I finally made a point to try MoMo's Restaurant, after living down the street from it for almost 5 years. I placed an order by phone for the fried salmon tenders. Each meal comes with yellow rice and two sides. You can upgrade to a creamy veggie rice for $4. I stuck with the original and got sweet potato yams and mac and cheese for my sides. I was told that my order would take 45 minutes and that they would call me when it was ready. About 10 minutes later, I got a call stating that they ran out of yams and what other side I'd like to choose. I got the greens. I was called about 45 minutes later (so the food took right at 1 hour) and told my order was ready. As expected from the outside, the inside is not the nicest. It's called a lounge and there does seem to be a bar, a few tables, and a small sitting area, but no one was dining in. It's pretty outdated and I couldn't imagine eating or having a drink there. The cashier (same person on the phone) was very sweet. My order came to $30. She opened the box and showed me my meal before wrapping it up and I was on my way. Truly, the food was excellent. The salmon tenders were sooo crispy and perfectly fried on the outside while still juicy inside. I got them seasoned with honey lemon pepper. You could tell that the batter was also seasoned along with the salmon. There were 5 pieces so it's a pretty big portion. I also really enjoyed the mac n cheese. It was super cheesy and well seasoned. The rice was good as well. While I did like the greens, there was sooo much meat in it that it made them overall kind of salty. Maybe I got the end of the pot, but it was really more meat than greens. I'm happy to know that this is a good option for soul food takeout if ever I am craving soul food and don't mind spending $$$$. I really want to try the candied yams read more

Ordered over the phone. Was told 50 minute wait for food. Arrived and wait over 2 hours from the time we ordered. We were told one cook. Food was great but nothing is worth the wait. Live down the street from here and have been wanting to try this place. Finally gave it a try the other day with my daughter. I walked in and placed my order to go. I told it was gonna be 45 minutes, which I expected cause a lot of places around here take a long time. Oh and they were out of a lot of food items. I tried to sit at the bar and have a drink, but they couldn't make me a lemon drop. They literally just had straight liquor and juices. The ambience in there is not very inviting. Not many tables and the barstools are way higher than the actual bar so if I was sitting there to eat, it would be very awkward. . Not really what I was feeling so I went to a nearby restaurant to get a drink while I waited. It took over an hour for the food. Got two meals and it came up to $75. I will say the food was jampacked with flavor, but the wings were overcooked and it was not worth the price that I paid. I was greeted by soulful R & B.... Place is on the smaller side... dimly lit really no "dining area" accept a few tables and chairs along wall.... further back there is some couches ...I sat at the bar there was a wait before my meal came out like a hour lol With the tv and music playing I didn't mind the wait.... The guy who took our orders was cool as hell managing the restaurant taking the online orders I know that could be a lot of pressure I just love the waitress/cook she was just a vibe made us feel welcomed refilling our drinks and making sure we were good she seemed very genuine I usually don't get that from females nowadays.... We were offered a sample bread it was different but tasty Let's get into our meal it was delicious I had the stuffed salmon macaroni and cheese with greens and yams it was seasoned to perfection the rice had a creamy base with vegetables everything was A one!!! Second time coming here, this time i ordered off of uber eats a hour before coming to pick up, even though in 30 minutes it stated my food was ready. i get here to pick up, i get told its not ready and will be another 15 minutes. smh waited additional half hour. overall both times i waited over a hour for my food. so if you have all the time in the world spend your money here. read more

I love the food here. It is amazing. I appreciate the service. It is a small place and I've never eaten inside of it. However, I think I would because it's cozy enough. everything I've had here is fire. The salmon is amazing mashed potatoes, mac & cheese. Nice friendly staff, fresh food and large portions. I ordered the honey glaze salmon and was not disappointed, it was enough food for 2 days. The restaurant was nice and clean, music was playing , they have 2 tv's and enough seating at the bar, and casual seating near the tv's. Typically I will not post a review for places solely based on service but after an hour plus of dine in service waiting with Zero food, here we are after several people felt the urge to walk out. Made to order food is a standard not an excuse for poor kitchen management and preparation. On this initial visit we opted for dine in. This place should not offer or operate in any dine in capacity. They are not equipped in pretty much every way you can imagine possible. This place should operate as a take out only restaurant. This is not a full service dining experience, which was our first mistake. After being seated, multiple walk in orders were told after placing orders that it would be 50 min to 1 hour wait for food because the food is "made to order". This is on a Friday at 7 pm, With 4 total dine in patrons. Circling back to the made to order excuse or justification for ridiculous wait times because this thought process needs to stop. Made to order non fast casual cuisine is a standard not a selling point to make up for the lack of preparation, poor kitchen management and overall incompetence in running a restaurant. The price point and menu reflects that this food is MTO. MTO concept is not new or exclusive to this restaurant but for the hour and change here I might have heard the phrase 5 plus times. This place could serve the best plate in Cleveland, it will not matter if people are not willing to patronize. How this place currently is operating, it will not last long. Menu's need refreshed, preparation and kitchen operations need complete overhaul. 60-70% of this menu has items that would not require extensive time preparing if prepped and kitchen operations were efficient. For example you can not MTO certain soul food sides. A meal containing rice, fried protein, soul foul side can not take 1 hour plus to come out of a kitchen that isn't your home. In short, the food could very well be good here, I would not know because we never received food. They've got some things to fix if they want to last. A thought, great restaurants are worth a wait for a seat just to order, poor restaurants make you regret waiting in your seat after you order. read more

She explained the menu, and was a great host, frequently checking the status of our food which didn't take long considering they'd just fired up the stoves! FOOD: I ordered the stuffed salmon, with Mac and cheese, greens and yams. Also got the seafood loaded mash and OMGGGGG!! The loaded mash was savory, thick, creamy and just perfect! Expect solid/good food Expect for the price to be at least 10-15$ higher than what is advertised because the menus are not updated (there is definitely no rush and no plan according to staff) Expect your food to take over an hour even though your being quoted 30-45 minutes Expect decent customer service with a pinch of lack in price knowledge (that's too be expected once, the poor servers have no menu to refer to) Momos food is good!! First off the waitress who greeted us when we walked in was awesome she was very polite and explained everything we needed to know about what we ordered, the food is prepared per order (I assume) We ordered one of the Salmon specials with a very tasty rice,,, yes rice it was very flavorful and the greens OmG the greens needed nothing xtra they were fresh and meaty and had good broth so Good! Chicken was a crispy but I wish they wld give more of the sauce which they offer different options to toss your wings in but it was little to no sauce. Macaroni was beyond cheesy which is a plus but I see very little noodles but still consistent with the flavors!
