I'm a big fan of this place. Although I did forget the name I find the drinks at good prices for the Southbank, thus it is memorable for something! The barmen are pleasant. If you pay by card for drinks under £10 they'll charge you ten and give you change. They make excellent mojito's. Trust me!

On the second day of my trip to the UK two falls ago I visited the London Eye. Since the line... oh, excuse me... que was long, we decided to grab some eats at a nearby restaurant. Though it had only been two days, I experienced some sub-par meals. The meal I had here at Studio Six was the first decent meal I had in England. I had the Braised Lamb Shank served in its own jus. The great thing about Europe is that they love their alcohol, and this lamb was surely braised in a substantial amount of red wine. No, I'm not complaining at all. The shank was served with some roasted new potatoes (aka young potato) and a medley of bell peppers (see pic). I'm a sucker for lamb shank especially when it's prepared right. With lamb shank, you just need to bring out and accent the lamb flavor, and above all cook it right. Studio Six did its job with the shank by keeping it simple, and letting the lamb speak for itself. Accompanying the meal was a refreshing Hacker-Pschorr wheat beer that was suggested by the waiter in place of the Magner's I had requested because they were out. It was a damn good German beer that I'll have to look up here in the states. I think my buddy had the burger, but I can't really remember. It was so long ago. But then again, I remember my meal as if it was a few digestive cycles ago. Cheers!

The Food: We did the Valentine's set menu, and a fair warning: it creeps up on you! Every course is delicious, but by the time dessert arrived, we were absolutely stuffed. Even if you aren't typically a seafood fan, give it a chance here. The dishes are incredibly approachable, well-balanced, and clearly had a lot of thought put into the flavors. The Vibe & Dress Code: The atmosphere is unmatched, but learn from our mistake! We spent the day exploring Covent Garden and didn't have time to head back and change. You definitely want to dress smart-professional to match the elegance of the restaurant. We felt a little underdressed for the level of experience they provide! Summary: Romantic, delicious, and worth every penny. Just dress up and come hungry!

Given how difficult it was to get a seat, I would have liked to have been seated in the main dining room with the more impressive array of decorations, but my tiny table tucked away in a corner near the entrance wasn't all bad; decorations were still plentiful, and I didn't feel in the way of passing traffic. With the food, you get what you pay for; which may not be as much as you might think given the "poshness" of the place. Without booze, you shouldn't end up paying more than £50pp. The menu has an array of seasonal favorites like Hertfordshire Beef with a red wine jus, roast chicken with leeks and girolle mushrooms, and seasbass with Autumn vegetables. Seasonal desserts are also available and the booze is seemingly never-ending. You can never go wrong with the chicken here, regardless of season, and with a seasoned sommelier always on-hand, rest assured all your wine pairing needs will be met. The beef and venison dishes are also superb, with both light and hearty sides to compliment them perfectly. Dessert can be a hit or miss. I didn't like my first experience here with the Delice, but my second experience was a delicious poached pear with a superb buckwheat ice cream and buckwheat-infused biscuit. I paired mine with the recommended Bordeaux wine to wash down the sweetness, and let me tell you, it was an extra £14 well spent. Overall, this isn't the type of place you visit every week, or even every month, but it's definitely worth planning months in advance to come during the hholiday season. Reservations are a MUST.

Couldn't recommend it more. Chicken Mezze plate was very good, tender and juicy but not under cooked, good variance in type of chicken as well. Falafel could have been the best I have ever had. Can always tell the quality of it by the dryness and chick pea to herb ratio. Fantastic. Garlic potatoes - very good with peppers. Cold Mezze- excellent but would have wanted more tabouleh if possible but you can't have everything. Hummus Babaganoush and Labneh all top draw. With a good glass of red the whole thing came to less than 80 pounds. Unreal. Service was ace not a thing to complain about. What a place. The service was okay except for our server lady, she seemed a bit rude. The other severs were all pretty good. The atmosphere is very very pretty. Especially inside! We sat outside because it was a perfect late September afternoon to enjoy the decent weather. And listen to the side shows going on around the courtyard across the way.

It was tasty but I'm not a fan of chicken thighs so I gave it to my husband. Ambiance was nice, if you're looking to splurge on a lunch, this is a nice one.

The server resisted my request but then wrapped up the rest of my meal and brought it to me. What really put me off was that he then squatted down next to me- as if I were a child- and explained to me that they don't normally "do this" for people but they were making an exception for me- almost like a guilt trip! We had just dropped £350 or so on our meals, wine and drinks and I'm made to feel like a burden because I wanted the remainder of my £25 main to take home?! This is the norm these days to offer take-away and why waste perfectly good food? Really left me with a sour taste in my mouth after what was otherwise a pleasant meal.
