I have to admit I may of groaned a bit climbing the flight of stairs up to the restaurant after a verticle climb up a mountain earlier, however the trek up was worth it. We were seated right away, and greated by Maddy soon after although wern't ready to place our drink orders quite yet. After a bit we had moved onto the menu choices where Maddy hadnt come back and was having a casual chat for a while with the bar tender so I walked over and asked to place our drink orders. Since they wern't busy and we were thirsty we were both a tad annoyed as we felt a little forgotten. I ordered the Cabernet and my guy the Rhino Hazy IPA draft. My wine was delishious although pricey for an 8oz glass. We both agreed the IPA was a bit heavy on the citrus notes so my guy opted for the The Apex Predator Ale on the next round which was much better. The food came out quickly where I had the Truffle Tortellini with cajun shrimp with Maddy's suggestion and it was SO good! My guy had the Alfredo with chicken which to both of us was a bit bland. After a while of the food being dropped off Maddy came around where we asked for some salt and pepper and parmesan which did help the alfredo dish. I ordered a second glass of 5oz wine, less than the already costly 8oz pour but our server brought the 8oz pour. She apologized when I told her was pretty sure I ordered the 5oz but told her I would just keep it. This place has good food, a nice kind of trendy atmosphere which is updated and stylish, with a good menu. Our service wasn't top notch but have had way worse and we thought Maddy was nice at least. The food and drinks are pricey but would definitely return.

On their menu, they have an amazing tomato soup/grilled cheese and falafel wrap that were SO good. I just wanted to recognize the service though. We were taken care of by the staff so nicely. They fit us in when we were late to our reso (had a sick Dog on our way to Jasper) and they were so attentive! I loved how they recommended different wines and liquor, as well as had a thorough knowledge of the menu. I really hope they see this and know that it was appreciated! Something special they did was bring out a birthday cake for my girlfriend. It was thoughtful and the server made the effort to make it gluten-free and vegan so she could eat it. So nice of them. It even had a little "Happy Birthday" note on it. I would 150% eat here again. If I stay at the JPL I really can't wait!

Seating inside it swank and comfy. Lots of configurations and a stellar window view of the lake is the spot to have. Service is cold but efficient. We had some questions about the menu and she went to get answers but didn't seem too excited to be asked. For dinner it's three tables of varying size so not crazy busy at 6pm mid week. The cheese plate was exceptional. Had a cider and the lavender mocktail was really fresh and delicious. The dinner menu wasn't a huge draw and we had hiked here from downtown. I'd come back on a return trip.

We were lucky to get a table at the window as there are only a few with lake views and they are all 2 seaters. We started with the Caesar salad which is unlike a traditional Caesar and I quite prefer this version as it has more interesting flavors and textures. Plus the chef didn't drown it in dressing. I enjoyed the duck entree and the husband had the steelhead. Both were very tasty and I'd recommend either depending your mood. We finished with the Pavlova and berries dessert which was a perfect ending to a lovely meal along with strong, hot black coffee. It Hit The Spot! Would definitely come back should we find ourselves in Jasper again. Cheers!

They were so good, we got another platter of wings x2 and fries to go. The tables are set far apart and our server wore a mask. The VLTs were divided by spit guards. It's up to you to sanitize before and after use. I wish their patio was open. The deck needs repair. What a shame. Kitchen opens at noon. I'm going to have that giant burger next time I'm through Hinton.

The Vacation Inn takes the top spot for these worst pizza I've had in my life! The crust is the heart of any good pie, and this stuff can't be passed off as pizza crust unless you have lost your sense of both taste and smell. It's bread that is flavored like the box it comes in. I've made better tasting pizza dough at home using quick rise yeast & bread flower for goodness sake. Over the pathetic crust, was a thin layer of toppings & next to no cheese which only helped to bring out the bitter cardboard crust flavor. Gag. Couldn't' even get one full piece down before both my wife & I tossed the rest in the trash. Might be one thing if this was an inexpensive pie, but each pizza was $25. So $50 bucks for bread flavored like cardboard. Gag again. If you want to sample the worst pizza you have likely ever had, give the Vacation Inn's pie a go - you won't be disappointed. It will make you appreciate any other pizza afterward.

Loulou's also serves pizzas, ranging from the basic to special pizza pies. My partner had the Loulou's breakfast, which includes two eggs, toast, potatoes, tomatoes and your choice of meats. I had the three-cheese omelette with potatoes and toast. Both dishes were very tasty and cooked to perfection. The ambiance of the restaurant almost looks like a 1950's dinner, and is super cool and very welcoming. Soft jazz music was playing while we were there, which made it relaxing as well. Service was excellent and spot on, very polite and professional. A must if you are in the area of downtown Jasper and even just passing through!! I look forward to returning to try their pizza.
