The pizza we got was great. We ordered an appetizer and it was forgotten about. It came out after we brought it to the waitresses attention. It came out fairly quickly after that and was good also. The service was very slow. My nephew needed a drink refill and it never came. We ended up having to go to the bar and ask for one. I doubt we will be back as there are other places in the area we'd try. read more

Service was just alright. Basic bar food that is overpriced. Sandwiches are very oily and not great. Not sure about their cocktails/beer.

The bar service is quick and on top of things! The subs and pizza are very good. Love going early afternoon on the weekends with gf for lunch/dinner dates. Adrienne is very nice and very friendly. Has many tv's to watch many different games. read more

Good service right away. Seated quickly. Brought coloring books and crayons for my kiddos. Drinks were quick to the table. We put an order for pizza and she asked if the spicy stuff should be on the side, again being considerate of my Littles. My Littles aren't fans of spicy. My prankster second daughter put Rick Astley on the jukebox, and a half dozen patrons down the restaurant started singing out as it went. This is a hometown place with a decent sense of humor and community. Also kid friendly. read more

I absolutely love the original location! Troy has no clue what they are doing. It took over an hour to get our food. People literally walked out pissed off due to horrible service no silverware or plates for our appetizer and I had to go to the bar in order for a refill on my soda they are way understaffed and rude! read more

So, I was browsing Yelp for something new and stumbled upon this spot. Their website boasted awesome chicken wings, and some reviews seemed to back that up. I decided to place a to-go order: 1 medium (10 wings) in garlic buffalo sauce and 1 small (5 wings) in hot sauce, both extra crispy, please. Fifteen minutes later, I swung by to pick up my order. The guy at the counter was friendly, and as I looked around, I could sense the local bar vibe-it seemed like a favorite hangout spot for the neighborhood crowd. I did noticed the package felt pretty light. Sure enough, the wings were on the smaller side, but they looked and smelled delicious. They definitely nailed the extra crispy request. The garlic buffalo sauce was a tasty touch-creamy and well-balanced. Overall, the wings were solid, though I do wish they were bigger. I polished off 15 of them and still didn't feel completely full. At $25, they're not exactly cheap, but they hit the spot. read more

Affordable place to eat and drink with a relaxed atmosphere. Good bar food and great service.

Great Service! Went with wife and adult son and 3 little boys. The kids meals were all free. The beer was good! The food was great! Quiet place with a few low tables and lots of high tops available at 7:30 to 9 on a Monday night. read more

Great sandwiches here, the best in the whole county. Plenty of beer on tap. Oh, a great sandwich and a yummy beer, I love this place! My fav is the Super ham & turkey with everything on wheat. It's off the charts. Throw in an order of Teasers (mash spuds with jalapeño) and I'm happy. Soooooo good!! read more

Mediocre food. Had a sub. Workers were not friendly. Had to wait several minutes for anyone to acknowledge that I've was there (was placing a to go order). read more

Absolutely amazing subs. You will not be disappointed. A fan. I actually ordered two large subs to take home and took them 2 1/2 hours away and blew everybody away. I return every time I come back to the area. read more

Sandwiches were high quality meat and plenty of it. Great small town bar and sandwich shop. It was very crowded due to a local hockey tournament. Still got us in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Wide selection of beer on tap and mixed cocktails. Staff was fast and friendly. read more

Quality has gone way downhill and the prices keep going up. I've been eating here since they've been in Troy and I miss the food being good every time. Now we're missing items, the bread is burnt and they put way less meat on the subs even when you pay for extra. read more

Friendly service. Nice beer selection. Good sandwiches. My wife and I visited the Sub House while staying with family in the area. The staff was friendly, fast and had great recommendations. They made sure our drinks stayed full and really kept things moving (in a good way!). My wife ordered the grilled chicken salad. The portion was large and the ingredients seemed fresh and high-quality (not your standard iceburg lettuce bar salad.). I ordered the Cheesesteak. I will say I was a little disappointed in this sandwich. The bread and ingredients were top quality and tasted great, but the proportions seemed off. The bread seemed overly large for the amount of filling. Again: this tasted great, but the bread was too big for the meat. The real star was the Onion Rings (we split an order). They were hot, crispy and quite tasty. These were some of the best onion rings I've had in ages. All in all it was a great lunch at a reasonable price. read more

Held seats for 7 people outside smoking instead of seating one person at the bar. They would rather turn them away

First time here, and last time back. It was a busy night-which I am very patient and understanding. We had a party of 5 after my son's baseball game. Waited to be sat for about 10 minutes. No one acknowledged us, so we seated ourselves. Waited another 13 minutes for the bartender to ask us what we wanted to drink. Waited another 10-15 minutes for her to come back to get our order. Our food took forever. We had to go to the bar to get our refills. Never received eating utensils. Our food took 35 minutes to come out. 2 of our meals were incorrect. We didn't complain because no one came back to check on us. Our waitress sat down at the bar and started to drink a beer as we sat there waiting for our bill and boxes. We had to ask for those from another bartender. I get you had a busy day, but the service me and my family had tonight was flat out disrespectful. read more

Awesome once I was seated and waited on. Seems the regulars get extra special treatment and this was my first time. So become a regular and you'll get seated faster, waited on sooner and get your drinks regularly. The food was really good! read more

Submarine house is a solid choice for pizza and subs. I ordered a meat pizza which had lots of toppings. It reminded us of the Sir Pizza chain restaurants we like from where we are from. The subs were very good with high quality ingredients. They have common and some unique flavors. Their common options cant be written off as boring though as they are a class above read more

Awesome food and reasonable prices but go before 10 unless you don't mind dealing with some unusual and a tad rough characters.

Got a gyro, first time ordering from here. I've been throwing it up all night. It sucks, tastes like shut.

My boyfriend and I live out of state and have had the occasion to stay in the Dayton area a handful of times. We seem to keep gravitating to the Submarine House. The vibe is relaxed, good specials, and the food is delicious! Highly recommend the tater tots that have cheese and jalapeño in them. Why is this not a thing all the time? The cheesesteaks are great and if you like spicy, the pepper relish is very good. We will be back! read more

Great cheesesteak! Very friendly watering hole with a good variety of beers on tap. Stopped here looking for a quick bite and brew. Bartenders were friendly and courteous. I'd stop in again next time I'm in the area! read more

We stopped here for lunch after a local resident recommended the place. We won't be back. Totally meh. The grilled subs we had were too much bread and too little meat/veggies/cheese. Fries were unseasoned, bland, and ordinary. Service only rated one star, or zero stars. Our server seemed bored and and put out that she had to wait on us. The place wasn't busy at all, only two tables plus a few at the bar but she seemed far too busy to stop by our table. Her body language and her manner made us want to apologize for interrupting her day. read more

Sub house Troy is one of my favorite bars in town. Apparently I'm not the only one that feels this way because the place is always busy. The only down side to subhouse Troy is it's small and finding a spot to eat or drink can at times be difficult. I love their subs (best in the area) and the teezers are freaking delicious. The staff is always friendly and laughing. Drink specials are every day and prices are really fair. They also have games on, and its location is perfect. I get the super ham and turkey with the works, num num num. The cheese steak subs are their staple and they are also damn good. Beer selection is solid as they feature local brewery's, ipa's, pale ales, domestic and foreign on tap. What more can you ask for?! Two thumbs up for sub Hou read more

First time here. Food is 5 stars for sure. Service is not bad but could be a little better. It took a while to get the food but good food does take time. I found the bottom of my glass every time so they were not great about keeping it full. Really good food. I'll be back. read more

Submarine House - Getting dinner - Cheesesteaks Near Me - Troy, Ohio

My wife and a few of her friends stop in and I will make this an easy read Service: poor at best very slow and rude Kitchen: order cookies and a sub the cookies were dark brown and far from fresh and the sub was missing meat and the 8in sub was 6in. Needless to say we have no desire to go back! read more

Always Love the Sub House. Friendly Owners and staff. Food Always Hot and Fresh, great Atmosphere.

Big family gathering here last night and it worked out perfectly. There were 12 of us and at first it was alittle difficult getting everybody seated together as the place was pretty full. Anyway, with some staff help and some very nice patrons will to move around we were able to slide three tables together and everybody had a seat. Our server was great but was concerned that we were going to overwhelm the kitchen so he took our orders in batches. Great idea, it worked out that the food all came out in a timely manner with no time gaps from the kitchen. Food was great, everybody loved it. I had the super cheese steak and it was great even though no cheese whiz. (provolone) . Anyway, it makes the list of "go to's". Give it a try. read more

After seeing everyone on my Facebook check-in and rave about this place, I had to check it out. my first inital thought walking in was REALLY? It was like a smaller version of a Buffalo Wild Wings. The music was way too loud for the setting. I think a fight broke out in front. I had a Irish Carbomb and the bartender totally skimped on the Guinness. Its great that the locals love it here, I just didn't get the hype. Though the prices on the chalboard was a unique touch. I'll stick with the leaf though. read more

Submarine House - Bar side @ submarinehouse - Cheesesteaks Near Me - Troy, Ohio

This was one of those places I kept passing by for awhile in Troy and always said "we should try that place out". Then we did, and we are regulars now. Love this place! The kids even request to come here haha. I love the house tacos, chicken cheesesteak and teezers! The servers and bartenders always remember us and what we usually order too. They're all so nice and we love coming in. read more

Meh. Meh says it all. The steak subs are ok, they'll fill you up. Didn't think the hot pepper stuff was actually very hot, but my more sensitive friend got burned. The fries have potential, but need to be cooked longer. There was no crispy! They have moved and have a bar now. Delivery is also an option. The bar actually gets sorta busy, and seems like it would be a nice spot if you had to get tha eat and drink on. Not much else in Troy, anyway. read more
