My pet was safe and sheltered. The fact that I left 5 packaged food pouches for her for her 4 night stay and on day 3 she was out of food. How this happened, hhhmm nobody really knew. I have no idea if she went into day care as paid for. Seemed like everytime I looked at the camera she was in her kennel. I used this place before with another dog, and I think the quality and care has decreased significantly. Guess we will be looking for another place. read more

I boarded my dog at this place for a week during my honeymoon and when she was picked up, her harness and collar were both chewed through. They didn't bother to even tell me prior to pickup. They did not credit me for the damages. It cost me $60 to replace them. The staff pay special attention and understand the quirks of my dogs, and keep them happy and safe. Two Ponds is one of the few places that has indoor/outdoor cabins which can accommodate two medium size dogs to be boarded together. Checks all the boxes for our family. read more

We had an extremely poor experience when boarding our dog here when we first moved to the neighborhood. We tried them a few different times for boarding and there was always an issue that happened. I would not recommend this facility. I won't get into all of the issues here, but the main one similar to what someone else said below - we dropped off our dog on a Saturday around 11am and clearly communicated that we wouldn't be back until around 6:30pm to pick him up as we were going rafting for the day, and the girl at the front desk said OK. We came back to locked doors when we tried to pick him up with no way of getting to him or knowing if he was okay OR any way to get a hold of someone. We also left him with no food as we were never planning to board him. We were able to pick him up the next morning but the whole situation was very stressful. I understand they have their pickup hours posted on a piece of paper taped to a wall, but we were new to the daycare and were not used to somewhere that has NO pickup after 3pm or so on a Saturday. And the staff member confirmed a 6:30pm pickup was ok. There is no way we'd ever allow our pet back here, especially after one dog died last month due to an error on the facility's part. read more

Condescending, disregarding the client, apathetic and rude are descriptors for the "manager on duty". My 2 dogs have been coming to this locale for grooming every month. Every grooming appt is on a weekend and BOTH dogs go in together. This last appointment was scheduled 3 weeks prior AND I did include both pups. Upon arrival, the "on duty manager" told me that ONLY one dog was scheduled and they were already overbooked. By the way, I confirmed this appt for 2 .. 72 hours earlier. The "on duty manager" said I did not schedule both pups and it was a "miscommunication" even though she knew all prior appts were both pups get groomed together. NO empathy but a load full of condescending and finger pointing at me! Sound familiar? We are NEVER going back to this place. BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES!!!!! I've been boarding my dogs there for years. This year, they have added a "late fee" that changes depending on what time you pick your dogs up. I was told the late fee of $26.00 per dog started at 10, 11 and noon by 3 different people who work there. No where on the website or in any of the communications does it say this. I called and requested a manager and was told she would call right back, 4 days later I called again. I was told, "We try to tell people but maybe we didn't tell you and we are sorry, but there are no refunds." No matter what. BEWARE DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR ANIMALS! Our Rottweiler/Doberman (Rotterman) Rogue has been going to two ponds since she was 8-9 months old. We started doing this because both my wife and I work 5 days a week and we would have never had time to socialize her with other dogs on our own. Two ponds helped us with that. There is no better way to socialize an aggressive breed than to throw it into a group of 30-40 other dogs and let them learn what is okay and what is not. We also needed the relief of knowing that we were being good owners. There is nothing worse then coming home from work exhausted and your dog is all wound up and full of energy because you left it at home all day. When I'm tired from working all day, Rogue is tired from working all day too and that's thanks to the environment two ponds provides the animals. Rogue has now been a daily regular at Two Ponds for 4 years. She knows all of the people who work there are going to take good care of her and they call me even if her poop doesn't look normal. If they notice a limp they investigate because they have veterinarian ownership. They don't even charge me when I feel like they should for giving her a look over. If I have any concerns I tell them what's going on and they keep a really close eye on her with a full report when I come back for pick-up. They also provide other services such as nail clipping, departure baths, and they even cleaned her teeth one time. . Rogue gets her nails clipped and I try to do a departure bath for her 1 time a week because she likes to play hard and ends up coming home stinky without one. I highly recommend two ponds for anyone that wants there dog to learn social skills, and for working breeds that need to burn the energy. If you find your dog getting into trouble at home ask yourself if the dog would be behaving that way if it were exhausted after a long day of work. Probably wouldn't be happening! We have to look in the mirror. Two Ponds isn't just a place I take my dog because I don't want to deal with her energy. Two ponds is Rogue's workplace. Terrible experience with our pup. We had started to board here while my wife and I traveled for work. Everything started out fine but as time passed we noticed our dog become more aggressive. He is a boxer and that can be a breed thing but once we removed him from there permanently he recovered fine. There are many things that really upset me with this place and at the time we were giving them the benefit of doubt. First off if they start to put your dog in other areas for larger breeds, don't allow them to do this. It seems harmless enough but all it did was teach my dog that he is the smallest one in the group and caused him to become more aggressive. This was the kicker. We came to grab our pup from a day of boarding and checked him out as normal. Nothing mentioned about the day or any issues. We take him home and he is being a little off but nothing alarming. After about 10 min we got a knock on the door to find two police officers at our door telling us that our dog was involved in a biting incident and that they would need to see him and ensure he wasn't a risk. Our boy is a very friendly guy and they immediately saw he didn't pose a risk. They informed us that we would have to quarantine him for 30 days and he could not leave our house even for walks during this time. Luckily the Arvada police were very nice and understanding and we ensured them we would follow their direction to the letter. As soon as they left we reached out to Two Ponds to inquire about the incident. Again they never mentioned anything to us when we grabbed our pup for pick up. They didn't answer the phone so we just decided to go there in person. When we talked to the front desk girl she was unaware of an issue and had to grab a "manager". So it turned out that they had our dog in the big dog area and he ended up getting into a tussle with a larger dog. One of the very young and untrained employees then tried to break the dogs up and got bit by one of them but was unsure which one. Since they were unable to confirm which dog did it I guess they reported both dogs. The employee didn't sustain any injuries but again this girl looked to be about 16 years old and probably shouldn't have been put in charge of the large breed area. The girl did go and get her hand looked at which was what caused the police to get involved. I understand that things like this happen and would have been on the day care's side if they would have communicated what happened. But instead we had to find out from the Arvada police. This place is ram terribly and they hire young adults to watch your dogs. This kids don't know how to properly care for your dog and is probably their first job. I'm assuming the pay is bad dispute their high day care costs. However I don't see them changing anything because they are clearly busier than they can handle and I'm sure the owners are making great money. The facility is nice and it's good to be able to watch you dog play via the cameras. But that is all this place has going for them. Beware of boarding your loved pet here. They could care less. If looking for a good doggy day care, I would consider going to The Barking Lot. They do a great job and truly care for your dog. They also offer training and the owner is a really great lady that gives you great updates and advise if you need it. read more

I've been coming here for 3 years for solely grooming services for my Westie. Although the price still seems high, it's one of the most reasonable that I have found. They do require the Bordatella vaccine every 3 months or so but they offer it there for only about $15. I feel like the quality of the cut can vary somewhat, but overall they do a great job! I was especially pleased with my last visit. I was 30 minutes late for my appointment & they still fit him in with no problem & he looked fantastic at pick up! read more

I'm having the worst customer service experience with Two Ponds. My dog was attacked on two separate occasions, once in February and again in April. After the first time they said they would send a check to cover the vet bill. I called, emailed, and went to the front desk multiple times. Nobody ever followed up. In April my dog was attacked a second time, this time much worse than the first. Both times they called and told me the dogs were playing and he got a little cut, not a big deal. The second time he had a huge bite in his inner thigh with multiple puncture wounds. And another bite mark on his side they didn't even know about. They offered to take him to the vet, and I asked them to pay the vet directly since they never paid me back for the first time. I assumed all was taken care of until I got a call from the vet, not Two Ponds, a few hours after the attack telling me they hadn't paid. My dog was sitting in a kennel in pain cause they couldn't start until there was a payment. I paid so they could get started. Apparently, there was an issue with the card or some BS but nobody thought there was any urgency. I got a call from a manager afterwards and they apologized for the whole experience. They said they saw all the notes on my account for the first issue but it was missed. They got approval to send two checks to cover both visits. It's almost been 2 months and I only got the first check. They also gave me some free days, but we aren't going back. I'm not someone who writes reviews but I've tried calling, emailing, and going to Two Ponds. A manager is never available and all my calls or emails get no response read more

I think saying we are really upset would be an understatement. This is the second time we've dropped our dog off (we will call her Samantha) and she's come back home to us sick (vomiting, constant diarrhea, chills, and other symptoms). What makes it worse is when we picked her up the other day the technician gave us the excuse that they gave her a bath because she was "dirty." Come to find out, upon bringing her home she had been experiencing severe diarrhea - not only did they lie about the reason for giving her the bath, but I think they also did it to save face and pretend she had recently just gotten sick. The time previous when we dropped her off she experienced the same illness for a period of a week (where we had to put her on a chicken and rice diet like we're doing now). I started to notice the trends that related to other reviews, that being, we constantly sign our dog up for daycare in order to allow for some socialization time with other puppies. However, I constantly check the video software they use at least twice a day, and I've only ever spotted Samantha during 1 (1 of the 5 total sessions we should have had) of the sessions we paid for. I'm starting to realize and understand that these guys actually just crate dogs all day, causing severe anxiety, illness, and they will lie to pretend like it's just the stress from being at daycare (other facilities we have used we've never had issues like this, even during an extended stay at a pet hotel with PetSmart). I have the irking suspicion that this place gladly takes your money, crates your dog, and rarely gives you what you actually pay for. Worse yet, they send you home with a sick pup and don't give a crap--I'm really disappointed considering this is a vet owned business, but even if you look at the Indeed job review board employees (former and current) talk about the terrible state this place is in and how they are treated, and furthermore, how they treat the animals. We won't be bringing our loving pup back here again, it's just not worth the hassle. Luckily, we've used other doggie daycares and boarding options in the Arvada area that are much better. For the owner, I'd really like to see some accountability from you on how you treat your employees, and to ensure they are actually following-thru with paid for services. Kind of blows my mind you are still in business as a vet owner with this little care and love of animals. read more

I took my dog in to get a haircut and shampoo. When I say haircut it was more like a butchering. They had my dog there for over six hours and he came back with one of the worst haircuts he has ever had, when I questioned them and asked why his hair cut was so short they said because it was entangled which was a lie because he is a short hair dog that I comb at least twice a week. I believe that they had an incompetent groomer that cut his hair I didn't know what to do other than shave the hair off my dog. I will never ever go back nor recommend Two Ponds pet lodge. read more

This place is awful. They lie straight to your face. They told me that my dog was safe in her individual kennel recovering from an accident that happened that resulted in stitches. I looked at the cameras while on the phone with them and my dog was playing in the day care with no cone. I came to pick her up and she was still playing in day camp with no cone. They bring her out with a cone on and tell me she has been in her kennel since the injury. Before boarding at Two Ponds my dog was fearless. Now she is scared of everything especially men. I wish I would have never used them. read more

We love Two Ponds. My girl Annie goes everyday while we work, and she is loved and well cared for. The staff is great with communication, and will let us know if Annie seemed off, or if she had stomach trouble, etc. Sometimes I feel guilty that we drop her off there every weekday (we don't quite trust her at home yet), but it's comforting to know that she's well taken-care of, and that she loves playing with other dogs and staff all day. About 4 months ago, I took my dog, Pinto, for the first time. I was a little worried about how much trouble he'd give, but all was well. Priscila did a great job on his face, which was what I wanted to be worked on the most. There are some patchy spots all over him, though, in his chest and along his back (pic attached). He could have been trimmed more, there were long hairs all over and I wanted to prevent shedding as much as possible. Again, his chest looks extremely choppy. Overall though, it was a good experience. Every one of the ladies were kind and nice, so good service is always a plus. I have now bought an Andis clipper and groom him myself... he looks less choppy and I save myself $60! I definitely want to try their boarding, though. read more

I'm disappointed that they separated my sibling dogs based only on their size. Our older dog is 69 lbs and our puppy is 25 lbs. Despite the fact the old dog lives with a small dog, has spent nearly 5 years in day care with only small dogs, has a fear of big dogs, and loves his sister more than anything in the world... the staff couldn't budge on putting them together "because of the owner". When I watched the webcam, he was hiding in a corner with his tail tucked. There were massive Great Danes and Mastiffs in the same room as a medium Goldendoodle. I called and tried to reiterate how he does better with smaller dogs, but they again said their owner has zero leeway and only considers weight when choosing where to put dogs. I ended up picking him up after an hour and he spent the rest of the day traumatized, hiding in my closet. The front desk staff was very nice, but it appears they have an unfriendly owner who doesn't see dogs as anything more than a number. Considering the massive volume of "125+ dogs per day", it's no surprise they've adopted a United Airlines style of management. It's certainly a quantity over quality mindset at Two Ponds. The whole day was very disappointing and will be going back to our previous day care in Denver, where siblings are kept together and dogs are assigned rooms based on temperament. The owner of this place obviously isn't a dog owner or dog lover... perhaps he or she should change industries. read more

Do not take your dog here. From start to finish this place was an absolute shit show. When boarding your dog they don't automatically send them to doggie daycare during the day. It's an extra fee. I paid that fee but upon checking the cameras every day noticed my dogs were just being left in this jail cell they call a "cabin". I sent an email asking them to 1) let my dogs out and 2) provide a second bed for my second dog ( I know some dogs sleep cuddle together but mine have their own beds). They apologized and promised they'd get them out for the remainder of their stay. They did not. I had to write back again telling them I can see the dogs being kenneled. They wrote back and said there was more miscommunication on their end that they'd get them out for the remainder of their stay which at this point was only one more day. So upsetting to have to watch your dogs being treated like they're in a shelter but not be there to help and get them out. Will not ever go back. read more

Wonderful facility with wonderful staff. We had to board our giant dog for a week on short notice recently. They didn't have anything available at first but one of their employees, Tina, worked hard to find a way to accommodate us. Her diligence and excellent communication was astounding. We just got our pup back happy and healthy. This Lodge will be our only boarding and day camp for future needs. Such a great experience. read more

Fantastic place for grooming and play time. We brought our big Berner here for grooming. She gets 4 hours of morning playtime and then grooming. The price ends up being about $60-75, which is awesome for everything she gets. When I open my car back door, my dog comes running and jumps right in. When we get to two ponds, she drags us in. That kind of excitement helps me feel sure she is treated well. They do a great job, and we will be trying their boarding soon. read more

Brought my cat in with a " cat pillow" for 9 days. When I picked him up on a Saturday, they were quick to come down and pick him up, which was great...as you call them before you pick them up on the weekends and they come in. However, when I picked him up, the ladies said he "just peed himself". And the cat pillow was soaked. He's about a yr &1/2 old. He's NEVER missed the litter box since he was a kitten. Our 15 month old has so much fun here! We found Two Ponds after experiencing breed discrimination at another local doggy day nearer our home. I'm glad we found this place. It's in a beautiful location. The staff is friendly and professional, and the daycare is consistently good as well. It seems like they keep it clean, and the dogs have access to plenty of shade, water, private kennels, and snacks if you bring them one. They have web cams so you can keep an eye on your pup from your phone. They are mindful of the dogs' needs, and separate based on size and temperament. She is a little more chill than some of the other dogs, and on busy days they will separate the chill dogs from the more active dogs. The prices are reasonable; we pay $18 for half-days. read more

I heard many good reviews about this place; but they were all before Covid, I didn't even think to look here at these reviews before I boarded and it was a total cluster for me and my dogs and I regret boarding them here. First, the app on the website to view your dogs was wrong and it took me 3 days of calling while out of town and leaving messages because no one answered the phone, then they never replied to my messages either. I boarded them on Tuesday and finally on Friday afternoon, I was able to reach a live person to get the proper app. I also paid for day play all day for both dogs and on Saturday, I kept watching to see if my dogs were going out and then I had to call them at about 11:30 a.m. and thankfully someone answered the phone and I told them my dogs were still kenneled. They said they would have to check and put me on hold for about 5 minutes. The girl then came back and said that something went "wonky" with the scheduling and my dogs would now be taken to daycamp to play. I picked my dogs up yesterday and we got home and my 2 year old started vomiting, wouldn't eat and became extremely lethargic. This morning, the other dog started exhibiting the same signs. Turns out both dogs have canine influenza. Well they were supposed to go back in September while I am again out town for five days and I decided to not take them back. I called to cancel and again no answer of the phone....hopefully they get my voicemail. I am researching another facility in Golden, I so miss my dog sitter, this has been a horrible experience. Terrible, unsafe and unsanitary conditions for rabbits. Being as this is a vet owned, "award winning" facility, I expected better and shamefully, I trusted them. The staff is aloof, unknowledgeable and unreliable. First of all, one of the biggest draws is their overly hyped use of webcams. When asking the staff how big the rabbit area was, they were unable to provide an answer. I dismissed it because I was assured there are webcams. Not the case. Webcams are for the dogs only. Come to find out the area is 4x2, which the vet/owner, Mitch Kramer, seems to think is "a very spacious area." This is appalling and these words would never come out of a rabbit savvy vet's mouth. Even more concerning is the use of grates in the hutch. This leads to sore hocks and is well known in the rabbit community to be harmful. Furthermore, I was told 4 separate times to supply the food for the entire stay, which is not a problem. However, when I picked up my rabbit the brand new box of hay I brought was untouched, yet the pellets were almost gone. Rabbits must have 24hr access to hay and should eat pellets only in small amounts, as a supplement. I clearly stated his dietary needs upon intake! When I spoke with Mitch, he informed me that they rarely receive rabbits. Then he insisted that "what probably happened" was the staff was feeding my rabbit hay from the pet lodge's "stash". If you rarely receive rabbits, why would you have food for them on hand? Why would you tell me to bring my own food? How old is this hay? As a vet, why would this be acceptable at all without owner approval? Not all hay is the same and there are varieties better suited for rabbits based on age. Rabbit owners know that GI stasis is a very real concern that can happen from a lack of proper nutrition and can cause death. On top of this, my rabbit's feet were covered in urine stains. Mitch blamed the stains on my rabbit being litter trained! Yes he has dirty feet but NEVER have they been stained with urine while at home. This let me know the staff was not cleaning the area AT ALL. But really? Blame the rabbit, a 4lb creature that was trusted in your care? Unprofessional and laughable. While I appreciated the call from Mitch after voicing my concerns to the staff (who I will add, did not answer the phone for the first hour and a half of being open on a Monday morning), he was full of excuses and it was clear that he had no idea what was happening. He also had the audacity to tell me to "ask the staff to check out the rabbit area next time!" and also added "Let's try without the litterbox next time." There will never be a next time, my rabbit is too important to me to leave him in this type of neglectful situation. Mitch was incredibly dismissive and full of excuses. He chalked it all up to "miscommunications." This is a living creature and my best friend we are talking about. Own up to your business' shortcomings and your careless staff, do not blame the animals. I hope that he will consider shutting down lodging for rabbits and small pets because this facility is ill equipped to care for these little guys and I hope that this review will help others make a better informed decision when leaving their loved ones here. read more
