though I have done absolutely everything by the book. I will be changing propane companies.

This is the worst company that has ever existed in the history of the universe. They are shady,…read moredisorganized, rude, and couldn't possibly care any less about keeping customers. Be careful how you work with them because they will try to charge you for EVERYTHING. One phone call with them asking a question about my Rinnai light blinking ended up costing me $107 and they never told me ahead of time there would be any charge. They also will just overcharge you on your bills and then refuse to do anything about it. I'm turning mine off later and just using space heaters until my landlord renovates the building and changes the heat source/companies. Thankfully she also knows how shady they are.

I wish I could give zero stars, frankly, but Yelp will not allow that…read more The WORST company I have ever dealt with. First, they demanded that we wait at our new apartment, which never had heat turned on in the landlord's name for who-knows-what-reason, so it's 20 degrees. I told them this. They proceeded to tell me that there is no way they can "have a tech call" but that we (my husband or I) have to wait there all day. That the tech could show up anywhere between 8 and 4. My husband waited all day and called at 3pm because he was a little impatient... it was an hour before the cutoff. They told him they didn't get the application processed in time and that no one would come out. They never even bothered to call HIM, he called THEM to see where they were. Once he told me, I called them and told them it was absolutely unacceptable. He had to miss an entire day of work and now they were asking him to miss another half day? Ridiculous. They hung up on me. So there's my two cents. It's too bad they have a virtual monopoly in this area and can treat people like crap.

Awful. I won't complain about the price or fees, that's your prerogative as a business. However you…read moretook the tank back without my consent after speaking with you, letting you know I was canceling soon, but would call back to say when. Following this, you took my regulator. You say it's industry standard that tanks come with regulator which is true. However, as I've explained, I bought the house that had existing tanks owned by a different company. The house was vacant when I purchased, and had no propane hooked up to house, no regulator present, just tanks thst were previously owned by fg white. I was not a customer of suburban at that time. So I hooked up a regulator that was not there. When the tanks were empty I signed up with suburban. You brought a new tank, and took the old as expected. However you used the existing regulator. That was mine and is mine. You asked me for proof of purchase. That I don't have... but who would have that after several years, and it wasn't a new regulator either. So I asked for your proof of purchase, to which you replied its industry standard so that's our regulator. So you stole from me, and then I think the last 2 people I spoke to were rude and condescending. I will get my regulator back from you and won't stop until I do. You haven't responded to my emails yet and I'm not going to talk to rude people on the phone again.

I didn't want my propane supply to end in the dead of winter, so I wrote the checks. My credit card company is doing the right think and crediting my card for the amount. But WHAT A PAIN IN THE NECK. I can't wait to switch companies.
