I have used Training Wheels for both in-home and on-site training as well as boarding of my one year old Italian Greyhound Lemon. She was a rehome situation and had been trained to use a liter box in her crate. Meghan from Training Wheels helped me train Lemon to go outside and to LOVE her crate as a safe place and not soil it. Additionally, she helped me train Lemon to be totally focused on me, even with distractions. She sits when asked, she looks to me for approval and consent, and comes when called, no matter what. She is the goodest girl now - not that she wasn't before - she is just so much better now. All of this training was done with a lot of knowledge and a lot of love from Training Wheels. I also use Training Wheels for boarding Lemon. She gets so much positive attention and interaction. I was a bit hesitant at first because there are a lot of big dogs, but the times that I have boarded her, there have been dogs her size to play with and the bigger dogs play in a different area. For sleeping, she gets her own area (with door) with plenty of space for her bed and toys and then an area for going potty, should she need to in the night (Italian Greyhounds have hamster bladders, haha). The building where she sleeps and takes naps is temperature controlled and she is surrounded by other dogs in their areas, so is never alone. There are multiple outside play areas - and they designate which areas are for which size dog, and the dogs are always supervised. Training Wheels staff are always with the dogs and interacting with the dogs. They send pics of my happy dog playing outside and running and having just the best time. I feel that my tiny dog Lemon is very safe and happy there. I can't recommend Training Wheels enough for both training and boarding. Lemon is SO well taken care of and loved. read more

We cannot thank the team at Training Wheels enough! Oscar, our mini dachshund, has struggled with reactivity around dogs and people. Training Wheels has slowly introduced him to being comfortable and having fun in a small group of dogs. Their skilled trainers have been amazing at showing him all of the positive praise while he is learning. Yesterday I was able to take Oscar (with little sis Olive in tow!) to the dog park for the first time and he had a blast. Training Wheels gave both Oscar and I the confidence to try without fear knowing we had the tools to make it fun and how to realize if it was not. Leaving a beloved pet with someone takes an enormous amount of trust for anyone, but more so if your dog has special needs as ours does. Training Wheels and Jamie went above and beyond to earn our trust, our dog's trust, and to make his stay and training happy and comfortable. We can't say enough good things about Jamie's facility. It's fantastic to have a place to board our beloved Cooper that isn't a kennel where he gets out to a tiny play yard a few times a day. Her new facility offers a room and invites pet-parents to bring their dog's comfort items to help them settle - it's bigger than my home office that he generally chills in on weekdays! There is a large set of fenced in fields bigger than our yard and full of fun outdoor surprises for Cooper. We honestly believe her price is too low for what she is offering for boarding! Best of all, is Jamie herself. She worked closely with us on the best plan to get Cooper ready to stay with her and to feel comfortable there and helped us manage our questions as well as working to get to know Cooper and let him get to know her facility. This is so important to our peace of mind in leaving him, and additionally important to anyone who, like us, lives with a reactive or fearful dog. We've had Cooper for 3 years and never been able to board him knowing he'd be miserable in a kennel hearing and seeing dogs and so many unfamiliar things. Jamie's facility and approach and deep knowledge of training for reactive and fearful dogs allowed us to board for the first time. Cooper was successful there beyond our hopes and wishes! He played, learned some new games, and it was clear he and Jamie had bonded by the time we got back. I wouldn't leave my pup anywhere else! Pacer, my 6 year old Aussie, is the love of my life...and she is also high energy, sensitive, and reactive. I adopted Mishka in early 2019, after she had been rehomed twice prior in her short 3 years of life. Mishka is a husky malamute mix with a lot of personality and had a lot of insecurities (constantly afraid of noises, people, etc..) In the first two months that I had her, she managed to nip and/or bite three times. After we began to see Jamie, we immediately saw improvement. Using the positive reinforcement that Jamie taught us, Mishka has corrected her resource guarding of her kennel, learned how to go lay down, learned basic manners such as saying hi to trainers and most importantly - has not bit anyone. I have taken her to the lake, the vet along with long walks in the neighborhood and every experience has been positive since we started working Jamie. For our Dog Oakley we've worked with both Jamie and Mary from Training Wheels on behavior training and for petting sitting services. When we adopted Oakely last year we new little to nothing about his background, as he was a stray dog brought into the shelter system. As we started falling in love with our new family member we also quickly learned about his lack of social interaction skills when meeting and being around new people. When we first started learning about these traits in our new dog it seemed like a very large hurdle that would be impossible to overcome. I picked up Sammy from Training Wheels yesterday. He was relaxing in a yard with a tennis ball and a couple of other dogs playing nearby. This type of normal dog interaction used to be impossible for him. Jamie has brought Sammy, and me, a long way. Training Wheels was recommended by my Veterinary Behaviorist and Jamie is the real deal. She has made it possible for me to keep both my job and my fearful, troubled rescue dog. I did board and train to start (absolutely worth it) and now I often just board. Her one-on-one training sessions are also great. Importantly, Sammy loves Training Wheels.
