Facilities are clean, fun and controlled. Staff are welcoming, friendly and obviously love our dogs. Boarding prices are reasonable especially when considering the perks you get like a daily report card and photo. Highly recommend read more

The staff are nice. But Kyle, the general manager is unprofessional and untrustworthy. My puppy got hurt and of course, conveniently their cameras were not working at the time. My dog has a special need, and I stated that from the beginning. Kyle decided 30 days later shortly after she got hurt that they couldn't accommodate to her. Bowhaus did start an open claim with their insurance company. Kyle received the orthopedic vet exam report and he had the audacity to tell me there was nothing wrong with my dog per his own observation. It was very dismissive and he basically disregarded the exam/ x-rays that was performed by one of Colorados top vet orthopedic hospital. Kyle is not a vet or anything close to it he openly admits. I sent him a video of her limping then he stops emailing me or return my calls. Their insurance company is a joke. Out of nowhere the claim adjuster started raising her voice, cutting me off and then hung up on me. I called two different times requesting to speak to Kyle after speaking to the insurance agent. Even stating to his staff to give him a memo of the urgency of the reason of why he needs to call or I would report Bowhaus Boulder to CDA for PACFA violations of Duty of care. Of course, ultimately Kyle never got back to me. read more

This place was amazing! Great price, hours, staff was so friendly and kind, and I could tell my dog (who is normally skittish) was in good hands by the way he reacted to the staff before and after daycare. Also, they have cameras set up so you can see your dog play all day and put your worries to rest! They will then give you a report card, notes, and tons of free coupons at the end of the day. STAY AWAY! DO NOT GO HERE! My husband wrote this review for google and I'm posting here. We took our 6 month old, Mini Golden Doodle puppy up for a trial day here. We were told to bring him between 0630-0700 so that he could be there prior to the other dogs and be able to acclimate to the space without distractions. Upon arrival, we were asked to remove his harness AND his collar so that they didn't get in the way while the dogs played. We thought this was a bit odd, but we complied. While we were there, I had noticed but didn't take much thought to it - one of the employees had a choker-style lead in their hands. I didn't ask at the time, but I should have asked how these were used and why. We NEVER put our dog leash around the collar of our puppy, as its proven that this can cause harm. The leash only goes on the harness. More on this later. Before leaving, we asked to see the space he would be playing in. They took us upstairs to "Tiny Town". The space seemed large when he was the only one in there, but later as we were watching the webcams, we'd see that this place seemed way too small for the amount of dogs they had in there. After we left, I checked the webcam, only to see him by himself, barking at the gate because he was scared & lonely. There was no one giving him attention (which you would expect if it was his first day). I watched the webcam all morning on my monitor while doing work, and I saw a few things that disturbed me, enough that we decided to go pick him up immediately. 1st - from 0645 when we dropped him off, until about 0745, he was by himself. Barking at the gate, with not a single person playing with him. He had no toys, no water, and in his mind, I am sure he felt abandoned. 2nd - After more and more dogs arrived, I noticed very little staff interaction with the dogs, except for the occasional employee walking around to take pictures of the dogs to post on their website, to make it look like everyone is having a good time. Eventually he started to warm up and be interested in the other dogs. His tail was up, and he seemed happy. After maybe 2 hours in the "Tiny Town" the dogs were brought outside to the yard to play. Everything here seemed OK, aside from the number of dogs to staff ratio. 3rd - there were OVER 30 dogs in "Tiny Town" with never more than 2 staff in the room. Typically, it was one staff member to those 30 dogs, and again, I saw no interaction between the staff and the dogs. With that many dogs in the room, the space that seemed large when we got there, shrunk. Way too many dogs for the size space & the amount of staff that they had. 4th & last - the reason that we immediately went to rescue our dog - while watching the webcam feed, I saw our dog, being dragged across the floor, by HIS NECK, with a choke collar to bring him to the kennel room. This was the last straw. We hopped in the car and went to go pick him up. Upon arriving, we confronted the staff about what we saw. No denials, no apologies. We said we are taking him home right now. The staff said that he would not come out of the kennel and asked if we could go up with her to get our puppy out of the kennel. The "Kennel", if you want to call it that, was absolutely abhorrent. It was a small room, with 30+ small plastic crates, all filled, and EVERY SINGLE DOG was barking & yelping - It's no wonder they typically don't allow customers to go in this room. This is supposed to be their "REST" area. How in the heck can a dog rest if they're in a room filled with other dogs barking their brains out? Immediately after opening the crate door, our puppy BOLTED to us, and you could see the fear in him. He wanted out of their immediately. This whole experience was extremely traumatic for not only us, but for him. We will never be back to this place again and strongly recommend that you don't go there. These people don't seem to be "dog" people, just running a business. read more

My pup loves Bowhaus, and I am a fan, too. The hours are great and my dog has a wonderful time. I love that he is exhausted by the end of the day. More importantly, he is getting excellent socialization and knows how to interact with all different types and sizes of dogs. This is vital when you want your dog to be your companion in multiple environments. The dogs are separated by size. My pup started in Tiny Town, with the little dogs, and quickly moved to the main area with the bigger dogs. The staff is great at seeing where the dog will fit best. There is a live feed you can access to see the play yard. This was quite important to me those first times I left my dog; I needed reassurance he was doing okay. I have not taken advantage of the treats and other options available, but Bowhaus seems to have it all figured out. read more

We brought her puppy here recently for a trial and she had the time of her life. I loved the procedure they have for new dogs joining daycare to get them acclimated. Our puppy was the first one to arrive to get all the sniffs and played all day with the other dogs. I enjoy that they have a live feed so you can see what your pet is up to during the day and after they send you a report card with photos on how your pup behaved and got along with other dogs. I felt very happy leaving my pup here and would do so again in the future. read more

We loved our groomer. A young sweet and patient man. He was a good and positive communicator with me. Our pet, who had a very negative first experience at Woof Gang in Boulder, came out happy and relaxed at Bowhaus. Best place to take your dog for daycare/boarding! The staff at Bowhaus Boulder is incredibly professional and patient with my anxious dog Buster. They take time to make him feel comfortable every visit (special shout-out to Harry!) and are incredibly organized with his food, bedding and medication. Added plus - they have webcams where you can check on your dog throughout the day and daily report cards so you know how they did! Very trustworthy business and can't recommend enough. read more

Overall a huge fan of Bowhaus. Much better than other, ahem, not-to-be-named animal hospitals in the area for both daycare and boarding. They make you do a trial day with your dogs at a reduced rate, which makes me feel safer knowing they don't just accept anyone and genuinely care if the dogs get along well. You can watch your dogs on the dog cams any time of the day, which also gives me some peace of mind. What I liked about Bowhaus is that they always have at least two employees walking around the Big Dog play yard, stirring up the dogs and keeping them distracted. Our former doggy daycare place was a sad gravel yard and had an indifferent vet tech who would just sit and watch the dogs in a chair. From volunteering for years at the Humane Society, I can say that walking around and through the mass of dogs is much better practice to help ensure a fight doesn't break out and the pack stays happy. I took a star off because it's very out of the way, all the way in Gunbarrel. Luckily parking is never an issue. Our puppy also came home and immediately threw up after being boarded, likely due to nerves, which I would have liked to know about in advance. Other than that it's been a good experience here and they know our dogs by name. read more

Bowhaus has been a great place for Percy since he was booted from two other day care facilities. They were understaffed and overcrowded with dogs. At Bowhause the staff were able to help Percy learn his social manners very quickly. He was a rambunctious West Highland Terrier puppy. He's now an 8 year old adult and has never been boarded anywhere else. The staff know and love him and he knows and loves them. Recently I took him for a stay for the first time in well over a year. I wondered how he'd feel about it after so long. Well, he was off, bounding the stairs up to Tiny Town before I could even say "good-bye". Guess that says it all. read more

Okay dog daycare. Some pros: friendly staff; high quality webcams; it looks like there is ample play space for the dogs; reasonable pricing. Some cons: I have yet to see my dog on the webcams, it almost looks like they are locking him up and he doesn't seem tired at the end of a 9 hour day, which is not the case for other daycares. They have a 3pm lockup policy where all dogs are locked up at 3pm until pickup. I would think that would be primetime for play, the reason I'm taking my dog there is so that they are tired out from play when I pick them up. I haven't seen any non-small dogs allowed to use the outdoor yard on the webcams. Might be worth a shot, be sure to use the webcams. read more

This is a follow up to my previous review from over a year ago. Since then, Aaron (previous manager) and I have created Gingr, the system that sends you those awesome pictures while you're away (see everyone else's reviews). As a business owner in the pet care industry I interact with hundreds of dog kennels, daycares, groomers and trainers every day. I happen to live across the street from Bowhaus Boulder. My dogs have been going to Bowhaus for nearly 2 years and both are shy with people and dogs. They connect extremely well with the staff (you know they're pals when the dogs get excited running into a staff member at Tod's) and have even made a couple 4-legged pals along the way. Dan, Katie and the whole team do an amazing job at taking care of pets time and time again. I'm always confident that they'll be happy, healthy and more calm when I pick them up than when I dropped them off. read more

I would not recommend bringing your dog here. They repeatedly scruffed my dog and drug him across the floor when he was clearly very scared. They did this on multiple occasions when I was right there, I asked them not to do that and they said they did not have another option, how about treats? or a leash? anything but dragging my dog across a floor by the neck. They also pinned my dog aka 'alpha rolled' him MULTIPLE times while I was watching on camera, then later complained that he wasn't coming to them, of course, he wasn't because they made him terrified of them, he started becoming anxious and jumpy at home. No other daycare facility has EVER had any issues with my dog but this one couldn't handle that he was running around (pretty sure that's what dogs do normally?) so they would pin him for it, yet his other daycare in Denver never had any issues with this and I also do not have this issue with him doing it at the dog park. Overall, not a good place, and honestly I would say they neglected my dog in several different ways. read more

I took my incredibly shy 2 year old Chihuahua here three times last week because we were showing our house. Here are a few bullet points about the experience: 1. I was initially concerned that small dogs were able to come and go into the main area with the large dogs, but Ralphie ventured out there a few times after a little while and I feel like there is enough supervision that I wasn't too worried about it. 2. Webcams. I loved checking in on the webcams throughout the day - terrible for my productivity at work but wonderful for my peace of mind. I do wish they had one trained on the small dog area, though. I could only actually see Ralphie when he walked up to the gate or on those rare occasions that he ventured out into the main play area. 3. End of day report cards....WITH PICTURES! Loved it. Overall I think the socialization was really great for my little buddy and all of the employees I encountered seemed to genuinely love dogs. read more

I do not recommend this business.The first Dog Grooming was good. The second Dog Grooming was awful For both of my dogs. My Westy had cuts all over because they trimmed him too close. My golden doodle came out shaggy and misshapen. I decided to try one more time and booked for a full grooming. The receptionist wrote it down as an appointment for a wash only. We rescheduled. One hour before the appointment, they called and asked me to reschedule.as they'd overbooked their groomer. Save yourself the aggravation. Book elsewhere. read more

My chi/pug mix Daisy has attended a few day cares in the area. I have nothing bad to say about any of them so far, but Bowhaus did impress me. Upon arrival, the owner spent time getting to know Daisy and me and he made sure that both of us were as comfortable as possible about trying out a new place. Everyone who works there is really friendly and shows real interest in me and my dog. The facility is nice and open, inside and out, so the dogs are free to socialize with whomever. My little one likes to play with the big dogs, so this works better than some of the more segregated and compartmentalized day cares. There is an area for small dogs to get away from the big dogs if they need to, but from my observations it looks like everyone gets along really well. The staff does a great job. Overall I really appreciate the personal and pleasant experience of working with this local business. Will definitely continue to drop Daisy off for playtime and will check out the Erie location as well. read more

No way. everyone.....Do better. I had a very unpleasant time. Interacting with dry, ill-mannered office staff, rude dog owners, and an empty facility! This place went SO cheap on their interior, the dogs are literally sitting on flat concrete slab all day long. But they happen to charge SLIGHTLY less than competitor (camp wow wow), to draw in customers. The rooms are empty, we are paying for overhead and some manager to go on fancy vacations each year) both my dogs came out FULL of urine (after a full day), which prompts the question: if the outside space is currently closed, where are you bringing the dogs to relieve themselves? Because they are not playing outside....I would think about what you're getting, for the money you're being asked to pay, before committing here. read more

We sent our dog here for trial days , and were pretty disappointed in the result. Apparently they cannot handle active dogs or let dogs play ; and prefer to have dogs laying down and trotting around all day. Looking at the webcams / they only had one person for 20-30 dogs. This is very disappointing bc if we wanted our dog to just be in the kennel all day we would crate at home . Running, playing , and exercise is exactly why people send their dogs to daycare , and it's unfortunate that this place doesn't let that happen here . Bowhaus Boulder is a terrific place to board you dog. My dog gets anxious with separation anxiety at every place I have tried over the last 6 years however our family can't always have our pup with us when we go out of town so we had to find the best place possible. Bowhaus staff is very attentive to her needs and reports on any change of behavior as well as taking excellent care of her. On a trip a couple years ago, staff alerted us when she became distressed and took her to the vet. It turns out that she had a large bladder stone that had been developing for months and required emergency surgery. Their attentiveness and action allowed us to race home and get her what she needed to survive. They basically saved my dog's life. More recently, the pandemic situation has really hammered service oriented places with everything from restaurants to dog borders yet in spite of that, they continue to be friendly, treat my dog well, and pay attention to her every need. This place is AWESOME. Dogs are well cared for by staff who clearly loves animals. I love being able to check out the webcam during the day to see how my pooch is doing. One of the coolest features is a daily email with status updates on how she's eating and what her playing habits were. Those emails include pictures- which are always fun to see while you're away. Dan (owner) is a great guy running a great business. I hate leaving my dog, but it's so nice having such a great place to take her when I'm away. She howls in the car when we are pulling into the parking lot and doesn't even take the time to say "bye" because she's so excited to get back to the other dogs. 5 stars easy- plus 5 wags from my girl Wrigley. read more

So disappointed! We tried Bowhaus for grooming our Westie mix because it's right in our neighborhood. Instead of following our clear and specific request to only give her face and paws a clean up trim because "we like her terrier scruff," she came back with her entire body cut short and her hair on the top of her head left long and tied up with a pink bow - ugh! Dropped off my 2 month old pup for the doggy daycare and i could not be happier with my experience. Was a little nervous seeing as it was my first dog and it's like leaving your kid at school. The girls at Bowhaus took great care of my pup. They even have webcams available so you can keep an eye on your dog while you're away. At the end of the day they sent me a report card and photos of my dog during his stay. I would definitely recommend Bowhaus boulder. Bowhaus is the absolute best!! I was so sad when I got a new job and no longer was able to take my dog Finn here who had been going here since he was 9 months old. I have been to many other daycares in Denver and now with my move back to Michigan I can say that Bowhaus is unlike any other! They truly understand dogs and know how to handle them on an individual basis.
