I always like to stop at a Marion's location when I am working in the area. Marion's pizza is unique. It hasn't changed for decades. It will always be the hometown pizza. Today I ordered a 9 inch pizza with mushrooms, extra cheese, and extra sauce. Also a side of ranch. The dining room here is very large and uniquely decorated. read more

Marion's Piazza - Pizza Near Me - Troy, Ohio

We were in town for an event and decided to order a pizza Saturday. The pizza got to us fast and hot. We ordered a triple pepperoni pizza and it was delicious! The pizza had garlic butter/parmesan on the crust and on top and it was out of this world delicious. We decided it was worth the belly ache to eat it all then one sitting. We happily laid on the bed in a food coma after. We have only had Marco's at a Walmart store. It was good pizza but nothing even close to this. We would drive the 40 minutes just to eat that pizza again. read more

First time visit for me. Third for my friends. We were with a group of 20. PROS: Ample parking, clean bathrooms, ample space for large groups, family friendly. Friendly staff. Cons: My friends said they had not liked the pizza their previous two visits. They ordered sandwiches as I did. I tried a piece of pizza from the group. It looked bad and tasted worse. I ordered a chicken breast sandwich on Italian bread w/mayo packets. Wrong sandwich. Had to stand in line a second time. No mayo. Had to stand in line a third time. Sandwich was decent (lukewarm by now) but quite plain tasting. Neutral: It was very odd that you had to stand in a separate line to buy soft drinks. I can understand separate for alcohol, but soft drinks? Just added time. Also. No refills on soft drinks. Overall the atmosphere and food brought to my mind what an adult Chucky Cheese might look. Would not return if I was getting to choose. read more

Marion's Piazza - people eating in a restaurant - Pizza Near Me - Troy, Ohio

Food was classic Marion's, 9" pizza and steak hoagie. We ordered delivery and it came via door dash. The driver did not speak english and it took 10 minutes to get him to give me the delivery once he arrived. read more

Ordered a 9" supreme and only had two pieces. It's likely as described but not for me. The "sauce" is a thick tomato paste, not a sauce. I found the paste to basically hide the other flavors. Might be your deal so go try. Also, I'm no pizza purist but the way they cut it up In little 2" cubes seems to just be more work for them and me. I may go back and try a sandwich and hopefully edit my review but based on this pizza, nah.. read more

I was disappointed with their pizza. The crust was seemed like it came in a box, from the freezer section. It did not, but did not seem hand tossed, but more machine processed. Sauce was bland ; cheese too. Reminded me of what kids want at a Chuckie Cheese party, before they learn to like garlic and basil. Kids who think pizza is toast with ketchup and cheese. Marion's Piazza - Marion's Deluxe plus pineapple - Pizza Near Me - Troy, Ohio

Marion's is my favorite pizza available on planet earth. Many would disagree with me because what I find good about it is exactly the opposite of what others want in a pizza...Marion's goes lighter on the cheese. A pizza overloaded with cheese (eg. Chicago style) is way too rich for me and "sits heavy" on my stomach afterwards. But Marion's has the proportions set perfectly for my taste. My favorite pie that they make is the Deluxe. The sausage they use is the best I've ever tasted on a pizza. I grew up eating Marion's and nothing else can measure up. Most of the Marion's locations are in the Dayton area (thus, their moniker of serving "Dayton-style" pizza). This particular location is the northernmost of the nine shops in this Southwest Ohio chain. It is off the main drag when exiting the highway, so it's easy to miss if you don't know where to look. The handsome brick facade houses the signature Italian piazza decor, which is the same interior found at all other Marion's. I was very pleased to find that this Marion's had returned to open hours until 11 PM on a Saturday and was allowing indoor dining. On the other hand, we stopped at 9 PM and it was sad to see a nearly empty dining room. In normal times, it would be nearly full on a weekend evening with kids running around amidst a festive atmosphere. There are certain things that just remind us that we have truly allowed COVID to rob our joy! The staff were polite and efficient. My wife and I split a side salad and shared a small deluxe pizza. We still had enough left over to take home for a snack. At less than $16 (less than $8 apiece), the deal was unbeatable. This location lives up to Marion's well earned reputation, and that reputation is a great one. read more

Went to Marions in Troy today. I ordered a deluxe dinner salad, a rueben, and a large soda pop. I paid at the cashier when I placed my order. I asked for my dinner salad "up front", realizing my rueben would take awhile. I went to the beverage counter and requested a large Dr. Pepper, light ice. The man and lady behind the counter were spoiling for a fight. They demanded proof of payment for the large soda. I tried giving the lady my receipt, however, she fumbled it, and it landed in the ice cooler. They were really upset by this, I was not about to let them kick me around. Why in the world would I try to beat them out of a large soda anyway? The man gave me a few choice words, I suppose he has never learned along the way that the customer is always right. I barked back at them that I would call the Police, that got their minds right! No more nasty bad mouth from either of them. I took my seat after picking up my deluxe dinner salad at the main counter. I finished my salad, within 15 minutes. I then waited another 45 minutes for my rueben. At one point, after about 30 minutes I went to the front counter to inquire about my rueben. A lady said they had trouble with the bread tearing? It shouldn't be too much longer. This got me to thinking, did the beverage team notify the food counter about me and this was a deliberate action to "get even" so to speak. I dont ever plan to return to Marions in Troy, I would never let them try to humiliate and embarrass me again over a paper cup of soda pop! My only regret is that I didn't call the cops. read more

I can't understand how many 1-2 stars it's gotten. This place is great and the pizza is amazing. The service is good and I always get exactly what I want. My family loves it too. I know a lot of people don't like the "cracker-like" crust, but personally I do. The crust isn't too hard either, it's gentle and somewhat soft. read more

Marion's Piazza - Almost ate half of the pizza! Such good pizza! - Pizza Near Me - Troy, Ohio

I am baffled by any low reviews here. Marion's piazza is hands down, the best pizza I have ever had in my life. Overall, I am not usually a huge fan of thin crust pizza. They do it perfectly here! It is so perfectly crispy. My favorite pizza to order here is pepperoni/sausage. The sausage is my favorite part! They don't to the big, circular chunks of sausage like most pizza joints. It is a tiny, crumbled sausage that gets a little crisp to it in the oven. I admittedly can't eat as much as I used to when I was younger, but I will eat a whole pizza from Marion's every time. I get it EVERY time when I make a trip back to my home state it Ohio. It is THAT good. read more

Voted Daytons best pizza by the Dayton Daily News. What the hell are they thinking? Have the even tried any other pizza in Dayton? Wow! Who is in charge of this bogus article? It does a disservice to the good and great pizza places. WOW! This is SO wrong. This is uninteresting bland Dayton platter pizza! Crust is cakey, sauce is bland, meats have no flavor. We had 25 people over for cards and brought in Marions. About the best I can say is that after a number of beers people began to consume it. Now, given all that, the building has plenty of room for family's. And kids tend to like bland products. Putting that together it may be a good choice to treat the kids. Just saying..... I won't be ordering Marion's anymore for our events. read more

We loved it! I couldn't believe how good it is. The crust was crunchy and the sausage was incredible.

We stopped at this spot to have family with a large group. The staff was very welcoming and the restaurant was clean. They can be a little confusing when ordering here for the 1st time because you must 1st order your pizza and pay and then go to a second counter to order your drinks and pay again. Once you place your order, you wait for your number to be called and pick up your food at the counter. They also have a game room with arcade style games and they even have a closed off room that you can rent for parties. We enjoyed ourselves and the pizza was good. read more

The chef salad is ridiculous and not in a good way. It consisted of iceberg lettuce, green olives, three thin slices of a prepackaged deli ham topped with a sliced Kraft single. You don't get much for $ 7.50 these days, but this was something a third grader could have come up with. read more

Great pizza. It was fresh and crispy. Still hot when we got it home. The service was prompt and friendly. Someone told me that "this is the best pizza in Ohio. I must try it." So being from N.Y. and having good/great pizza all around the country and Rome, I'm always ready for pizza. Well, I am sorry Ohio. If this is your best it rates very low on my scale. I'm not trying to be mean, just truthful. The bite size squares are nice and easy to eat. The ready made dough is grocery store type. Yes, they are not cheep with the toppings. To the edge as advertised, but just not cut there and fresh. It's all about the sauce. That was ok. Anyway, it's not bad pizza, just not N.Y. style. (which they never claimed. I'm just saying). If your not expecting something fantastic, just regular pizza that you can buy at the store, then this place is for you. Kids will love it. Just not for me. read more

I can't believe this place claims to be the best of Dayton. What a joke. Shame on you dayton for endorsing this as your pizza. The pizzas are the most machine made, canned sauced, non fresh meats and vegetable pizzas I have ever eaten. Just walk in and watch how they are made. You will instantly see what I mean. These pizzas are incredibly plain and not interesting by any means. But ben? Why is the parking lot always full. I'll tell you. Marion's is huge!! You can walk in even at the busiest of hours and know you can get a seat. 4 crappy beer options (bud, bud light, bud lighter, bud lightest) will make jo blow happy. And your kids will enjoy pumping your hard earned money into 9 outdated half working video game machines. Marion's has an army of teenagers ready to slam your cheaply made pie into a massive commercial chain driven metal machine that cooks it and rushes it to you. So they get 5 for speed and convenience. But seriously, that's it.... read more

Was in town with my children and husband and excited for them to have Marion's pizza! They were happy to finally taste what all of my Oh friends and I talk about. We were sorely disappointed! I don't know if it's the location, this is my first time at Troy location and I'll never go back to this Marion's. Pizza was so bad we honestly should've sent it back, it was salty and a bit dry the garlic bread was the only thing that was decent. I'm praying next time I'm back in town when I go back to Marion's in Dayton or Englewood it will be the same delicious Marion's pizza I've enjoyed since childhood! Truly embarrassing the way I talked it up and it was horrible! And it wasn't a busy night at all. read more

Meh... Really just average pizza. Maybe a step above frozen pizza. Not bad, but certainly not great. Taste good but not "wow" by any means. I do concur with Luke B's Review on the over all assessment of the restaurant. I too am not from this area and heard all the "hype" about the pizza at Marions. It's just that hype. Want real pizza ? Head East to Pittsburgh and the East coast. read more

This is not the best pizza in Dayton. It's not even the best pizza in my freezer. Maybe I'm just being a NY/NJ pizza snob but this is not good pizza. Tasteless sauce, poor quality cheese and sub-par toppings. The atmosphere was fine. Large ceilings, funky carpet, cafeteria style layout. Reminded me of a big NJ pizza place in the '80s. Staff was friendly and somewhat helpful. I found it odd that there were no beverage choices for kids besides soda but there was a multitude of alcohol choices....including forties of beer?!?!? If you want crappy "Ohio" pizza, I would go with Cassanos or Donatos, not here. Al's in Troy is of the same breed but better then all of the above mentioned. read more

I moved to the area about a year ago. Since moving here all people have talked about is going to Marion's. It has been hyped up so much by so many people to me. So I finally got the time to drive over to Troy and check it out. First off the exterior of the building and parking lot are very nice. It's clean and has plenty of space. Walking inside the first thing you notice is how open it is. If you have a large group they could easily accommodate you. One thing I hate about going to new places is not knowing the layout. When you enter there are 2 separate counters. First is the drinks which includes pop, tea, and a few beers. To the right is the order counter. I walked up, a nicely dressed man took my order. He gave me a receipt which had a number, 175 in this case. You simply go find a table and they will call out your number on the speaker system. Walk up to the drink counter and pay for your drinks separate from the food. I imagine when they are very busy that this helps with the traffic. Now that we have logistics out of the way, the food. I ordered a pizza with mushrooms and sausage. I heard my number called out and walked up to the counter where they have an "order pickup" sign. When my pizza came out it was very hot, sitting on a square of cardboard. The pizza is cut into very small squares which I do like. If you have a big mouth like me they could be considered bite size. I will say now that after all the hype, I am thoroughly disappointed in my pizza. It's a thin crust which I do like. But there was seemingly no sauce, the sausage had an unusual favor and looks as though it was extruded into the size of grains of rice. The mushrooms were obviously from a can/no love. I was so disappointed. With that being said the pizza is not bad. But for how much hype was given it did not match. Maybe this was just a matter of personal preference. Maybe if I got a different topping from sausage (although this is my favorite), it would be better for me. I don't know. I will probably give Marion's another try in the future. read more

My girlfriend's family is from the area and Marion's is an institution for them. Things I appreciate about Marion's: There is a large seating area for parties and the prices are decent to cheap for a large quantity of food. The downside is that I don't much care for their pizza. It seems tasteless to me, and it's only technically pizza because it's meat, veggies, cheese, and sauce, served on dough. All the components to a pizza are there, so where is Marion's pizza lacking? No really, I don't know. I would rather have Domino's with cardboard as a topping, and I don't even like cardboard that much. read more

It's Dayton Pizza folks. It has toppings all the way to the sides with no big doughy crust and yes it's cut into squares. It is a pizza created and loved in Dayton for over 50 years. Is it Dayton's best? That up for debate, but this pizza is much better than any frozen pizza by any stretch of the imagination. Being from Dayton, I love this type style of pizza (like Donatos, Cassano's, Milano's, and my fav Joe's). All I know is I get back up to the Miami Valley 2x a year and I truly miss this style of pizza in the world of NY Style pizza everywhere else. read more

Unique Dayton pizza chain. Thin crust, tons of toppings, can get pretty greasy. Some swear by it while others don't like it. It's sit down pizza which seems rare these days. Typical Marion's pizza restaurant. Place your order, wait for number to be called, get up and take your pizza back to table. It was clean and the workers were pleasant. We ordered a supreme pizza extra crispy. It was good - not sure why the crust here is unusual and I can only describe it as a smoky flavor. I like the crust and think it makes the pizza. Not much sauce on their pies but you can order extra. My dining partners like less sauce so they were happy with it. I don't like that the drinks must be purchased separately from the food order but that is how all the Marion's do it. Lots of kids and families and guests of all ages - even a few people eating at tables alone. Plenty of parking was available in the lot. I had a deluxe side salad which had a ton of green olives on it - it was alright. Good place to go with a large group or kids. read more

We ordered two pizzas. They are fine, but nothing to write home about. In fact, some of the bigger chain options probably would've been more tasty. Marion's tastes like the kind of pizza you would make at home if you were making homemade pizza. The ingredients are generous, but canned. The sauce tastes like a generic tomato sauce straight from the can. The meats tasted like lunchmeat out of a bag. That is to say, nothing was wrong with the pizza, it just wasn't that impressive. read more

This place is your typical pizza joint. Good food, good price, good for family time. Do not expect gourmet dinner or super long beer selection because this is not the kind a restaurant this is. You basically order the pizza and they call your number and you go get it and sit down, no mess no fuss :) They also have other things in the menu other than pizza but I have not had any of them. The pizza itself is great! It is thin and square shaped and they cut the pieces small. I haven't had bad pizza here.
