I loved my groomer then she moved she trained my new groomer she was also great. Then this last appointment was at 9 am on a wed. The shop called me at 7pm the night before. They told me That they let the groomer go. No explanation nothing. They told me they had a place I could take my pups (3) to. I called the place they were so rude. I will not go there. Then I found out that they have been targeting my groomer,making things hard on her. The manger didn't like her. so they dont have a groomer now.if they treat people this way why would I take my pups to them again. I will either do it my self or find someone else. If they treat their groomers bad how do they treat your pups? read more

Not a well managed facility.. too much going on for the personal they have to run the kennel. I use to own a boarding and I know what work it takes . I didn't yet have a place to board my puppy when a family tragedy struck, and I needed to get out of town pretty quickly. I contacted Bowhaus and not only did they respond extremely fast but with their accommodating nature and flexibility, I was able to do a trial day, board my puppy, and get out of town within 48 hours. The team at Bowhaus was absolutely amazing - in my haste to leave town, I neglected to provide enough food for my puppy and they not only kindly called me to tell me, but they went out and purchased the puppy food that I requested. Boarding my puppy at Bowhaus was absolutely the right decision and my puppy had an absolute blast. I was able to focus on my family's tragedy knowing that my dog was well cared for. I can't say enough great things about this place. The staff is always so friendly, caring, and polite. When I drop my dog off in the morning, I know he's safe and going to be taken care of really well! They have some of the best rates for doggy daycare and longer term overnight stays. There is also a LOT of room for the dogs to play, both inside and outside. There is always a supervisor out with the dogs, keeping an eye on your four legged friends. The outside play area is especially cool b/c they've got structures for the dogs to ramble over, a covered but open shed to provide shade and kiddy pools for the water-lovers. During bad weather, the dogs have a huge hanger with rubber floors to play in. The best part for the dog owners is that there are web cams that you can access on-line to take a peek at your pet. I give Bowhaus a zero. I had an appointment with Tanya, yesterday for the grooming. I brought the boys in with mats on their chins as Tanya knew this, we previously talked about it prior to the appointment. We had been away for a month and had no grooming done. Our mistake.... She took them and said she would cut out the knots and they would be short. She called within the hour and abruptly said, come and pick them up! I asked why and she said she could not work with me. She said she would have to shave them to the skin. She did no haircut, just brushed out the top-knot on one boy. I paid $50 and they accepted the payment with no hesitation. Remember there were NO haircuts, NO bath, or grooming. I immediately drove to Boulder's "Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming" to Kate. She was my previous groomer. I didn't return because she had moved to a new location, too far to drive. Kate looked them over thoroughly and said there was no problem cutting them. They only needed to be cut down to an inch. The mats were new, they came out easily after the cut. It was NOT necessary to shave them to the skin. I am a hairstylist of 40 years, I knew this too, The kicker to all of this is that I was told that Tanya was well-knowledged and the BEST in Shih-Tzu's haircuts, WOW, that was a flat-out lie! I found out with Tanya's own words that she didn't cut long hair or cut Shih-Tzu's. This is seriously messed up for a groomer. Worse than that is that the manager said, she was the best for the grooming! Please be aware that you will NOT get what you ask for. They will set you up with whoever is available, not who would be the best fit for your dog, especially long-haired breeds. I highly recommend that you give "Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming", in Boulder, a call if you are struggling for a groomer. They have a 5-star rating and have great groomers for all long hair breeds, specific to the breed. You will be delightfully surprised! They truly are professional groomers, which are hard to find. To state Bowhaus Erie has exceeded expectations is an understatement! A quick background... Since moving to Denver 3 years ago, we have been loyal to City Bark LODO as our rambunctious Roscoe can be a handful - he is a stereotypical stubborn Bloodhound that demands lots of love and exercise. Having been disappointed with other boarding facilities prior to finding City Bark LODO, we justified the 40 minute drive to drop off and pick up as well as the expensive $51 per day boarding rate. When a last minute trip popped up last month, City Bark LODO was completely full, which we now see as a blessing in disguise as it lead us to Bowhaus Erie! Having boarded Roscoe twice in the last month for a total of twelve days, we can firmly attest that Bowhaus Erie provides both the pet and owner an amazing experience. Bowhaus Erie's interaction is above and beyond any facility we have ever used. Having the ability to watch Roscoe on the webcam half the world away gave us peace of mind that he was having fun and receiving lots of attention. We looked forward to seeing the photos staff posted throughout the day and always got a kick out of his personality showing through. The cherry on top is his personalized report card each night, which details his demeanor, notes, and a feeding report. I love bowhaus! Bentley is so excited when we get there and you can tell he just has had fun and he is so tired from playing all day. We have boarded our pup here quite a few times and they have always done a great job. This last time, however, they went above and beyond for my pup. Our doodle had been under stress from a relocation just prior to boarding him and manifested symptoms there. They were keen enough to realize he needed to see our vet and went above and beyond to accommodate him while I was out of town. While this rarely happens to most clients, I am so grateful for their initiative and it is a reassuring feeling to know that all of our pups are being well cared for. Our dog Bailey loves going to Bowhaus for weekends or doggie daycare and we love taking her there. Bailey uses a lot of energy playing and we can see her enjoy it online since they stream video of the play area on the website. Because of Bowhaus, I don't have to worry about my dog when I am away. They have multiple play-yards but refuse to separate out the dogs based upon something as simple as size or, better yet, personality. Their one-size-fits-all approach is not helpful for the majority of dogs. They do not understand the nuances and intricacies of different breeds. This is a great place if you have a lazy mix-breed doodle-type dog. Any dog that is in the working class, sporting class, terrier class, or hound class, PLEASE do not send your animal here. This is one of the best doggie daycares and kennels around. We have two wild and crazy sheepdogs and they love it. We love it for the space they have a couple acres for your pooches to run around, plenty of pools, sprinklers and plenty of indoor space for too hot days or too cold days. We took our dog for a trial day and won't go back. There were 70+ dogs in the yard and I could tell from the webcam that my dog was not happy. Staff walk around spraying dogs with water, and I never saw any of them petting or playing with the dogs, just breaking up squirmishes. I was sent a photo of my dog, and she was foaming at the mouth, something that only happens when she is super stressed out and over stimulated. When she got home, she drank an entire bowl of water in about two minutes, so she clearly was dehydrated, too. I have communicated this to Bow Haus, and they responded professionally, however, this place is far too crowded and hectic for my dog. I am going someplace where I can be assured my dog gets loving attention, not just part of the pack. read more

We have a 3 year old whippet who we've taken to daycare regularly since she was 6 months old. Last year when we moved to Colorado we began our search for a new daycare provider. After being very disappointed with another doggie daycare center, we came to Bowhaus - Erie and noticed a night and day difference. At the first daycare our dog would need to be dragged back and/or tricked to go with staff to the play area -- among other issues like bad communication and high staff turnover. Our first visit to Bowhaus our dog literally ran to the play area, unleashed, by herself. Such a great feeling for a dog owner! The daily reports and photos are amazing and so helpful to know how she was adapting to a new place (i.e. the first day she wouldn't stop zoomying and needed some extra human time to calm down and more recently the report shared how she made a new friend!). We're currently in the midst of a major home remodel so have been needing to make multiple last minute reservations, which is a breeze through their online portal. The only downside is the inconvenient location as we live in Louisville and work in Boulder/Denver, but it's worth the drive knowing our furbaby is in the best of care. read more

My dog does better at this kennel than at others we've left her at. I love being able to check on her via the webcam. She generally just sits to the side and watches all the action. She seems rested when I return to town to pick her up. I once left her at a different kennel in Boulder, where the dogs constantly bark, and she actually had circles under her eyes from not sleeping for days. I'd never seen that in a dog before. HOWEVER, like another reviewer I have had too much of my dog's epilepsy medicine returned to me after her stay at Bowhaus. I always count out exactly what she will need for her stay at the kennel, and I can tell that she regularly gets under-dosed. I wish I could put her meds into a daily pill counter, but Colorado law says you must provide the meds in their original containers, which I think leads to the under-dosing because her pills must be split and given in different doses night and day. Yet we keep returning to Bowhaus because our dog seems to do much better there overall than anywhere else we have left her. I think they care for the animals and try to look out for them. read more

Bowhaus is an truly amazing place to take your dog. The facility, report card updates, and live webcams are great, but the staff is what make this place awesome. We never like leaving our dog when we go on vacation, but knowing that he's safe and taken care of gives us some real piece of mind while we're away. Our dog had some issues (unrelated to his experience at Bowhaus) that needed the attention of our vet during one of his stays. My wife and I were in California and couldn't be there. The staff kept great communication with us, got him to the vet, and safely back at Bowhaus until I was able to pick him up the following day. This has made us lifelong customers and our dog Barley will be rushing into their doors with excitement for many years to come. We boarded our 17 month old goldendoodle for 2 weeks given our 2 week vacation required travel via airline. It was the first we've had to board him and were of course uneasy. After seeing Bowhaus and its staff in action, we were very impressed! They run a great operation where your dog will get the care they need. Their CAMs and report card services really eliminate any stress with boarding your dog when out of town. This is a great place to take your dog for the day or week's stay. We have taken our dog a number of times, and he loves going. For long stays, he gets to play all day with the other dogs, with people around supervising at all times. Dan and the crew love dogs and it shows. They are always sad to see our dog go home. We love Bowhaus and all the great people there! Our little Westie has been a doggie daycare regular since he was six months old (almost five years!) and happily spends his days playing with his dog and human friends alike. While the yard allows for the smaller dogs to stay clear of the larger dogs if they choose, he loves to hang with the big dogs. He gets lots of love and attention from the staff, and they've become part of his family too! The yard and the indoor space are both huge and well-maintained - and the webcam allows us to check in on the activity, rain or shine. Bowhaus Boulder is definitely not up to the standard of other dog daycares. First of all the play area is just a fenced in parking lot. Also, they have some very sad looking play structures in the play area and not enough of them. The staff is inattentive and they look unprofessional. Be advised, they will discipline your dog in not the nicest manner. The staff members aren't certified trainers. The cages your dog will be boarded in are small. If you have a pair of dogs that want to be together, they can't in these small cages. Overall rethink this place. I certainly won't be bringing my dog here read more

A whole lot of chaos. All dogs big and small run around together in a giant pack all day. I boarded my dog there and although it's great that they don't charge for medication, they also don't give it as prescribed. When I returned they gave me back twice the medication that they should have. They also seem to have no clue on how your dog does while you are gone. I was asked if my dog has trouble seeing because she seemed to stumble around. At the time I did not realize they had not given her arthritis medication as prescribed, which would explain the stumbling. I was also told that she did not have any accidents only to find that her bed was a mess. I also asked that she has breaks from play time during the day only to see on the web cam that she was actually out and about all day. No wonder her legs hurt. No structure and no clue about what is going on with your pet. I don't even know if she ate while she was there. I will not be returning. This place is only suited for young energetic dogs, not old dogs who need special care. read more

Most amazing people! My dog is no longer with us and addition to missing him greatly, I miss the pleasure of taking him to Bowhaus. Bart never liked other dogs so I was a bit nervous at first. He was hesitant the first couple times but then suddenly would pull me into the building every time. Robert is so wonderful and clearly loves all the dogs. He takes care of their individual needs so naturally. When we had a health emergency in the family, they told us to get them Bart right away and they took care of him until we were settled. I would look forward to taking Bart in because I knew he was going on a vacation just as we were. No question in my mind he was having fun and being just as loved as he would at home. He even started making friends with other dogs, this after never liking dogs before. I recommend them to everyone I know and strongly suggest people try them out, especially if they don't think their dog will be ok away from the family. my two dogs have stayed here a number of times, mostly for boarding. they have done a good job overall and it's nice that there is a good amount of space both inside and outside. the staff is easy going and makes things as easy as possible for the owners. i've visited a few of the daycare/boarding shops in the area and bowhaus was the best in the area from my view. read more
