It was well balanced and had just the right amount of onion and peppers as well as a good amount of chicken. Hands down, this is the best sub shop in JAX. If our Saturday will be spent hiking, biking, or canoeing you can bet we will stop at Sub Culture for our picnic lunch. The sandwich menu is AWESOME. This month I have been craving a good sandwich so I gave Sub Cultured a shot. I ordered the Cuban and the Roast Beast (yes I was hangry) and you know what I get it, I get the hype! I highly recommend the Cuban!! Probably the best I have had yet. The Roast Beast was pretty awesome too! After going to the little stand in front of Home Depot we finally decided to drive to the actual location. The food was really good and the service was really good. However after seeing everyone else pictures of their food I was a little disappointed in mine mostly the Gypsy fries. All the other pictures I've seen the fries are loaded!!! Not gonna lie the subs are good. The location is everything. But get prepared to wait. Totally worth it I think. A little high-priced but I was willing to pay for such a variety of subs and drinks. Hole in the wall sandwich shop...with great sandwiches and service. I've been to the Home Depot stand a few times and remember them having a stand at the beach a few years back. Wish I had not waited this long to check em out. Better quality and taste at the shop by far! Good selection of sandwiches, salads, fries, etc. The soda selection goes beyond the mainstream Coke and Pepsi choices. I ordered the Montreal which was a Pastrami with cheddar cheese (curds i think) and mustard. Perfectly toasted bread which came from a local bakery complemented the sandwich. My son ordered the Cuban and had no intention of sharing because he said it was "not good but awesome." They have 3 tables to sit at inside and 1 table outside. Oh. My. God. I have passed this place a ton of times since they opened, and finally ventured by last Friday. I kid you not, today was the third time since I have been in. If I go in the evenings, I'll get a sub to take to work the next day for lunch. The dood that runs it I felt like I had seen before--and I have. I've gotten an Italian sausage from him from outside HD which was great. The staff is super nice, and I can't explain how awesome the sandwiches are. Not only is it a banging local food spot, but they also get their delicious bread from a local mom n pop bakery cinottis (sp?) I've tried the godfather, caswell and the poutine fries. Before this cool little joint, Sub Cultured was just a small vendor with a cooler by the front entrance at the Home Depot on Atlantic and Girvin (one i would visit occasionally). When I heard that they were opening up a restaurant in close proximity to where I work, my stomach was already making preparations for the spicy italian sausage sub with onions and peppers (what I always get at Home Depot). The menu is quite appealing with subs like the Philly Cheesesteak and they even have cold cuts and a good selection of salads to accompany your sandwich. The food is great, prices are great, and the pleasant service is no different.
