Good BBQ spot. I went on a Friday night. It was after the dinner rush and most of the food was in warmer trays but still pretty good overall.

Service? Rude. I tried to give this place a try because the reviews are kind of mix. For the amount of money you pay the portions are small and they were out of every single meat option so if you are wanting BBQ meat, sorry you're lucked out.. It's only the options they have available for you. As for the meat itself it was tender, but the flavors are not there. Sadly you have to drench the sauces in the meat in order for it to actually be edible. The salad, sooo good. But guess what? On my third bite there was a whole 2 long pieces of hair that was swirling around the whole salad!!! Sigh, my appetite? Lost. Cornbread 4/5, greens? 4/5. Mac/cheese 3/5. Overall, i won't be back. The cashier was so hesitant to even give me a full refund for my salad. The salad was $18...like seriously? I came to feed my family and everything was just terrible.

Delicious BBQ. Great menu. And they serve beer, wine and spirits. The bbq was tender, meat fell off the bone. Great service and casual setting. I had ribs, brisket, collard greens - which were too vinegary, but tender nevertheless, and cornbread. Ordered a Jack and Ginger with a twist of lemon. Yummers!!! Can't wait to return!

Stupid Good BBQ is another great addition to the group of inspiring DMV smoked protein shops! Since it was my first time here, I tried their 2 proteins + 1 side combo with the choice brisket in chopped form and their smoked turkey plus the potato salad. The combo also includes a moist and tasteful corn bread square. The brisket was flavorful, moist and tender, and the smoked turkey had the right amount of smokiness and saltiness. I just wished the three slices of turkey were thicker or there was an additional 4th slice of turkey. As I stated earlier, I chose the potato salad as my side. It had the right amount of cook and the right amount of crunch, as well as a good cream texture and smooth taste over the whole salad. I would order this side again and again. Like a lot BBQ joints in the DMV, this place does counter ordering and counter pickup. I look forward to trying the pulled pork, pulled chicken and the jalapeno sausage at my next visits.

I saw this place on Instagram and figured Id come by. We walked in and the customer service was awesome. The cashier was very pleasant and offered us her opinion on which meats to chose. She recommended 4 types so we split the difference and overall got all 4. There were several tables and they were all clean. They offered booster chairs and high chairs for my 2 year old. We sat down and waited for our food which different take long. I ordered the Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken and Brisket. This came with two sides (Fries and Collard Greens) along with cornbread. The pulled pork was good. The chicken was different. I wish I had more brisket. For $27 I believe this is a good deal overall. The Collard Greens could have been better. There was to much vinegar for me. The Fries were thick and rather tasteless. My wife ordered the Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket. Same comments on the pulled pork and Brisket. The ribs were seasoned well and delicious. The service got even better as there was a gentlemen that walked around and checked on us. Overall, this is a good spot in Springfield. I don't think they have many places like this. The food is ok. The service is great. Totally worth a try.

Impressed. Prices are not too high. Very much a millennial barbecue place, but at least its real barbecue. The cole slaw is wonky... not enough mayo, and they put mustard in it - so I was told. Walk up service, not table, which is strange because they ask for a tip. Pro forma Roll of paper towels at the table. Fountain drinks help yourself, I can't really find anything wrong with it. Nice place to get barbecue!

Cold dreary Sunday after thanksgiving. Cute place!

They don't have discount for military, they don't have okra and they don't have Texas toast! That's my 3 complaints. The server was great and friendly. The food was good. I would suggest not wasting your money on the wagyu I believe the normal brisket is just as good.

Customer service was good. The brisket was extremely fatty. I ordered 2 meats but was given mostly turkey. The turkey had a weird inedible taste and texture. Cornbread was okay.

Best BBQ option in the area at a decent price in an inflated economy. I've been here a few times now and each time is solid. The meats and sides are good in size and taste. I like how they serve beer and alcohol as some BBQ spots with similar setups didn't. The service is great and they bring out your trays. There is a variety of sauces at the table. I hope they maintain this quality. The front door is unmarked and hard to find though lol.

A few of us stopped in for lunch to give this place, the most recent Great American Restaurant our first try. GAR restaurants are solid and know for their excellent customer service and their interesting menus, which they execute nearly perfectly every time. Operating a smokehouse isn't the same, as it takes a special type of chef to be a pitmaster and most "chefs" aren't pitmasters. That being said, I figured it would be tough for chain, even a local chain which is excellent to do a smokehouse. The majority of the reviews and comments in local foodie groups I reviewed weren't too positive about this place, but I needed to try it for myself. I got a sampling of proteins; prime brisket, turkey, ribs, and sausage. The brisket was easily the best - nice crust and smoke, while being tender. The next up were the ribs, as they were tender and nicely smoked. But the sausage was pretty bad, tasted too much like raw pork with a tough casing and hardly any smoke. Then the turkey was the worst... one person in my group said it had the taste and texture of the turkey you get in a Lunchable and as soon as he said that, it was immediately what I thought of, as it reminded me of the same thing. Really wasn't good at all. When it came to the sides, they were decent, with the beans being the best and the mac & cheese next up. The potatoes in the potato salad were too hard, not al dente, but harder. The cornbread was excellent though. Overall, the service and venue were nice, but the meat was too inconsistent. I can see why this place gets the no-so-good reviews it does. I won't be back.

Decided to try this place after seeing it pop up on my TikTok. First impressions, really convenient location as parking is always one of my top things of whether I attempt to go somewhere or not. It was very clean inside and spacious. The staff were all very welcoming and able to give their personal recommendations of favorites whether it came to the food or the different sauces. Since we placed an order to go, I felt the time between placing the order and receiving the food was quite fast. So I ended up ordering the kids size pulled chicken sliders, chili, and the smashed potatoes . My partner ordered Mac and cheese and the ribs. Portion wise, I thought was pretty good. For the sauces we picked 3 (Texas Trails, Stupid Good BBQ, Kansas City) based on recommendation from staff. I think our favorite was Kansas City. The chili came with toppings (cheese, sour cream, purple onions, green onions) all separated for the to-go order. I thought the chili was okay. I felt the same for all the other items ordered, it was okay not bad. I'll probably revisit again in the future.

I have always loved the pulled pork sandwich served at Sweetwater Tavern, but I never get there early enough, and they have invariably run out of it by the time I arrive :-( Problem solved! Now that Stupid Good BBQ is open, I can go there anytime and get the same awesome pulled pork sandwich The service was friendly and fast. The restaurant was very clean and everything was really tasty.

Comfy, family style, date night vibes! The service is phrnomenal. Friendly servers, calm environment. The food. The delicious food! Barbecued meats were tender and juicy. Succulent. Even the fountsin drinks were good. Everyone was raving about the sweet tea! I was not raving about the sides, but everyone else was. Im going to visit this place again and again because i am satisfied.

I've never heard of this spot before, and you typically will not find me in Springfield. However, a few of us made lunch plans this past Good Friday to take advantage of the $29.99 AYCE weekday lunch pricing. We got three rounds of beef brisket (chadol), one thin & thick pork belly (samgyupsal) each, and half an order of large intestine (daechang). The chadol was a little too fatty than I'd like, but it was high quality and comparable to non-AYCE options like Meokja Meokja. I didn't love the thin samgyupsal as much, but the thick version was so meaty and juicy. The intestines were a fatty treat, and I was good with just a couple bites. We had to ask for ssamjang and sesame oil for sauces, which they were generous with giving. Our server was pretty attentive, but we thought it was weird that he cooked the thin samgyupsal and the beef brisket at the same time. As for sides, we asked for lots of them (sadly our corn cheese never came). The fermented soybean stew was strong, but a bit too salty at the end. The egg bomb was fluffy and delicious. They also have ramen (aka shin ramen) which we enjoyed by adding several pieces of chadol and letting it soak in there to get that deep meaty flavor. I enjoyed the kimchi throughout the meal, which was the perfect "not quite fresh, but still crunchy" texture. Overall, we ate to our heart's content. I definitely would be back for more chadol, thick samgypsal, and a bit of daechang in the future. The $30 pricing is a steal for the amount of food we got, but I'd hesitate to pay for the $40 dinner price. I don't eat enough at AYCE spots to get my money's worth, so I would rather spend that $40 at a non-AYCE spot for higher quality cuts like galbi and rib tips.

Easily some of the best I've had in the area in a long time, and they set the bar high going into the meal. Once we got to the meat, though, it was a little underwhelming. The all you can eat selection was limited, and a lot of the flavors leaned sweet. We were hoping for more savory, classic Korean BBQ flavors. The sauces were fine, but nothing that really stood out. If we came back, we would definitely add on the ribeye or galbi instead of sticking strictly to the all you can eat option. Service was great and attentive, and the atmosphere is solid for the Springfield area. That said, our hood vent almost came off mid grill, which definitely took away from the experience. Overall, a strong start with great banchan and service, but the BBQ itself did not quite deliver.

As expected, it was busy, but the restaurant does have a fairly large parking lot which made arrival easier. The setup was interesting. After checking in downstairs, I was given a ticket and directed upstairs for seating. I took the elevator, which offered a clear view of the kitchen below as it ascended... definitely a unique touch. Upstairs, another host staff guided us to our table. The space had a lively feel, roaring with chatter from customers, and I could see parts of the kitchen where food was being prepared over an open flame, which added to the overall atmosphere. For the food, we started with the calamari. It was cooked well and had a nice texture, especially paired with the crispy onion shoestrings, which added a good crunch and flavor. It was served over a lobster sauce, although the lobster flavor wasn't very noticeable. The main issue was the salt level... it was quite heavy! I did enjoy it overall, but I would only recommend it to someone who doesn't have to watch their sodium intake. For entrées, I ordered the steak cooked medium with broccolini. The dish automatically comes with mashed potatoes, and while I was able to substitute the salad for broccolini, there didn't seem to be flexibility with the potatoes. After tasting the mashed potatoes, I wish I was offered to substitute it as it tasted like the brown box we grew up on where you just added water. When the food came out, the steak was closer to medium-well or well done rather than medium, and both the mashed potatoes and broccolini were a bit cold. I chose not to send it back since we waited but it did affect the overall experience. My guest ordered the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were well-prepared--tender with a clean pull off the bone--and were probably the highlight of the meal. The fries were also very good and came out hot. The coleslaw wasn't as well received, described as having too many of the tougher parts of the cabbage. Overall, the experience had some positives, especially in terms of atmosphere and certain menu items like the ribs and fries. While I did enjoy parts of the meal, it's not somewhere I would personally return to, but it may be worth trying once to form your own opinion.
