I've been coming here for almost a year ever since they opened and I love it. Nirmala is super nice, and she seriously always greets me with a smile. I usually just come in to get my eyebrows threaded but she offers upper lips, chin, whole face threading as well. She always asks if I would like aloe and gives me a mini-eyebrow massage at the end. She also has stamp cards as well. As a tip, if you have never been here, it's in shared space with a passport printing store. went to Style Eyebrow Threading, about a week ago. I'm pretty new to threading, but since I have started using Retin-A, the doctor tells me I cannot wax anymore. I had a favorite threading place back in WA, and I was terrified trying to find a new place here. I'm very particular about my eyebrows. But I trusted Yelp and I'm so glad I did. The first time I went in, I came in to test it. But after I saw the results I quickly bought a membership! She really takes her time and gets all the mini hairs others miss. She also puts aloe Vera at the end and gives a little eyebrow/head massage. I came in again just yesterday to clean it up and I'm still so happy with the results. Very kind lady too. I love getting my eyebrows done here because the lady does a great job. I usually tell her to keep my eyebrows on the thick side before she starts and they come out perfect. The only time they come out wrong was when I didn't say I wanted to keep them thick and she made them thinner than usual. Finding a good threading place is hard and I'm so glad I found one near where I live. This is by far my favorite eyebrow threading place. You are greeted very well. Nirmala did an awesome job on my eyebrows and upper lip. She was very gentle with my eyebrows, and gave a great shape, did a good job of clean up if that's all you want. So bummed. Tried this place for the good reviews. Just wanted my brows cleaned up. The lady totally changed the shape. She didn't ask at all and took it upon herself to decide that a different shape all together was what I must have wanted. I've spent the last two years getting hem perfectly shaped and thickened. My brows are already shaped from the lady I see in San Diego, but the lady here did a great job cleaning them up and shaping them so they looked great for my birthday. BE WARNED: I love threading but I always break out always. I actually broke out a bit less with the threading job done here, but don't get threaded 2-3 days before a big event because you will most likely get pimples. I have mixed feelings about this place. I have been there twice only. Both visits were in February. The first time she (forgot her name) didn't trim one of my eyebrow well and the other time she removed too much hair on one brow. My eyebrows are pretty problematic but I have had much better results from other places before. Not sure if I would recommend this to other people but it is cheap ($8). The lady is very nice though so I will still go back since I am going to be in Berkeley for just a few more months. I am hoping I will having a better experience next time. read more

I think this place is a hit or miss. This place is good for a clean up but don't expect to get super nice shaped eyebrows. I remember going one time and the lady was in such a rush because the place was almost closing and she had like 2 people waiting so she rushed it and I ended up getting some cuts and my eyebrows were uneven. But another time I went she did a really great job, my eyebrows were cleaned up but they weren't shaped as nice. It was probably because the person before did a terrible job, but still, you'd think they would try to at least make it look better. read more

The woman who did my eyebrows was quick, efficient, and a real sweetheart -- she was also very festive in her Santa's hat! I usually wait to get my brows threaded back at home, but now I've found a place here in Berkeley that I'll be going back to. Don't let the "Foto Shop" awning and "Eyebrow Threading" sign under it make you nervous, this place is definitely my go-to to get my eyebrows threaded. Nirmala is really friendly and so adorable. I've had my eyebrows done at this place back home, and the prices for over there were double what Nirmala charges (she charges $9). She gets her job done in less than half an hour, and it is never really painful. When she asks if you want aloe, say yes because she gives a relaxing mini-head massage. read more

I've been once, and I was honestly freaked out about going in since I definitely didn't pass as female at the time. I came here for the brow threading service once a month for the three years that I lived in Berkeley. Nirala is so sweet. I never went home with wacky brows, weird cuts, or bumps, even though I have very sensitive skin. The price is very reasonable as well. Only $9 and you can pay with cash or credit/debit. The place is closed on Sundays and busy (though not crazy on Saturdays), so try to come on the weekdays. read more
