My dog recently passed on thursday (12/3/15) peacefully in her sleep, a mess i could only think of one place to call to handle her cremation..and that's arvada flats! My family and I have been taking our pets here for some time now, and every time we do there are no regrets. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and very compassionate towards every one of their patients. Definitly recommend Dr. Bassett, but the other DVMs are great too :) Thank you to the staff at Arvada Flats that have helped with Sadie Newman and Molly Clark-Newman read more

My family and I have been taking all our pets here for years and have never had a bad experience. They never judge or are rude when I make a mistake with my pets or ask a silly question. The receptionists are patient and kind. They are so sweet and compassionate when having to put a pet to sleep, providing a beautiful, cozy, private, room for you to say goodbye. It is so so important to go to a vet that truly cares about your pet, it can mean their life (which I've learned the hard way). And Arvada Flats really truly cares about animal's health and wellbeing. read more

My family was lucky enough to stumble upon Arvada Flats while looking for a vet to care for our guinea pigs. They've always been so helpful, kind, and compassionate when it comes to helping out with our two piggies. We brought them here not only for check-ups, but also for nail clippings (a special shout-out to Andrew!). Recently, one of our piggies (unexpectedly) passed away and we wanted her cremated, so we brought her in and they did such a great job helping with the mourning process. They even gave us a little clay memorial plate and sent us a sympathy card. I couldn't recommend them enough! read more

Vets care a lot about each pet. Brought my puppy in for routine shots and they were very informative and loving with my puppy.

I absolutely love Arvada Flats!! We are very picky about where we take our two cats for care, and this is the third vet we've tried-- apparently, the third time is the charm! The staff is knowledgeable and caring, and the pricing is reasonable. Going to the vet is never a fun activity for our cats, but the staff is so gentle and patient with them that it helps ease their anxiety. I wouldn't trust any other vet with our fur babies!! read more

This is by far one of the most caring and compassionate veterinaries that I have been. My dog was at the end of her life and needed to be euthanized. The staff was very caring, considerate, and compassionate with my dog and me. They even followed up with a sympathy card afterwards that was very touching and sincere. Thank you, Arvada Flats, for getting my dog and me through a very difficult time. If I get another dog, she will be coming to you! read more

Overpriced and makes you wait for 45 min when you have an appt (and you've checked in at the front desk). Horrible business. Go elsewhere if you want a vet that's not taking advantage of you, and front desk service that actually cares. read more

We have 4 large dogs--3 seniors and 1 with a missing leg! It's a big process to bring them all in. The entire staff is always incredibly helpful and kind and informative! The dogs love coming to visit. The prices are very reasonable as well. We moved out to Arvada 2 years ago and Arvada Flats came highly recommended...and I am quite happy we found them read more

Dr. Best is the BEST!! I took my Scottie rescue to see her. She is so loving and wonderful.

Just moved to the area. Called made an appointment, showed up at said time. The 1st time showing up to a new vet for my dog if 10 years, I was told then, I wouldn't be able accompany my dog, and speak with the Doctor 1st hand. Had they mentioned that from jump street, I would have never chosen them. everyone was wearing mask, I was wearing a mask. When I questioned not being allowed to go with my dog, no attempt was made to speak with the doctor, and see if he'd be ok with it. Canceled the appointment and left. Not going back. read more

Kind, knowledgeable, compassionate and reasonable. I would highly recommend this veterinary hospital

They have been great caring for our dogs, the only drawback with it is that the price of services is on the higher side

We can not thank all of the staff enough at Arvada Flats for the most amazing care of our dogs throughout the years. Their compassion and guidance, even in the most difficult and painful times, has been amazing! read more

Excellent place. Everyone was very personable and caring. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for quality, personal care for their pet family members. read more

If there was a zero star, I would have given that. Not only did they fail to diagnose my dog with valley fever until he was almost dead (cosy about $2000), they gave him the wrong dosage of thyroid pills, they charged me $1000 after an estimate of 500 -700 for cleaning his teeth. They failed to diagnose lung cancer after an ultrasound on another dog, the next week he had to be put down at an emergency vet clinic. Warning to seniors, YOU CANNOT AFFFORD THESE PEOPLE, read more

I am so disappointed. This vet used to be our favorite and we really loved the care our animals received there, but I think we're moving to a new place. Recently, our cat has had some problems that may or may not be cancer. First, we didn't get a call back regarding x-ray results for days passed the promised time frame. We had to call 3-4 times to get them to respond, each time they promised a call back and no one called us. Next, we requested some medication, didn't hear back, had to call again, didn't hear back, had to call again, etc. I feel like something has happened and their quality of care and their responsiveness to clients has gone downhill. I understand that things happen, but not being thoughtful and responsive when an animal is potentially dying is unacceptable to me. read more

I just moved to the Denver area from Wichita and wasn't up to date on the local vaccines. I was expecting to pay in the neighborhood of $400-$500 but it was a mere $275 for a full check up with vaccinations, having his hind leg checked because he was limping, getting his eye checked because he's a clumsy little dog and managed to get an infection along with the doggy friendly drops he needed, and he had a heart worm test with a year's supply of heart guard. It was the best experience I have ever had bringing him to the vet. He adored Dr. Wendy Furst and I felt comfortable letting her take him into the back even though I couldn't see him. This is a first for me. I will definitely be going back as long as I live in the area. read more

Bumped up again. We recently took our almost 16 year old kitty in on a weekend suspecting a UTI or kidney failure. We explained that at 16 years old, we were not willing to spend a fortune to extend her life or prolong any pain or suffering. Dr. Larson was so caring and emphatic. She did not pressure us to proceed one way or another, and she was very respectful of our boundaries. Turns out the kitty did have kidney failure. After counseling me on the options, we talked it over and my husband and I made the very difficult decision to put her down. We made our decision on a Sunday, when this clinic was closed. We took her elsewhere to have her put to sleep, and I called Dr Larson first thing on Monday morning to tell her. She was so very compassionate, and she reassured me we'd done the right thing. A few days later, the office sent a condolence card, which I still have up on the fridge. Fast forward 2 months, to today. We check the mail and get something from CSU, stating that a donation has been made on our kitty's behalf to a cat research project. I am just blown away by the thoughtfulness of this gesture. The office did not have to send as card, but they did. They did not have to make a donation for us, but they did. They went above and beyond to provide excellent, compassionate care, not just to our animals, but to us as well. read more

WE have been bringing our animals here for 6 years. They are caring and compassionate. My doggies are not the most willing going to the vet but the staff here is excellent . I appreciate the care they have given my 2 dogs and 2 cats ( who have since passed away) . Great Vet! read more

So I love the veterinary staff of Arvada Flats. I agree with everything the other reviewers here have said. The staff is friendly, caring, and always give a variety of options. They are realistic in terms of what needs to be performed versus what additional things could be done to help your pet; yet are not necessary if you have money constraints. They are also able to get your animals in quickly. I have been bringing my older mini schnauzer here since we moved into the neighborhood when they were in their old building. Once they built and moved to the new building, they brought in a fantastic grooming staff. A year ago my husband and I brought in another mini schnauzer to our home. With that, Arvada Flats received another client. The reason why I'm dropping my 5 stars to 4 is because recently they let Cary go and now no longer have grooming services. I'm upset because I was never notified and found out when I called to make an appointment. They recommended I move my dog's grooming to Two Ponds on 80th and Hoyt. So Cary's mom, Linda is back to grooming my schnauzers. The only problem I have is that I absolutely loved Cary as much as I loved the rest of the staff at Arvada Flats. To be quite honest I'm devastated over this change. My youngest schnauzer who can be a pain in the behind had developed a wonderful relationship with Cary. I've honestly considered moving my dog's veterinary services to Indian Tree because I'm so upset over this, but realized that seemed very irrational. I'm begging Arvada Flats to bring back Cary! She was as gentle and loving with my dogs as you all have been. (Or at least message me and let me know where I can find her.) read more

I've taken my pets here since I was a kid. This place is awesome! They do their job throughly and are always kind and sweet to my pups!

JUSTJACK has been going here for 10 years. I love the kind, friendly, knowledgeable staff and would recommend them to anyone! 4 PAWS UP!

I have taken both my puppy and cat to this vet on multiple occasions. Overall the facilities are nice and clean and all surgeries have been done well with no issues. My problem comes from the fact that they are VERY opinionated and will not hesitate to make you feel guilty if you disagree with them. We found an abandoned cat about a year ago who was at most a year old. She had been out on her own for a while and had issues with her claws so we decided to do a declaw procedure. Every staff member who we spoke to from the vet to the person setting up the appointment gave us a lecture on how we were basically abusive but if we were going to get rid of her because the procedure wasn't done then they would do it. We never said anything about getting rid of her by the way, and NEVER would. I understand that this is a controversial topic, and for that reason decided to let it go, but I love that cat so much I do not appreciate being treated like that. You have said your piece and we have made our decision so please stop. We decided to give them another shot when we adopted our puppy and wanted to get him neutered. We got the same hassle that it was not right for us to do the neuter at that time (4 months). We still went on with surgery as we were obligated to get him neutered under Colorado state law because he was from a rescue. When we picked him up they were saying how happy everyone was going to be that he was leaving. Apparently, he was whining, but not so bad that he had to be sent to the "back" where the problem dogs go but "he almost did". Excuse me? He is 4 months old, waking up in a strange place in pain and on drugs... who wouldn't whine? I have spoken with a few other neighbors and relatives that have been here and said that they had similar issues when setting up appointments and after picking up their pets. Personally, I understand that everyone has an opinion but this gets to a point where I do not want to come back. We pay a lot of money to care for our animals and that money is better served somewhere where the animals and owners will be respected. read more

My family and I have always taken our dogs here, probably for the last 15 years or so! Recently, our morkie Chewy was badly attacked by another dog. We didn't even know if he would sruvive the next 24 hours, it was the most scary situation we have ever been in. The employees at Arvada Flats were so sweet and understanding with our emotions. They made sure we knew Chewy was in good hands and would have the best care. They even let us go back and see him, just so we had the clarity in mind that our dog would be loved and cared for. It has been almost a month since he was attacked and Chewy is running around and wagging his tail just like he was before. Thank you to everyone at Arvada Flats that have not only helped out with Chewy but also Mischa, Niktia, Shadow, Kisha, and my dog Loki. I will never take my dogs to another place. Also, Katie who is one of their employees is always so helpful and knowledgeable with this field. She shows passion and compassion in a field where it is hard to seperate emotions like that. I truly appreciate the work Katie has done and contuses to do with each and every visit. read more

If you're in Arvada/Westy this is the place to go. The docs are great, support staff even better. None of the usual "you should really buy this $400 blood test, just in case" kind of stuff. They make appointments with very short notice. Had one of my pups neutered a few months ago at the clinic and not only did they keep me posted on how he was doing, they made follow-up calls for two days to make sure he recovered well. I've lived all over the country, worked with many vet clinics for my animals and these guys are absolute top shelf. read more

I would recommend this clinic to anyone who loves their pet. My beloved dog Sarabelle was cared for them for 14 years. Through two separate broken legs and liver cancer she survived all odds and lived a long full life. I know it was from the excellent care she received by the outstanding Vets at this hospital. Now that Sara has passed, I am comforted knowing that she is in a better place and our second dog, Bella, is received the same quality of care from them. I ABSOLUTELY recommend this clinic. In loving memory of Sara, Valerie. read more

Had an incredible experience at this vet. 5 stars all around! They treat your pet like one of their own. Definitely recommend going here for your furry friends! read more

We have been to several vets in the Arvada area trying to find the right one, this is the place. Everyone from the people who greet you to the vets are friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. They are great with my kitties. When we had issues with one of my kitties, the vet laid out our options for tests and treatments, gave us the ins and outs for each; i never felt pressured or like they were trying to up-sell. To the reviewer Jess F. below, the fact that they refused to to a declaw procedure makes me like them even more (there are several countries that have banned this practice all together for good reason and so many places push it because it is a money maker, good for Arvada Flats!) read more

When I had first moved to town approximately a year and a half ago, I took my dogs to Arvada Flats at the recommendation of a co-worker. For approximately the first year, I was extremely happy with Dr. Best, as well as the other staff I interacted with. However; about six months ago I started to have strange issues with the front desk staff. They are extremely opinionated, and on more than one occasion had told me, with great certainty, information which clearly conflicted with that which our veterinarian had told me. One girl there frequently, in what I can only describe as a condescending tone, likes to tell you something, then follows up what she's told you with "Mmmkay?" Exactly like Mr. Mackey from South Park. You can't make this stuff up!!! One Friday, after an extremely busy week at work, I called to see if I could get my pets Rimadyl prescription filled, as I realized that it was going to run out during the weekend. It was approximately 3 hours before closing time on Friday afternoon when I called, but I told that because I hadn't called 24 hours in advance, we would have to wait until Monday to get the prescription filled. I've picked up meds there multiple times on afternoons, and almost invariably the front desk staff is talking about what they doing on Facebook, etc., so they clearly don't have a resource issue if personnel have time to Facebook while at work. To tell me that my pet would have to suffer through the weekend because I didn't call 24 hours in advance clearly told me that my pets health and welfare wasn't was their priority, but enforcing arbitrary guidelines was what was important to them. If their refusal to fill a script within a 3 hour time frame wasn't enough, their med prices are some of the highest I've ever experienced. I called several other vets, and my old vet to compare, and quickly realized that I was paying $40-60.00 more per Rimadyl script by using Arvada Flats for the "convenience" of being told my pet would have to suffer through the weekend. When I asked for a paper script for my Dogs Rimadyl prescription (chronic condition that is never going away) it took three days before the script was ready. I specifically asked that they write the script as "substitution allowed" so I could use a generic medication, and I was told by the front desk staff that "the pharmacy can just call us when you get the script filled", which is again an action when clearly will most likely inconvenience me, the pharmacist, and my pet. When I finally got my script, it had no refills on it. The message being sent here clearly seemed to be that if I was't going to use them for both my Doctor and prescription provider, they would be sure to inconvenience me as much as possible. When I finally decided to get my medical records so I could find a new vet, I noticed that one of the front desk people had written snippy comments on my pets records because I had refused to fill an antibiotic which my pet no longer needed when I requested additional meds for a diarrhea problem. I knew I didn't need the antibiotic because the vet had told me we no longer needed it, but that we might need anti-diarrhea meds again. While Dr. Best and her nursing staff have always been top notch, the girls at the front desk are for some reason allowed to alienate and treat customers poorly and unprofessionally. Until this office starts requiring their front desk staff to treat customers professionally and as equals, it simply isn't worth the wonderful service the vet staff provides to have to deal with the rude and uncaring staff at their front desk. read more

I was totally disappointed in the services I received. They are overpriced and always trying to sell their products, both prescriptions and over the counter products. Don't question their billing because they become very defensive and do not want to discuss it. I will NEVER go back there! read more
