There were a bunch of food trucks outside the office today and I needed to get lunch, so I stopped by Subcity. The worker explained the menu and the second I heard, "rice bowl", my mind was made up. So I got a rice bowl with chicken. A few minutes later, he handed me the dish along with a fork and some napkins. The chicken was deliciously seasoned as was the rice. There was a tasty sauce on the dish along with some shredded cheese, grilled peppers, and onions. I'd definitely order this again. I would like to try their rolls too! Deliciously greasy and not terribly priced late night food ideal for the half drunk or more crowd. I showed up at 10:15 and they close at 11. They are strict about seeing an ID when you pay with card. Walk in orders only at that time- no call-ahead. The Clevelander was a large soft roll sandwich with corned beef, lots of melty cheese, and a hamburger patty with a side of hot fries. Not great but good for limited options at this hour and definitely not bad at all! The food that we got was good, that's what makes this sad. We got home with our order and realized one sandwich was missing, and one was a turkey sub but we didn't order that. We called and explained the situation, and over the phone they said come on back. We got there and they didn't seem to remember the phone call. Then the cook started yelling at me about the Italian sandwich- we were showing her that it was a turkey sandwich, but we didn't order that. We gave it to them to show them. She said we should've brought it all back and she didn't trust us. After being yelled at and trying to explain the situation, and having other workers take the cook to the back to calm down we left with no resolve. From years of ordering from this establishment I have never had any issues until recently. Two instances where I placed an order via online (twice). The first online order gave an estimated time for pick up, roughly 25-30 minutes. Got there 45 mins and still had to wait an extra hour because it was not ready. Second order, estimates 25 mins. Now 2 minutes after I place the online order, one of the workers call to advise they are a little backed up an my wait time/pick up time turned into an hour and a half. I canceled the order with her on the phone ,due to the wair time was too long and I needed to get my child home for bed. Now they (the worker and mgmt) advised the order would be canceled and I would be refunded.2 weeks later no refund. Called again and explained the issue, per a different manager, by which was Very unprofessional, rude, and clearly has not taken any management courses a day in her life, needed to call another manager and call me back. 4 days later, no call back, no refund. Now when people complain about there isn't enough support businesses in the community..... well #1 example why. Those establishments in the community, such as this one, are not For the COMMUNITY. The menu pictures look amazing, it makes It hard to not want to order from here. Of course once I scrolled past the the assortment of subs including different variations of Philly cheesesteaks, I gave in and just had to have one although I originally wanted wings. On the scale of 1-10, I would give the chicken phllly I had here a 7.5. The only things I didn't like was the bread and the chicken they used. The bread felt like it could be fresher or toasted shorter. The chicken used was terrible but I felt I've had better quality pieces at other places. The real winner of this place are the wings! Placed an order on door dash. Received confirmation. Received updates from door dash saying the "dasher was waiting " and the delivery time got pushed back multiple times. This restaurant is incredibly slow and incredibly dirty. I went at 12 noon and they had 2 people working at a snails pace with 8 people waiting to be served. The resturant is dirty and grime and doesn't appear to be heated. Not a good problem to have during Cleveland winters. The food is average and nothing to rave about. I've seen pics of the food this place serves from their Instagram page, which be looking good! It was only right to come to see if it was as good as it looks. Safe to say, it was good! I went on Wednesday which is there 30 cent wing day with a purchase of a large lemonade. There wings were really good and they have many sauces to choose from. The food is amazing but the service is TERRIBLE and that will turn me off from any business. The workers that answer the phone (no matter the location. In Euclid or on Euclid) are rude, dismissive and act like they are doing you a favor by even answering the phone. I've had multiple issues with orders being taken wrong or food being over cooked. I'm pretty sure the owners don't care and are just looking to make a dollar. Asking to speak to a manager is pointless because they give the same attitude. I found out that i have to buy a drink with my order. I've been twice in one week. The customer service over the phone and at the window was friendly, welcoming and informative with a smile. They made me feel good for inquiring about the menu. Of course first order was wings. The rub was delicious and they were cooked properly. I devoured them. My second visit was on Wing Wednesday. Again Customer Service was phenomenal. However the wings were cooked so hard it was like eating sand. I was truly sad. The food is pretty good ,but the service is terrible. There seems to be lack of communication between hosts and servers-as it ALWAYS takes about 15 minutes before I am greeted every time I go. Additionally, my food usually comes out of order instead of altogether (for example, last time I went, I received my wings 20 min before my fries) and it's not surprising (at this point) to expect food whenever the kitchen feels like making your order (for example, my wings arrived after 45 min, but a table of people who came in 15 min after me somehow got their food before me). Horrible service. This place was recommended to us. We placed an order over the phone, 2 loaded fries. When we got there to pick up our food we were handed only half of our order. When we asked for the other loaded fries, we were told we didn't order 2. Instead of offering to make our second order, he turned away and got on his phone.
