I had a few disasters before I found my stylist in Atlanta. So, when I moved, I put off trying someone new for as long as possible. I finally put on my big-girl panties and tried The Beauty Bar because it was close to my house and had some good online buzz. I was not disappointed. Melissa heard what I had to say, gave me a delicious shampoo, and the haircut looks super cute 24 hours later. Atmosphere: They seem to be marketing to a younger, dare I say "hipper" crowd. I enjoyed it. I was offered a drink while I was waiting, which was nice. (though I had to decline, as I had to go back to work afterward.) It's a smaller space for a salon, but they do a nice job making it feel sleek and open with windows, light and mirrors. One thing to be aware of: 1. If you are sensitive to smells, this may not be the place for you. They are a full service salon in a pretty small space, so the chemical smells are really intense.

I went in with the explanation of how I had never colored my hair a crazy color, and wanted to to do it one time. But I still wanted to have a professional look, and man did Sun deliver! The purple lasted a pretty long time as well and it faded perfectly so that it didn't need much of a touching up. Now that all the purple is gone I'm left with a caramel blonde ombre on the bottom with my dark brown natural hair up top and it still Blends flawlessly. I still get compliments on the color of my hair :-)

I made an appointment through Morgan the new owner to see stylist Kaylie for their required consultation prior to having a service appointment. Four days prior to this appointment, I immediately notified Morgan through her message app (which by the way has a grammer error) that I had to cancel due to a work related schedule change. I asked Morgan two questions. One do you use the Redkin color line? Or what is your current color line? And do you have some place to direct me to see current portfolio pictures of Kaylie's work? I only see on YELP pictures advertising Stephanie's work, and she is no longer there. Not all stylist's artist abilities are the same when it comes to doing ice blond high / low light coloring. Morgan keep sending reminder notices for my approaching appointment, so I politely sent her another notice again letting her know I had to unfortunately cancel. I few days later I got a curt response telling me Kaylie is going out on maternity leave and she has no openings. After three emails Morgan never answered my other questions. If you want people to respect you and your business than you have to be respectful back. Our time is just as valuable as your time. If you are asking people to spend hundreds of dollars at your salon for services than you have to be able to show current portfolio pictures of your work not other people's work. The treatment I recieved left me feeling that because I wasn't someone they could immediately make money off of I now was not even worthy to respond back too. That is not professional nor nice.

He scheduled me with Paige for the next day. I have to say that she gave me the best cut I think I've ever had, plus she's a great personality and it was an enjoyable time. On August 28th my 17 year daughter had a consultation with stylist Sena to go over an appointment…read morefor a full color of vibrant green. She showed her a picture for an example and she agreed she could do it and the amount of $360 for the appointment. On September 2nd she had her hair appointment and the results were no where near her expectation. She sat in the chair for 5 hours and when she was finished Sena told her "Well you got semi cool hair". My daughter left in tears and stated to me she "never felt uglier". (Fortunately she had a friend fix it for her that night). I called the salon and talked to the manager Morgan asking for a full refund and she would not return to the salon for a correction as it already was redone by her teenage friend with the exact results she wanted. I was also told my child, who is a minor, was asked and signed a waiver for no liability of damage. Parental consent should have been given per Oregon Law. Morgan said that my daughter told her she was 18, (my daughter said she never discussed her age) nor was she asked for ID. I have asked Morgan for the immediate copy of the waiver and still haven't received it. After multiple email, and phones calls, asking to speak to the owner, communication ceased. I went to the salon today and asked to speak to the manager, owner, and stylist Sena. Morgan came to the front desk and I again asked her if I could talk to Sena and the owner, in which she told me the "owner lived out of state and doesn't answer phone calls because she trusts her to run the salon". I asked for a copy of the waiver and she refused and said my daughter needed to come in herself because she was the client. I replied that wouldn't be happening and as her parent I was representing her. Morgan then became aggressive after I told her that I had no choice but to write a bad review and post on social media so this doesn't happen to another client, much less another teen. I also told her I would be filing with Small Claims court to recoup loss of money. At that point Morgan loudly asked me to leave the salon, in which I did without incident. I am yet to talk to the stylist Sena, or owner, Renae Tichenor nor do I have anyway to do so because the email goes directly to Morgan. Not once did Morgan offer an apology or any sympathy. I suggest if you find interest in this salon to go elsewhere. We are highly dissatisfied and my child was left emotionally distraught.
