We came here and I have to say that the coordination between the kitchen and the waiters is amazing. We ordered lahmaçun with truffles but we heard the chef explaining to the waiter why they don't have truffles and we had it with extra cheese. All this was done with extreme respect. This is a big positive in terms of my first impression due to the excellent communication. This is my Abe review:
We ordered:
1.borek: this was filled with cheese and a hint of mint. This was unique because it had carrots and spinacg
2. Egg plant (Aubergine parmagiano): i could see the sumak on it, looks amazing. Aubergine slices, nice and sweet, very light. The moutabbal dip was not overpowering.
3. Cheese pide with egg on top: this was truly a comforting taste bud adventure. The cheese melts in your mouth and the bread has a crunch to its crust. The egg which was smothered on top of the pide was amazing.
4. lahmaçun: there is a spicy kick to this which hits you as you finish your morsel of this light bread delight. There is an amazing crunch to this culinary creation in which you can truly appreciate this Turkish food.
5. Salad: the salad is finely chopped and has a unique tomato sauce which is not really overempowering. It is freshly prepared and you can taste the freshness.
6. Kaskak: this was the star of the main courses. The lamb meat melts in your mouth. There is a unique sweet and savoury taste to this Turkish grainy delight. It is a beautiful mouth orgasm initiator. You can taste the hint of lemon in the meat, which means that the marination is on point!
5. Yogurtlu Kebab: the meat was doner meat which is the authentic style. The sauce could have been more in amount. Not enough yoghurt. It seemed that the bread at the bottom of the dish was fried pre- prepared. Nothing special.
6. Kunefe: sweet, cheezy and the pistachio ice cream complimented if not heightened the sugary heavenly experience.
7. Turkish coffees: authentic, strong. Only downside is that there was no small glass of water and lokum that usually comes with it.
Service staff: very friendly and helpful. The service was very quick and as soon as we finished one dish, the other came. So this is on the whole what a seasoned restaurant customer should expect. So the service was of a high standard.
