I love the fact that there's an interview program so you know the dogs aren't too crazy. Every time I bring my pups in, the staff are so welcoming and patient. I'm able to watch the dogs on the camera, which is always funny. When I sign up for enrichment, I get pictures during the day, which makes it extra special. They come home tired and happy. Incredibly disappointed in this location. Not sure if management changed, but recently they no longer allow you to pick up your dog from 11 am- 4 pm on sundays. This is insanely inconvenient as most people who board dogs over the weekend pick dogs up on sundays. We also found out they board the dogs during this time, meaning they are locked away in their crate area and are not playing with other dogs. We used to take our dog here because we liked that he was socializing with other dogs. To have dogs locked away for 5 hours AND the owners can't pick them up feels like a huge miss on Camp Bow Wow's part. It also costs an extra $19 if you want to pick your dog up on Sunday after 4pm. Very disappointed, will no longer be bringing our dog here. read more

We were first introduced to Camp Bow Wow in Phoenix. Very convenient to have doggie day-care while I visited mom. We have always been fortunate to have someone live with us who would watch the dogs. She has some physical issues and can no longer watch the dogs when we travel. So, for the first time - ever - we had to board the dogs. We live in the mountains of Colorado and saw that there was a Camp Bow Wow in Golden - right off of 70 on the way to the airport. We decided to give it a go for a quick 5 day trip. I also booked two weeks in November, but thought this would be a good trial. Staff was extremely friendly, got great pics of the dogs during snuggle time - and most importantly - dogs seemed their same old selves when I picked them up. Since they can't talk, I have to trust my dog instincts. They are back for a few days at the end of the month - and I have no hesitation. I also like the fact that they have cameras so you can see your dogs during the day. They are also very strict with required vaccines - thats a good thing!!!!! read more

I've been boarding here for years & many dogs over that time but the last 2 times we've stayed here (over the last 12 months) we've had our dog come home with pretty major issues. The first time our dog came home with a big scab on her ear (size of a nickel) but no one knew what happened, even after 'reviewing video footage.' With all the bleeding it must've done, someone must know what happened... She's a very submissive dog but some dog got to her :( And the last time our dog came home she wasn't eating or drinking. After a day of that, she was Down - dangerously sick. We had her at the vet 4x that week (at a $2K total.) Diagnosis was a stomach bug. We were gone for a week & she was totally fine when we dropped her off so he contracted it there. Very disappointing. read more

We live 30 mins away and still bring our pup here because of their upmost care and friendliness. We have been to various camp bow wows and this one is for sure our favorite. The staff tells us how she is and at times sends us pictures. I love the ability to look at the webcams to see if she is playing. We have also done add ons like a bath and teeth cleaning and have no complaints. Yuki loves going to camp and always comes home so tired! The app is easy to use and they always have events and promotions. My favorite is when they have a 5 pack sale! We take her here so often and love when we can save money. ***UPDATE**** Camp Bow Wow corporate headquarters reached out to us immediately. They were very understanding and apologetic. They looked into the matter and, very quickly, handled the whole thing very professionally. We were very thankful they took the matter seriously and made it better in the end. We've had awesome experiences with our local Camp Bow Wows but we will never use this location again. Dropped our dog off on the way out of town and told them we'd be picking him up on our way back (it's almost an hour from our house). When we arrived, their door was locked but there was no sign on the door. Employees started showing up and they said they were there for a staff meeting and they were closed. We explained we lived far away and one young lady was understanding and said she would get him. What I presume was the manager drove up and very rudely said they were closed and we couldn't get our dog and walked off. My husband went back to the door and the other nice lady retrieved our dog while the manager was very annoyed with her and said to lock the door. She also had told us they had this info posted on their website (still couldn't find it anywhere obvious), we use the app and it wasn't posted there AND no one told us when we dropped him off. Good customer service and common courtesy goes a long way so we will take out business elsewhere. read more

I take my dog to CBW LoDo and we love it there. However they were not doing daycare this week due to the holiday, so we went to CBW Golden. I decided to have them bathe my dog, and added on the doggie deluxe package. Upon pickup, my dog was soaking wet. They said they had a hard time getting him dry. He's a standard poodle and I dry him at home with a regular blow dryer and have never had an issue, so I am not sure what their problem was. I drove right to Pet Smart and they were mortified, it is 4° and my dog is purple and soaking wet. They immediately got him in the blow dryer at Pet Smart because they were worried about hypothermia. I also realized that my dogs nails were still long and looked like they hadn't been trimmed. I called and the front desk girl was nice and confirmed that the bather had forgotten. She did issue me a $14 refund for the cost of the nail trim. I am not normally one to leave negative reviews, but I truly am baffled at how they let my dog leave and go outside during the coldest days Denver has had in 30 years. I have reached out to the manager to make it right, and will update on how they proceed to make things right. PS- I wish I had taken photos but I was more concerned with my shivering dog and getting him to PetSmart. The employee at Pet Smart was mortified and told me he was purple. read more

Went in for the trial day for my dog to be observed before boarding and was met with absolute refusal because we were 15 minutes past the "15 minute grace period" for the appointment, which I might add was NEVER explained to me on the phone! We drove 30 minutes to get there, arriving at 1030 am, and they had literally ALL DAY to observe him with other dogs but the manager had no decency whatsoever citing "policy" which made absolute no sense. Here's how you do it...let the dog run around with a dog or two and then slowly add a few more to the mix, and Voila you figure it out! And if you have to kennel the dog until that can happen, so be it, as most decent kennels like to see how a dog does there too before boarding! read more

I am back from my vacation and I left my dog Grady at Camp Bow Wow for 10 days. I was on a cruise and was able to watch Grady when at play with the other campers. I can always leave town and know that Grady will be well taken care of. They sent me e mails of Grady when he had his play time with one of the staff. All in all I happy with the care he gets. I've taken my dog twice to this groomer and they've done a great job. The only reason I am not going back is because of how long they kept my dog there. The last time I dropped her off at 8 am, and she was not done till 5pm. As soon as we got outside after, she went pee for legit 20 seconds. Then, when we got home, she drank her whole water bowl. Disappointed. I don't think they ever let her out of that cage all day. read more

We had an appointment for our dog to do a test run before the standing reservation. Confirmed the appointment, sent over all of the documentation a week in advance, and called to make sure everything was good to go. Then this morning we drive an hour and a half to Camp Bow Wow only to be rudely turned around at the door because our dog didn't get a certain shot within 6 months. Our pup is fully vaccinated as per the veterinary guidelines and in good health. Instead of reading through the vet records ahead of time, Camp Bow Wow chose to wait until we got there. We are very disappointed in the service and procedure. We would've been loyal customers had they not acted incredibly unprofessional and rude. Not to mention another dog was let in at the same time and had a bleeding eye. I do NOT recommend Camp Bow Wow nor will I in the future. read more

I chose campbowwow because was on my way to work but I do not feel that I settled at all. My dog is my everything and is completely 100% spoiled. I feel that she goes to day camp with other dogs that are equally as spoiled and I appreciate it. And I can watch from work and show all my co-workers the funny things my dog does throughout the day by using the link on their website that shows multiple camera angles of each play area. My big 'ol baby Rambo absolutely loves camp. He gets so excited to go, as soon we say "are you ready for camp?" he goes straight to the door ready to go !! He gets to just have fun all day with other dogs instead of being in a crate all day. When I pick him up he is pooped! Straight to the bed he goes as soon as we get home. We moved to Golden about 18 months ago and our dog Ranger loves going to Camp Bow Wow! He used to go to City Bark on 6th Avenue however due to moving, Camp Bow Wow Golden has been his home. I would HIGHLY suggest that you do NOT take your fur baby dog to this place. On day 3 of attending my dog was viciously attacked by a troubled dog that had been transferred through out the Camp Bow Wow facilitates . After this attack on my dog I was told that this troubled dog was dismissed and can not go back to any Camp Bow Wow. In my opinion there is negligence on Camp Bow Wow for allowing multiple of dogs to be at risk of the aggressive behaviors of this troubled dog. Now my dog has had to suffer with bite marks over his rear leg, can not put any pressure on it (hence he's been a 3 legged dog for 5days now) has had to be medicated and on pain pills. I had purchased a 10 day package after my dog first day. After this attack and taking time to process the incident I decided that Camp Bow Wow does not have the safety of my dog in their best interest and decided he will never be going back. I called to request a refund for my prepaid package and that's when I was ATTACKED by a young worker (I will not use her name at this time) for my decision of not trusting their facility to keep my dog safe. She didn't want me to get my full refund because my dog attended 2 days . Really, I have a huge vet bill due to your negligence. She talked to her boss and they finally agreed to give me my full refund along with her attitude of rudeness, mean, degrading attitude of telling me my dog is banned from all Camp Bow Wow in the USA. She then proceeded to yell some more at me wouldn't listen and hung up on me. Needless to say I had to call again to speak to someone else to process my refund. In closing Camp Bow Wow is not concerned with your dog's safety, or happiness! All they want is your MONEY! read more

Imagine getting ready to leave town and be told (twice) that they cannot take your dog as they are full up. I'm sitting here on my laptop with two happy tired dogs thanks to Camp Bow Wow. I remember back in the day when I'd go on vacation and leaving the family dog at a kennel. It was such an awful feeling as they would lead your dog into some mysterious back room and you just knew they would be in some tiny cage all day while you were gone. It was heartbreaking. Thank goodness for the whole dog daycare and social boarding environment revolution. I've been to a couple of locations and doggy day cares, but the Camp Bow Wow in Lakewood / Golden is the best in my opinion. The owner is great and the play yards are larger than the other locations I have been to. A lot of old style kennels or places that board your dog claim to offer dog daycare or have a social environment, but investigate them because often they really don't. They may offer a few minutes outside of a cage. At Camp Bow Wow, the dogs really are out playing all the time. Instead of leading your dog into some mysterious back room, they give you a tour of the whole place and have web cameras so you can check in on your dog on line. Give them a try, I'm sure your dog will appreciate it. read more

My two Pootrievers love it here. They have stayed at a couple different Day Cares and overnight Boarding places and it's hard to tell if they like it or not cause they are so excited when you come to pick them up. After trying 2 other unnamed places in the area, both times when we came back a second time as soon as they saw where they were the put on the FOUR PAW BREAKS! It's a terrible feeling to have to drop your dogs off at a place where you basically have to drag them in and you can see them jump up onto the glass staring at you like WHYYYYYYYYY. So after the trial day at Camp Bow Wow, we came back for the true test....the second visit. When we got there both of the pootrievers dragged me to the door and started pawing to get in. Now that is what you want in a Day Care/Boarding place. A couple of people perks...the staff is great, the rates are very competitive, the webcams are great and they let both our dogs stay in the same "Cabin" which we love. Can't think of a negative thing to say. Our pups have spent at least 8 nights and countless days here and still they are excited to return. Great place. read more

We love Camp Bow Wow! They have welcomed our two dogs for the last three years with kindness and love. They have done wonders with our dogs. When we adopted one, she was so skittish that she wouldn't come out from under the coffee table for the first three months. She was also terrified of any man. We started taking her to Camp Bow Wow to socialize her with other dogs. The caring folks there worked with her and now she is a happy dog who wants to meet new people. We also love that the dogs get to play all day for one price. We love that when we board the dogs, there is just one price that includes all-day play. There is no additional charge for administering medications. Finally, we we will never take our dogs to another camp because Camp Bow Wow accepted our dogs from the very first day, even though one is a pit-mix. Thank you Camp Bow Wow! read more

This place is great! We've been boarding our dogs here for 8 years (labs) for vacations of various lengths of time. The staff is great, and our dogs always come back happy, and exhausted. In the summer they have pools out for the water dogs (which ours love). I would highly recommend this, although I will add the caveat that we've never done daycare, only boarding. The longest length of time we've left the dogs has been 2 weeks when we went to Europe, and still no issues. EDIT: 10/27/16 - just to update that we're still using them, and we still really like them. Our dog (we're down to 1 now) always loves going to Camp Bow Wow, and is exhausted whenever we pick him up. The staff there are excellent and always go out of their way to play with him or pet him, or whatever he needs. read more

Beware of the up-sale and stringent interview process. My experience - I needed to do a tour and then my dog was "interviewed" by a trainer. This will take 2-4 hrs of your day so be prepared. The one who interviewed my dog looked to be a recent high school graduate, I questioned her level of experience. My 11 month old dog gets excited to meet new dogs and people, not something unexpected for a dog her age and with her personality. It has never been an issue with any other dog daycares, dog sitters, or come up in dog parks as a problem. During her "interview", she did not pick up on social dog cues when one other older dog didn't want to play and my dog wanted to play. Let me repeat that - my 11 month lab-golden mix puppy likes to play, not a surprise . Because of this, it was recommended that she undergo dog training courses offered at their place (for $$$), once/if she completes those, she will then be able to identify social dog cues and get accepted into the prestigious camp bow wow. I was not impressed with their facility, it was very basic, albeit clean. My pup and I will be finding another place, there are other accepting businesses out there. read more

I was really excited for Camp Bow Wow Golden because of the webcams and nicely sized outdoor dog area. I have a younger dog who gets really excited about playing and he also likes to lead the pack. I was told that there were "gate issues" when they were opening and closing the gate, and that he didn't handle it well. They offered to have the manager contact me and to review the video with me which they never did. I don't feel that the staff are well trained enough or truly understand how to engage with excitable dogs. read more
