Now at 9 months old, after 6 lessons and weeks of practice, practice, practice, he is a different dog. I never thought there could be such a difference in a dog in such a short time. Jesse was afraid of so much. He had to learn how to go up and down stairs and be comfortable riding in a car. Every noise on a walk startled him -- birds, cars, loud noises, other dogs, people, everything. Walking with him was a horrible experience. He pulled and sniffed constantly, lunged at people and other dogs. Nothing I did was helping because I had no idea of what to do. He wasn't much better in the house. He had no boundaries. He would not stay in one place for any length of time. He couldn't be in the backyard because he constantly ate the mulch and chewed holes in the grass. Thank goodness I found Jack! All of that has changed - in 3 months! Because of what Jack has taught me, I now am able to successfully communicate with my dog and help him gain the confidence he needs to be his best self. His energy has mellowed since he no longer has the need to take control of everyone and everything. His walks are enjoyable - even off leash. Yes, Jesse can be off leash and we hike the trails in Boulder. He comes when called and he will walk beside me with no leash if I ask him to. It's really unbelievable. There are so many things I could tell you about my amazing dog and what he can do. But you can experience it yourself if any of this sounds familiar. If you are willing to put in the time to work with you dog and do what Jack or Alex tells you, I have every reason to believe you will have great results. My daughter worked with Alex and followed her advice. She was certain her dog would never stop chasing rabbits and squirrels or be trusted off leash as well as numerous other problems. After 3 months, she too has had amazing results and now a well-behaved dog. We hike together -- with our dogs off leash. I continue to use the foundation, techniques, and education Jack provided as I continue training with Jesse. There is always room for improvement and new things for both of us to learn. I really could not have managed Jesse without Jack's help. I will always be grateful.

The owners were so quick to respond to my inquiry, and providing so much detailed information. They truly express why they do what they do more than what they do, which makes me really trust their intentions! I just took my first trial class and was blown away by the attention my dog was given in a class of about 12 dogs. Mayra and Ashley were great to give tips on how to handle your dog's tendencies outside of the training objective for the day. I loved that they took the time to know each dog well and work with you one on one. It really helped my own one on one interaction with my dog. The classed allowed for two sessions (one at the beginning and one at the end) of socialization with step by steps on the training focus. Very helpful! With my busy schedule, it's hard for me to attend every Saturday, but because of their rotating schedule, I can make my missed class up as soon as they are teaching it again. This is VERY convenient and helpful. As a new client who adopted my dog, the pricing was VERY reasonable and so far, absolutely worth every dollar. I will be sure to update you all on the progress of my pup! She's already got "leave it" better than I ever would have imaged! I hope to continue my training with Karma Dog and will definitely be recommending it to my friends and family!

My SO and I enrolled him in the puppy socialization classes with Karma at one of their Austin locations and we started seeing drastic changes in personality and shyness within 2 classes! His first class (at 9 weeks old) he was terrified of everything - other dogs, other people, loud noises, and hid behind us the entire time. By the end of the second class, his confidence started showing and all he wanted to do was play with other puppies! Now, he's bolder, a little more well-mannered, and we couldn't have done it without the Karma team!!

So Baci was an indulged as a new puppy who arrived at our home just when our new granddaughter did in a remote city. But once we moved to the Front Range area to be closer to our growing family, Baci needed some training. Isaac was just amazing. Calm, quiet, and easygoing. No reprimands from this guy, just relationship building, establishing trust and clear communication, and persistence. Our dog went from a highly reactive and headstrong little girl to walking on a heal with a loose leash, being able to sit on command, staying out of a designated area, and more. All in just one session. The best part is that her fun and high spirits remain fully intact. This dog is still happy, fun, and loving. Thanks, Isaac. Highly recommend!

Three days into having him and he dragged me down a hill to get to another dog. I love him, but he's an absolute psycho. I called a bunch of trainers to see if someone could help with his dog reactivity. They all flat out refused because of his age and size to train him around other dogs which is what Sheldon needed. After the first two sessions with Isaac where he shared invaluable tips, he allowed us to practice around his dog Finn (the most placid dog). Isaac was patient, calm, and supportive of our journey with Sheldon. He'd even offer guidance if I had a question about the training post-session. We're now almost a year into having Sheldon and I can comfortably walk him around other dogs with some of the cues and tips that Isaac taught me. I can take him to the park and I can have him on a long line. Today we walked passed two off leash dogs playing fetch! I'm truly grateful to Isaac for making our lives and Sheldon's life a lot less stressful.

We already have a 5 year old lab and juggling the needs of a new puppy, while trying to get our older dog acclimated to her new sibling was daunting and exhausting. As soon as I spoke with Alexandra, I felt a wave of relief. She is informative, thoughtful and responsive, and her rapport with our dogs was warm and loving. She not only gave us the tools to help our dogs learn and grow, she provided me with a great deal of validation and encouragement, supporting me in trusting my instincts and my growing understanding of each of our dogs' needs and behaviors. When our puppy began exhibiting separation anxiety, Alexandra was a constant and valuable resource, helping me to work with her in increments, setting our dog up for success from 15 minute periods alone, and now up to two hours. That ability to take a breath, and find some balance outside of the house, and puppy/two dog parenthood, has deepened and strengthened my relationship with our pups. I was also grateful that Alexandra allowed us to choose the training option that was best suited to our two dog family, by offering a flexible payment plan that fit our family's financial needs and budget. After completing our training, we feel so much better equipped to continue strengthening our dogs' skills and work with them to build on the foundation that Alexandra helped us to lay. The bond between dog parent and pup is at the core of making any training a positive and successful experience. I appreciate that it is that bond that is at the core of Alexandra's approach and philosophy. Thank you for your guidance and insights Alexandra. You've made a big difference in the lives of our pups!

And, after a very bad reaction to a dog on our walk, where she redirected on me, I would get scared any time we saw a dog when we were out walking and did my best to just avoid dogs altogether. We finally decided we couldn't fix Stella on our own and we decided to take her to Black Paw Dog Training. The training we ALL received has changed our lives! Since her graduation, we have enjoyed Saturday pack walks with other graduates and Stella has done great, walking side by side with other dogs, passing dogs out on the trail and staying in a perfect heel. I never thought it could be possible. She plays ball in a neighborhood park and has perfect recall. And our walks and ball playing in the neighborhood are totally different. She can pass dogs on the trail and just walk on by without losing her mind. And taking her with us to stores is now a fun outing. No more whining. No more pulling. Just a well-behaved pup. Bernadette and Cecilia have opened up a whole new world for us that we never thought was possible. We cannot thank Black Paw Dog Training or recommend them highly enough.

She said it once, showed it quickly then expected us to do it. She would show something, then have us go do it while she talked with her friends she brought in. She didn't pay attention to her students. She only offered help when I was struggling if I asked for her help, she didn't notice when people were struggling. She was stern and not approachable. She said she had lots of experience training. Perhaps that was true but she needs to work on people skills to be a group dog trainer. This intro class was designed to rush us through a program of a bunch of different things every time so that maybe we felt we learned a lot and got our moneys worth, rather than make sure we had important things down really well. The instructor said that after we finished the class we could come in for open play. I called and left a message about this twice but no one called me back. The place was freezing cold in the winter and smelly. I've heard other people like this place, but I won't go back. I also read the review about a woman abusing a dog here and people being rude. Additionally, she helped me train Lemon to be totally focused on me, even with distractions. She sits when asked, she looks to me for approval and consent, and comes when called, no matter what. She is the goodest girl now - not that she wasn't before - she is just so much better now. All of this training was done with a lot of knowledge and a lot of love from Training Wheels. I also use Training Wheels for boarding Lemon. She gets so much positive attention and interaction. I was a bit hesitant at first because there are a lot of big dogs, but the times that I have boarded her, there have been dogs her size to play with and the bigger dogs play in a different area. For sleeping, she gets her own area (with door) with plenty of space for her bed and toys and then an area for going potty, should she need to in the night (Italian Greyhounds have hamster bladders, haha). The building where she sleeps and takes naps is temperature controlled and she is surrounded by other dogs in their areas, so is never alone. There are multiple outside play areas - and they designate which areas are for which size dog, and the dogs are always supervised. Training Wheels staff are always with the dogs and interacting with the dogs. They send pics of my happy dog playing outside and running and having just the best time. I feel that my tiny dog Lemon is very safe and happy there. I can't recommend Training Wheels enough for both training and boarding. Lemon is SO well taken care of and loved.
