I have been taking my dog here for years and the last few times I clearly requested they not shave her bottom so heavily. I am so disappointed because they did it again. I've been going here for years for nail trims with my dog. Yesterday I drove away and realized her nails were really rough, splitting and uneven. I drove back and pointed this out. I was basically attacked by the women at the register. the woman Melissa who did them in under two minutes came out and wanted to know what kind of nail trim my appointment was for! it definitely was not this kind and never had been in the past! she took her back. The women at the front kept insisting this would cost $3 more! I told them to use the tip I left since I didn't have my purse. they threatened that they had my credit card on file. Wow! I am so disappointed in this shop! I had been taking my Siberian Husky here, on & off for 8 years. Typically when she's experiencing a blow and we just can't get her brushed well enough (she's not a breed that requires routine grooming). I've always been impressed with they're treatment of her during her appts. That's where the positivity ends. What I'm not happy with, is their attitude over the phone, they're willingness to recommend a groomer they have no experience with (they referred us just because it's in the area) and they're sense of entitlement! I'm all for cheering on a local business when in their prime of success but please, don't forget about the people who helped get you there! They seem to be too busy for their britches and have no interest in keeping established customers or treating them with kindness. read more

Struttin Pup has been my favorite pet supplier for more than a decade now. Their staff is very knowledgeable and they always have everything I need to keep my kitties fed well. I know their doggie grooming services are in high demand right now, because they are the BEST! So call way ahead to get an appointment... they have their professional groomers working every possible minute right now and are booked two months out! Such a gem! Have had nothing but good experiences here. Well informed staff on the food lines they offer which is all high quality food. We have also been taking our two pitbulls here for grooming, bath and brush, and they treat them so well. I can't comment too much on the grooming because it's so basic but we have been happy. Both the people and pets in this house get excited going into Struttin' Pup. New ownership doesn't seem to have changed much, and it's still a fantastic pet boutique. Their groomers ROCK. Our Tibetan Spaniel always goes in with knots in his fur and long nails, and comes out looking gorgeous and smelling great, and most importantly he's smiling! Treats and food are expensive, but on par with other pet boutiques in Boulder county. read more

Egad! It's incredibly frustrating to find the right place for my child, Elvis. I fell in love when I called to make an appointment... A woman with a raspy voice answered and asked me about "my baby", and I knew this fine establishment gets it. I saw dogs leaving with smiles on their faces (something I never dreamed possible), and my confidence level soared! We arrived a wee bit early and had the opportunity to look around the store. They carry first class toys and treats; completely unique and a wide variety. There were things I did not know existed... I would name them, but I fear some people would judge (?). I'm not sure if that makes sense; just go to here and experience the selection for yourself. I feel like a terrible person that I do not remember our petcare specialist's name (If management reads this, our dog is Elvis (the basset!) Hunter at 2pm on Jan. 21st); We had a couple of questions and she was incredibly knowledgeable! Moreover, knowledgeable about the breed... which is rare. Now mind you, Elvis is a used dog... we inherited him (used are the best because they are already trained!), and he was groomed, pre-us, at a a not so great chain store. I struggled to find a place with good hours (for a working family), that does an extraordinary job and treats my furbaby like family. Struttin' pup checks all the boxes. Excellent grooming services and great guidance on dog food. My dog isn't into food and we've been through many attempts to resolve this without resorting to a raw diet. We've been giving her EVOO on her food which helps but could be problematic if we did it daily indefinitely. They helped us find a dog food our dog actually likes and she now eats immediately when we put her food down. Amazing. She's four years old so this has been a long journey. read more

I really did want to like this place. I just had my second really awful experience here and finally decided it was time to throw in the towel with this place and write up a review. The first experience, I brought my dogs in for nail trims. I was loitering around the store waiting for older dog to finish up and I started to hear the groomer talking to him. First, she was saying stuff like "oh my God, come on! Stay still" etc. After a few seconds of mumbling grumpily she actually started to yell at him, and I'm not talking a stern command to stay or sit. I'm talking actual angry yelling. She was yelling "STOP!" and as I peeked around the corner there was old dog looking away, trembling in terror and pulling his paw away from her. He is super sensitive to anger and, surprise, doesn't respond well to it, so her yelling at him to "stop" was actually making him more afraid and making it a whole lot more difficult. She kept yelling 'JUST STOP!' and other things the whole rest of the time. I was too shocked and don't like confrontation, so I just took my dog and left. The second time, I took them in for nails again. I always do the filing since I have hardwood floors. I reminded the groomer of this. Well, I pay, get dogs home, and start petting old dog and find most of his nails are rough, sharp, and jagged. If none were filed I would think maybe she forgot, but this horrible half-done job says to me that she didn't want to deal with my "difficult" dog anymore and just quit. She didn't say a word other than that my dogs didn't like it and she let me pay for a service that she knew she didn't finish. I have taken old dog to a groomer for 10 years in my old state, and had one groomer in Longmont before moving here. I always asked about the nail trims and the groomers always told me he does just fine. In 10 years I've never had a groomer say anything bad about it. At Struttin' Pup, he's been yelled at and he's come out unfinished. It seems to go along with some of these other reviews about their staff just being rude and unprofessional. I'll be making an extra long drive from now on to take my dog to Longmont where the groomer is professional, actually does his job, and treats my dog well. read more

This is a review about their customer service, or lack thereof. My dog has been groomed here previously so I called today (Monday 21 at 1:05) to see if they had an opening today. After 5 rings someone picked up the phone and placed it back down. I heard silence but was still connected so I waited thinking it was a mistake. Again someone picks it up and places it back down before I could speak. 3 more times they did this with me saying HELLO and finally the last time I asked if they were closed and I was met with a click. Still connected on the call I hung up and called back. This time I was met with a recording which gave the hours they are open (9:30-6:30 means they were SUPPOSED to be open) and I was invited to leave a message. I left a message that indicates how rude and unprofessional it is to try to hang up on a customer that many times. Honestly, a statement of "we're at lunch" or "we're closed today" would have sufficed. I will not be back and I don't encourage anyone else to either. read more

A friend recommended this place to me, and I am glad, as I found a dog accessory for fur kids like mine who like to lick, lick, called the Likimat. You spread a soft treat on it, and the dog gets to lick it off. It slows down their eating something, so they have to work at it more. We love it here! There are groomers to make your dogs beautiful. However, if you have two little mutts like ours you may prefer the washing stations for rent in the back. They give you everything, you just bring the dogs. Choose from the shampoo of choice that works best for your dog and their skin. They also provide towels, brushes and dryers to use on your dog. In addition to great grooming services there is a large selection of quality treats and food for your pets. We like the selection of toys and bones. Not only did they make an awesome basket full of everything from toys to snacks, they clearly enjoyed helping us make it perfect for our little guy. They asked us all sorts of questions about Sherman so they could pick out things he may enjoy. I'm writing this review a couple months after our purchase and the squeaky monkey and pull toy are still his favorites. I also like that the food they chose for him was all natural and healthy. I'm very surprised at the one star reviews as our experience was really over the top. Wow, I'm surprised to see bad reviews here. I have been frequenting Struttin Pup for years and have always had fantastic service. They have great products available for pets and the dogwash system is great. Sooz is the best around. I have a rescue Maltese and I don't know much about her past, but she had a major fear of grooming and strangers. This review is mixed, although in general, I love this place. I hate Petco and PetSmart, and I'm so freaking picky about pet stores it's kind of ridiculous. The Pros: They know me and my dog. We are there all the time and I use the self-serve wash and we buy treats and I get her food there. They are friendly (in general) and treat my dog with respect (she's so skiddish and afraid of everything). The Cons: I've only had one bad experience with nail trimming there with a groomer, and I guess she left. She must of man-handled my dog and traumatized her, because now my dog needs my husband to hold her while she gets her nails trimmed. Only once, but it still left an impact on my dog, and I kind of felt I should have been credited the trim. There have been a few people there that I hated and were absolutely rude, but I haven't seen them in a while, so I'm going to assume they've noticed their rudeness and got rid of them :) All in all, I love this place. It's more relaxed, and the people that work there aren't the usual creepy pet boutique owners I'm used to encountering ;) I'm there every 2-3 weeks, so I'm super familiar! Just before COVID hit, we went to Struttin Pup and got some CBD oil for our cat that our vet recommended we try since our cat is very nervous and has a urinary issue. The store-keeper showed us exactly what to get and even how much to use and how to read the dosing chart and make adjustments. I LOVE Struttin Pup! Everyone who works there is so wonderful and kind. We just had our puppy groomed there and Koley did an amazing job. She was so sweet, just lovin on our little guy, and it was by far the best haircut he's had! She did exactly what I asked for -- just perfect! They also don't keep your dog for hours or stick them in a kennel while they work on other dogs, which is way better in my opinion. I am so happy we found this place. We LOVE everyone at Struttin' Pup. When our magnificent rescue husky came to live with us a year ago, she was bone thin under her fluff - she would not eat. NOT a THING! Not even the irresistible stuff even the most reluctant dog will lap up. We tried pretty much everything in the store - no kidding! They keep sending us home with arm-loads of "samples". Finally one of the guys suggested Freeze dried rabbit ears (yep, cute little crispy bunny ears, fur and all). From a referral from a friend, I have a 2-year-old golden and took him in to be groomed for the very first time. Caitlyn work on him. I was very nervous and did not know how he would behave- She explained what she would do and if I had any preferences, that I explained to her. The store gave me a call 20 before the 2-hour appointment ended to say that they were complete. They took care of my kiddo- he looked light and tailored- they shared with me work what they had completed and any issues if any they were open with- of course being his first time with a dryer. my boy does not like people to touch his ears and so I was surprised that she could do as much cleaning as she could with him being the first time. i loved that he was not stressed out - these groomers knew how to groom a young golden with feathering. I will definitely use this place again- they do get booked up so call a few weeks ahead of time. thanks!!! read more

We've taken our dog here numerous times to have his nails trimmed. Upon getting him home after the most recent time, we inspect the job and find that many of the nails haven't even been touched. I called to complain, only to be informed that their groomers had all left (it's hours before they close) and the gentlemen I was speaking to hung up on me. This place is close to my parents' house, and my dog and I were visiting from out of town. We stopped by to pick up some food and treats for our stay, and the employees were more interested in hanging out with each other than helping their customers. The selection was decent and we were given an obligatory "can I help you with anything?" upon arriving, but that was pretty much it. When I went to purchase my items, the cashier barely even looked at me. She rung up my items, and spent her time chatting with the other employees. I sat there waiting for a receipt to sign, while another employee walked in the door and they all chatted. After standing there awkwardly, I asked if I needed to sign, and they said no. Stumbled on this place by accident when I was going to lunch with my boyfriend near the YMCA. I live in Denver and he's in Boulder Co so I asked him if he new of a self-serve dog wash in Lafayette....an he told me about this place. It's nice, clean, and great staff. Score! When I went to pay, to my surprise it wa Half Price Wednesday so a wash for a 70 lbs dog was only $6. Even $12 is a bargain compared to Denver and way cleaner than places like Muddy Paws. Don't let my dog read this, she still looks at me pitifully as if I took away her toy after washing her yesterday! I've got a shedder not a groomer so I just go in and wash her - I have no experience with their grooming service. Baths are clean, large selection of shampoos, and they have aprons. Yeah, the snacks are overpriced and the same brand of dehydrated treats is down the road for half the price at Sunflower, but I sure do love having a place to wash my dog. She can get pretty stinky, but of course she wouldn't go in the car after rolling in an inside-out toad, and a pre-wash is needed at home for those instances... But she is so sofffffft! I don't know what is in that shampoo, but my dogs fur feels like a cloud! I think getting the bath half price with Chinook Book make me feel even better about the trip (: $6 for supply and water use.
