I decided to wait until after our trip to look for a new rescue; however, a friend in Texas asked if I would please take a stray that her grand kids had found there. They couldn't keep him, they were unable to find anyone else to take him and they didn't want to drop him off at a rescue shelter there. Hence, I ended up with an untrained but loveable stray named Buddy. Due to the short amount of time before our trip, I looked for a place to teach him some manners. Based on a recommendation from another company and the glowing reviews on the web, I dropped him off at Dog Dynamix for 3 weeks of board and train for $3,495. Pricey, but I was glad they would be able to complete his training before we left for Montana. Imagine my surprise when Buddy came back to me unable to do anything that he hadn't been doing when I dropped him off. He could do a little heeling for very brief periods provided there were zero distractions. Same with 'sit'. Didn't know 'stay' or 'down'. No basic obedience behavior whatsoever. What I got for my $3,495 was 1 pet cot, 1 slip leash, 1 remote collar set and 4 cans of dog food (not a part of his regular diet). I did not get a dog that exhibited any training. Fortunately, he's still very loveable. I would not recommend Dog Dynamix for anything other than possibly boarding.

In a new environment with new distractions, he was a much more reactive and anxious dog -- barking at everyone walking by and chasing after dogs and deer. When new people would come to the door, he would aggressively bark, which would make us nervous to have strangers visit. We have completed three sessions with Michael so far, and we have noticed such an improvement! As an animal behaviorist, Michael helps you understand the emotions and reasoning behind your dog's response. We had previously completed basic dog obedience courses, and while those help with commands, Michael has taught us how to communicate better with Tucker and earn his respect and trust. While we still have work to do, he has become less reactive to people and no longer chases other animals. We can tell he is more relaxed and willing to let us take the lead -- he looks to us before reacting and is much more responsive to commands. He is just overall a happier dog! Brad's demeanor is calm, kind and caring. During these past 6 weeks not only did Brody learn but we did as well. Each area of concern that we had was addressed, training provided and follow through homework was given until our next session. We started out with very little knowledge and confidence and ended with Brody being happy and obedient. We as owners now have the tools needed to continue working with Brody, and are also more confident not only with Brody but with ourselves. They do not stand behind their claims that they can work and change the most difficult dogs. Ask them to put, in writing, exactly what to expect from you dog when he or she comes back from 3 weeks away in a trainer's home. Don't let them tell you 30 minutes, walking your dog, is part of the one hour in home training! The initial session, ok. But not each additional session, unless you feel $200/hour is worth that from the trainer. READ ON IF YOU CARE. BUT BUYER BEWARE WITH THIS COMPANY. We understand that there can be no guarantees with each dog, but we asked KoruK9 to explain exactly what we were to have expected, other than the fluff of their maketing claims. Neither Jenna, or home office coordinator, Seyonna, could give a definitive answer. The only thing our dog came home with is a new e-shock- collar (which we paid, additionally, for). Jenna sent 8 videos (maybe 12?, in 21 days) of her "training" our dog to stay on the raised mat with the "place" command. In 1 video, our dog was leashed to the fence so she could not physically leave the mat. That particular training video shows our dog continously trying to leave the mat. There was never a video showing Jenna had succeeded in instilling the behavior with her command. Our dog came home and still could not keep her "place" on the mat. Jenna suggested we must use the E-shock-collar. She warned us to be careful not to hurt the dog, and showed us the horrible burn marks on one of her own dogs. Our dog is not that difficult, but she does not get along with our other dog, and she is very aggressive with small children. Yes, a critical situation. Jenna initially told us that there are no guarantees, as each dog is different, but she was confident she could help us. She failed to tell us, at that intial meeting, that she has 2 of her own dogs would "kill each other" if left alone. When she brought our dog back, she immediately growled and pulled on leash toward our smaller dog. Jenna told us we should keep them apart, in kennels, or tied to doorknobs. Like we hadn't been doing that before $3400 and her "training"! Another of the exercises in our training experience here at home, was a 30 minute walk each of the 3 times Jenna provided "training" for our 2 dogs together. I had to pay an extra $107 for her travel to our home, as well as a training fee for our other dog . I cannot share every disappointing detail here, and I'm sure KoruK9 will have a rebuttal or refute to some of what is shared. Be aware of exactly what you want for your dog and your family, BEFORE PAYING KORU-K9 UP FRONT AND IN FULL. Ask for specific written plans from them. ASK FOR DAILY EMAILS. If you are concerned, discuss, or take dog home. Do not let them tell you they are laying a foundation, or some other fluffy, non specific nonsense.

She was a rehome situation and had been trained to use a liter box in her crate. Meghan from Training Wheels helped me train Lemon to go outside and to LOVE her crate as a safe place and not soil it. Additionally, she helped me train Lemon to be totally focused on me, even with distractions. She sits when asked, she looks to me for approval and consent, and comes when called, no matter what. She is the goodest girl now - not that she wasn't before - she is just so much better now. All of this training was done with a lot of knowledge and a lot of love from Training Wheels. I also use Training Wheels for boarding Lemon. She gets so much positive attention and interaction. I was a bit hesitant at first because there are a lot of big dogs, but the times that I have boarded her, there have been dogs her size to play with and the bigger dogs play in a different area. For sleeping, she gets her own area (with door) with plenty of space for her bed and toys and then an area for going potty, should she need to in the night (Italian Greyhounds have hamster bladders, haha). The building where she sleeps and takes naps is temperature controlled and she is surrounded by other dogs in their areas, so is never alone. There are multiple outside play areas - and they designate which areas are for which size dog, and the dogs are always supervised. Training Wheels staff are always with the dogs and interacting with the dogs. They send pics of my happy dog playing outside and running and having just the best time. I feel that my tiny dog Lemon is very safe and happy there. I can't recommend Training Wheels enough for both training and boarding. Lemon is SO well taken care of and loved.

Training Wheels gave both Oscar and I the confidence to try without fear knowing we had the tools to make it fun and how to realize if it was not. Joey set up to be a 6 week course, non-negotiable, I received 1 day of actual training. Then I received 5 "call me when puppy gets bad" sessions... Generally, its just a lack of initiative from Joey. My initial experience with Joey was great. He came by the house, gave me a background of his experience in training, he also gave me his expectations on what I needed to do as an owner. He gave me a cut dry answer of "I need your commitment to a 6 week process." Which to me sounds like theres a structured agenda in place. I expressed my person concerns with that as I believed my dog needed adjustments to our walks however, I did not feel like I needed 6 sessions at 1200$. I expressed this to Joey and he communicated that 6 weeks was minimum. First session went very well. We were able to fix the walk in one session! Truly no complaints. Second session is where problems started to show. He showed up to my house unannounced, no confirmation of meeting that day. After that sessions he wouldn't answer my texts for several months. Once I expressed my frustations he responded. At this point I felt like I had just spent $1200 on one session... I tried to get Joey on the phone to communicate things were not going as I anticipated and if I could refund as he was the one not committed to our session. The answer I received is "hey no way for refuned, but hey! you now have 5 available sessions to call me whenever we need to reset your dogs training" So we went from a structured 6 week training course to a one 2 hr training course with 5 back up sessions if I ever need it. WTF? To me this is a joke, I asked for one session and had to pay for six. I received little to no professionalism. I do genuinely feel I was ripped off for the price that was payed.
