I've always worried about symmetry, shape and visibility of my blonde brows, and the discussion of "eyebrow blindness" on social media really pushed me to see a professional. I researched several highly rated eyebrow shaping salons, but many had a common theme: while some staff members were praised, high turnover made the results unpredictable. I chose Anita because she's the owner and the only one handling the work. I first contacted Anita to let her know I had no idea what services I needed (Wax? Threading? Tinting? Lamination?) but she said I could just book an appointment and she could change services if needed once we discussed in person. I was nervous about going to someone for the first time, but Anita listened to my concerns and put me at ease. She recommended keeping my fullness, explained she wouldn't go too thin, and I was confident she knew what she was doing. She recommended starting with the basics, and explained that lamination might be unnecessary. She suggested waxing for initial shaping, followed by threading for precision, and a light tint to define my brows without going too dark. Throughout, she worked carefully in cycles, letting me inspect the progress, comparing to before photos, and meticulously refining the shape until it was perfect. Waxing was not as painful as I expected, and she applied soothing aloe after. Threading was not at all painful. Waxing made my skin a bit red for a while afterwards, but I was going directly home afterwards so it didn't matter to me. I was nervous about tinting, but Anita explained the process, ensuring the shade wouldn't be too bold and said she could keep wiping to lighten if necessary. She said it would continue to fade and only lasts about 12 days, so I wasn't worried about a commitment if I didn't end up liking it. After the reveal, it initially seemed darker than I expected, and she offered to lighten, but after she showed me the before-and-after photos, I realized it was only a subtle change and I just wasn't used to it. The entire session, including tinting, took about 45 minutes and cost $60 ($40 for initial shaping and $20 tint), very reasonable cost for such personalized care. I've already received a bunch of complements on my brows, and am very happy with them. Anita's office is quiet and cozy, tucked inside an office complex (Salon Republic), and she plays soothing music while she works. For initial shaping or just need periodic upkeep, Anita will be my go-to for brows. And she also offers other services, like full body waxing.

I had been growing my eyebrows out for months because I wanted to change the shape and make them more even. Unfortunately, my brows were basically just cleaned up and shaped the way I already had them before, so I felt like I grew them out for nothing. I was also offered a tint to help make them look more even. Unfortunately, the tint didn't help and actually made the difference more noticeable because there was dark tint left on the skin underneath one brow, making it look even higher. I also felt like the tint didn't really change anything, so it felt like money wasted. I brought my daughter for her first brow shaping because she has very thick, long brows and only wanted them cleaned up and shaped. Unfortunately, hers were also left uneven -- one was thick and rounded while the other had a more pointed arch. She was disappointed as well. I will say the lady was very sweet, welcoming, and kind, and the place was extremely busy with lots of customers coming in and out. I have nothing negative to say about her customer service. Based on my experience, I would recommend this place more for cleaning up and maintaining an eyebrow shape you already like, rather than creating a new shape, evening out uneven brows, or doing a first-time brow transformation. For those services, I would personally look for someone who specializes more specifically in brow shaping.

It's located in the first floor of one of the big apartment buildings on San Pablo - it's a small kiosk type shop with a number of other beauty service related operations. Even though it is on SP, parking was really easy to find - I just parked around the corner on a side street less than a block away. Shanti was absolutely amazing! Her vibe is super chill and laid back and she has the precision of a surgeon. I couldn't believe how clean and perfect my brows were when she finished. As a first time threading recipient, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the pain is quite minimal. If you have any experience with tweezing and/or waxing, you'll be just fine. Shanti is really great making you feel comfortable. She holds great conversation and is really friendly. I would go back and make sure that I book with her specifically in the future just to hang with her again while she brings my brows back to life. I get my brows laminated every few months, and I like them to be really precise and combed and gel upwards and bushy. She took every stray hair out, evened them out and trimmed them where needed. All in about 15 minutes! Definitely don't sleep on this cozy little shop and get pampered at a great price with a professional with a ton of experience who makes it look really easy!

She is very professional. She takes the time to perfect the threading all the time. I always am satisfied with her service to the point that i have become a regular. Its worth it to have bought the membership for the full face+neck for three months at a reasonable price, plus its an unlimited three month service. I like how she always makes sure that her work has met my expectations and she truly does a great job for me every time i go to her. I am the pickiest person when it comes to my eyebrows, and this place was absolutely perfect. Nirmala was so nice and did a fantastic job on them. It was my first time ever with threading and she was so nice about it. We decided to go in on a whim, but I am so glad that we did. The price and service are both amazing, and I am sad to say that we are just visiting Berkeley, so I doubt I will ever get a chance to come back. I feel like she should raise the price--I felt bad paying her so little for the quality of work that she did. read more

The staff didn't flinch at my never-plucked brows or my not-yet-perfected skincare routines. They assured me they wouldn't overdo it and make me look like the girls in my high school classes with arches that made them appear perpetually surprised. They wouldn't try to make me look like someone else. They'd just shape my brows to look clean, neat, and compliment my face. Once it was done, I immediately felt better about my appearance. Even before the pinkness wore off on my freshly waxed skin, I was so happy. I immediately set up another appointment. Now I go every 4-6 weeks and get eyelash tinting too. I highly recommend the trio for anyone who wants to feel pretty when they wake up in the morning without having to apply makeup everyday.
