Warning to all Westie owners. My Westie came back lookin like a poodle, cockapoo mix. No skirt, round butt and his face was nothing close to a Westie. I called and verified they knew how to do a Westie and they even have a picture of a Westie on the wall. I pointed at that and said just like this. I asked for nail trim and waste areas clean up. This place is amazing! I wish I found it sooner, I would give 10 stars if I could, Shelby is a doll! My dog is scared to death of the groomer and Shelby is patient and so understanding. I feel comfortable dropping my dog off knowing she's in good hands. I've had a lot of botched haircuts for my dog at other places but here she always comes out looking great! I bring my dogs in for nail clipping, which everyone knows dogs hate. It's finished within minutes, and if another employee's help is needed, they will jump in and get it done. Love this place. Once or twice, I've used self-service bathing. If the dog doesn't cooperate getting up to the tub, someone there will lift them. read more

We used the self serve tubs for our two airedales. It was their first time outside of our home bathtub. Was better than expected for a high traffic dog business with blowing dog hair and potentially wet floors to track around. Someone dried the floor often and cleaned the tubs between dogs. Everything we needed for $10 a dog, took us 45minutes for them both. Friendly staff. We had a great experience. We will for sure only be bathing our dogs here from now on. read more

Best self washing stations around. They are fully tiled and raised so it contains all the water and you never have to bend down. The shampoos conditioners and grooming tools are always stocked and very helpful. My pup literally loves his bath here. This place has all of Longmont over a barrel because it's so hard to find a groomer. I will never be back. They hurt my dog so badly. Two of her paws were bleeding like crazy when we got home from nicks between the toes, not the nails. I called them to ask what happened and they said that just happens sometimes and to put flour on it. No! We've had this dog groomed every 6 weeks and this has never happened. Her face is covered in razor burn as well as her neck. It's painful to look at and I'm just so sad for my pup. There's even a nick in the skin near the eye which is very alarming. They over shaved her face and neck obviously and did not follow the previous hairline which was much less severe. My poor dog. When I picked her up she did not act normal. Usually she jumps around and barks when I pick her up from places but she was down. In the car she was so quiet and subdued I wondered if they had given a sedative. Once I saw all the razor burns on her I realized she was just traumatized there. read more

I had mixed results with my Golden Doodle's grooms in the past, depending on the groomer on any particular visit. The last visit, however, was horrible in every way. My dog is large and usually takes more than 2 hours to finish but on this day I got a call after only an hour. On pickup, of course he was all fluffed up so he looked okay but the next day I realized what a horrible job had been done. Areas of his coat were of varying lengths, his face had been horribly chopped, and one paw had not been clipped at all. I called and spoke with a short-tempered young woman, who I then learned was the manager, who was totally rude and dismissive, denying that anything other than a great job was done. Unfortunately, this made me more angry and I became the same back, at which point she did offer to "redo" the groom. We've taken our dog here for the DIY bath services for over a year. We love the convenience of the differing height tubs, as well as having all the shampoos, towels and other supplies on hand. Plus, they clean up the tubs and deal with clogs, laundry, etc. All for $10. Definitely a good deal. And the $5 nail trims are a great bonus. Blue is my 3rd Labrador Retriever that I have brought for grooming here. It sounds too good to be true but my dogs came back with a shiny coat that lasted for weeks. I love this place! I usually let my 55lb Goldendoodle go too long between haircuts so it's a challenge when it's time for that dreaded haircut that he gets soooo... dramatic about. Style wise he's always comes out feeling and looking like he is ready for the Westminster Dog Show! Price wise it's in the neighborhood of $45 plus tax and tip. The other thing I love about P2G are the multi-bay self serve dog wash tubs. Each one has all the implements of destruction to get that special stink off your pooch when they find an old cow pie or decaying "what the heck is that?" critter along the trail. The self serve has it all and it's a one stop dog wash that gives your BFF that new dog smell all over again. This place deserves 5 stars, I gave it 4 because you need to call ahead 4 to 5 weeks if you want your best friend to see a groomer. This place is fantastic! A little tough to find- just next to Hobby Lobby if you get a little confused like we did! We took our kids here today for the DIY service. They have everything you need to do a really great wash, condition, blowout and brush, and even really well-maintained scissors and leave in conditioner so we could do a little early winter update for our poodle (she cannot handle getting her hair cut hardly at all in the winter). I love that the tubs are large and the height is perfect to work on your dog. They actually use real tubs which is pretty cool. They can be a little busy on Sundays because they are the only spot in town open but their customer service was great in letting us know about wait and giving the kids cookies while we waited (not like they were eager to get in). The prices are good too ($10 per dog) and they didn't even have a tip line. I'm looking forward to going back for a full groom (though my poodle probably isn't...). Brought my dog here again after several years because we moved out of town, the place is literally disgusting, hair everywhere, spots of blood or red stuff all over the floor, tubs not cleaned at all, grout riddled with pink gunk, simply disgusting, looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. When I walked in wasn't greeted, young people working there seemed bothered by having to "deal" with a walk in. Super annoying.. will stick with washing my baby at home in a clean tub. read more

I go regularly to Paws to Groom and have for 10 years. I have 2 Goldens. They are or were both field dogs and show dogs. So they get really dirty and need a lot of clean up sometimes as often as once a week. I use the self wash. We always feel welcome and the whole atmosphere is so positive that having a bath is always fun. Recently they have added an extra perk: a high quality grooming table with different heights and an adjustable arm. I can move my dog from tub to table. Being able to move all the way around my dog makes it so much easier to dry and groom him. All for $10. I love this place. read more

This is the place to go for your furry friend! They groom cats as well as dogs. The staff is very good with the animals and work on tons of poodle mixes, Old English, little dogs, big dogs and every size in between! The dogs look amazing when they leave and the staff discuss what their human wants ahead of time. As for the one negative review I saw by Essie S., it seems pretty clear to me that he and his wife probably were not able to adequately take care of their puppy's coat and that the matting was severe when they took the dog in to be groomed. To want someone to spend hours rectifying that situation and not be compensated sounds ridiculous to me. Their poor dog will have to suffer if they can't learn how to upkeep his coat with the proper tools. As far as the self wash, this is the eat place to go! I have several dogs and I foster for the Longmont Humane Society, so I do a lot of dog grooming myself. They only charge $10 and supply everything you need. If you don't like trimming your dog's nails, they will do it for only $5. There are lots of quality grooming tools, treats, toys, crates, clothes and gear available for purchase as well. They have showers as well as tubs, which is what I need for my huge dog. I've only had to wait once, and I'm usually there on the weekend. Paws 2 Groom - my Pom comes out looking more beautiful! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Longmont, Colorado

We have an Old English Sheepdog (OES) puppy and wanted to find a groomer that would do a good job with his first time getting shaved for the summer. We called Paws 2 Groom in early spring, and they said that they had groomed lots of OESs before and would guarantee that the whole visit would cost less than $55 (since he was under a year old, they said the cost would most likely be $45, but could go up to $55 if they had to remove a lot of mats). Unfortunately, they were booked for 2 months, but they convinced us it would be worth the wait. We arrived at noon on the scheduled day, and they said that they could either shave him down to less than ¼ inch (which can result in sunburns for dogs like OESs that normally have long coats), or shave him to an inch or so, which would involve some additional grooming beforehand. They then said that they would charge $30 per half hour for de-matting on top of the $45 fee originally mentioned, and that it might take them up to several hours to de-mat him depending on how many mats he had. They had never mentioned that fee before, so Heather eventually offered not to charge us for any time spent de-matting him above and beyond what we'd originally agreed upon. She also explicitly promised to give us a call if he started to seem stressed or unhappy at any point. Just after 3:00, one of the staff called my wife, said "your dog's ready," and abruptly hung up. When we arrived, they said that they had washed and brushed him, but thought he was too stressed to proceed any further. Shelly (presumably the owner) showed us a pile of hair they'd removed from him, lectured us about how we--in her opinion--weren't taking care of him, and condescendingly proceeded to explain to us how brushes worked (for reference, we brush him multiple times a week, but had been having difficulty getting all the mats out since he'd just started losing a bunch of his 6-8" long puppy fur a week or so prior). Since they hadn't done the full grooming, I was surprised when Shelly demanded $45, and shocked when she said that she should really be charging $97 since they worked on him for over four hours. Since we'd dropped him off at noon, I pointed out that he hadn't even been physically in the store for that long, and asked why I should pay the full price we'd originally agreed on when they didn't provide the full service. She grudgingly agreed to take $5 off, so I paid $40 and left. When I got back to the car, my wife and I noticed that our puppy had random shave marks along his back going to within 1/2 an inch of his skin, his belly and armpits had been shaved almost down to the skin, some (not all) of his paws had been shaved, he had nicks in his armpits that had just stopped bleeding, and his entire undercoat had been removed. Unlike other dogs, OESs are supposed to retain their undercoat all year long, and while it should be thinned occasionally to remove dead hair, our understanding is that it is never supposed to be removed entirely because there's a chance it may not grow back. The fact that they removed his undercoat would also explain the mass of hair they showed us, which was way more than what would reasonably be expected from his mats alone. Since he's a puppy, we're hopeful that he'll recover fully, but there's no way to know for sure. We had asked repeatedly if they knew how to groom OESs and they assured us that they knew the proper grooming care for this breed. Normally happy and relaxed (even in stressful situations), our puppy refused to even look at either of us and just slunk down into the back seat of our car as far as he could go despite our attempts to gently calm and reassure him. We went back to the store again and demanded an explanation for his condition along with a refund of our money. Shelly claimed that they hadn't shaved or cut him at all, mentioned that they shouldn't give us our money back because she has to pay her staff (she mentioned their hourly rate, which seemed especially unprofessional), and told us that our dog was fine and that "the hair will grow back" (despite having just said repeatedly that they hadn't cut any of his hair in any way). She also mentioned that Heather had wanted to call us earlier when our puppy first started to seem upset, but that she had forbid it and proceeded with the grooming anyway--despite our explicit wishes--because she wanted to try to get everything done. Finally, she accused us of "holding her hostage," said that we were trying to get something for nothing, and called my wife a "spoiled little brat." Neither my wife nor I have ever been so insulted or treated so unprofessionally. We eventually got a full refund after listening to a litany of insults from Shelly, and we will never be back. At this point, we're waiting to see whether our puppy's undercoat comes back (fortunately, it sounds like it probably will eventually), and are looking for another groomer who can treat our puppy with the care and expertise he deserves. read more

I have only been to this location twice, however, both times, I saw and heard disturbing interactions between employees and the handling of pets. The manager is terribly rude to customers and they are understaffed and stressed out. Today I saw the manager grab the snout of a dog and scold it. When I added new new shepherd/heeler mix puppy, they even gave me a discount because he's not full size yet! The groomers know us by sight, and really treat the dogs well.
