However, no one ever answered or returned my calls when I tried to confirm if early pickup was possible. The real issue came after drop-off. We returned the truck exactly at the agreed-upon time and parked it in the same spot we picked it up from, keys locked in the drop box as instructed. The next morning, I got a frantic call saying the truck was "missing." I explained where we left it, but the woman insisted she couldn't find it anywhere on the lot. When I asked if she had checked the lockbox, she admitted she hadn't -- then said she'd call back if there were any issues. I never heard from her again. No apology, no confirmation that the truck was indeed there -- nothing. It was very unprofessional and stressful thinking a U-Haul truck might be missing under my name. Clearly, she hadn't looked properly before calling. If you're renting from this place, make sure to take lots of photos to confirm that you actually returned the truck.

Approximately 2 months ago I received an email informing that work was to be completed on the elevator that brings renters to the 2nd floor. I am a disabled citizen and although the service would be very inconvenient perhaps it was necessary. Well, the elevator IS STILL under repair. I spoke with an attorney who represents clients with American Disabilities Association issues and was informed in part that since there WAS another elevator in the structure I could not claim that I was being prevented access to my owned property. Yes, there is indeed a second elevator but it is almost 50 YARDS from my end of the building. I filed a negative review to proclaim my situation and was contacted by a women (Upper management?) who first acted somewhat surprised that I was disabled but not offered no resolution except to refund me 1/2 month rental. What is this small refund supposed to do? I find the business practices of Extra Space Storage to be unbelievably anti-customer and the attitude of the management personnel to be insulting. I can only say that they WILL get their deserved rewards in the afterlife.

New red head employee locked my unit while I was reloading stuff to bring from my car. I had to track her down. She informed me that it was "not my (her) problem." She had seen me on the location and we had even acknowledged each other, so she knew it was my unit. At 1 point, she said that if I didn't lock my unit, even when just reloading from my car, then things could be stolen. I had the door down, no one else was on that floor, and as for trying to keep my things safe- me being stuck waiting for her was putting them in much more jeopardy than me walking it up to store it. I tried to explain, but she just kept cutting me off. There was another customer in the office & I was in a rush (bcs I was volunteering at a nonprofit function tonight), so I suggested that she help him and then she could help me. Her response? "Oh, you're funny" (WTH?!??!) and then she walked over to the customer and, sitting at the computer, glared at me and said "I'm gonna take my time." And then she proceeded to CHITCHAT with the other customer! Seriously?!?! That's how the new staff is going to treat a customer renting 2 units and causing NO problems?!?!! AVOID HER!!
