Came here for an off season solo dinner night! It was around 6pm and the place was already packed so you know it's a good sign (for a Wednesday night). Wednesday night was also $9 sushi night. I sat at a table by the bar and took in my surroundings. There was a lot of fish/Nautical themed decorations which fit the name of the restaurant. I ordered the tempera roll and the sea bass from the fish board. When you order from the fish board the price includes the fish, spinach and mash potatoes. I first got my sushi roll. Omg presentation was great! And the roll was really delicious. I kind of got full from the roll itself. I was skeptical at first since this place was a seafood place and now they were attempting a Japanese dish but they did a really good job! I got the seabass and presentation was also beautiful. Fish was light and flaky. Cooked very well and seasoned very well. Yumm! Mash was nice and creamy. Spinach was just spinach. Very much enjoyed my meal. There was an issue with the bill at the end but the waitress was nice enough to look into it for me and resolved the issue. Would def. Come back again for another meal :) read more

We had crab cake sandwiches which were well priced and tasted delicious. I had mashed potatoes which were excellent and my mom had cole slaw which she said was very good. The inside has very cool decor and the service was good. Cool bar area and outdoor seating area as well. Was our first time there and we will definitely be back! read more

I think the tuna slices are a bit smaller than they used to be. One chip had two pieces, the others just one. Tasty but I thought the sauce was a bit overpowering for tuna. Served on a bed of seaweed salad. We shared a large Caesar salad. Chopped small pieces of romaine. I thought the Parmesan cheese and croutons were perhaps from a package? Good portion and the dressing isn't too creamy. It was Sunday, so we tried the wings. Buffalo, nice and crispy with a great hot sauce and excellent blue cheese dressing. The Gochujang sauce was much sweeter than I expected. This place is now part of the Big Fish Family so members can earn rewards points. read more

For my first time staying in Lewes for a weekend away at the beach. I've never gone alone, so this was very special. I used to bring my kids to Rehoboth every summer (hubs likes the mountains, go figure)! So glad I chose SB for my seafood dinner! Went on Sunday night at 7:00 and had their Lewes special meal, with halibut: mushrooms, tomatoes and onions in a sherry broth with spinach and mashed. Wow! What's not to like? Also it was not over salted, which is divine-I actually used their sea salt grinder, which I never do. I don't like salt instead of flavor! Loved our lunch at Stripper Bites. Was so nice coming off season as we didn't have to wait for a table. We had a crab cake sandwich which tasted incredibly fresh. It came with a nice serving of fries. The fish tacos were so delicious and flavorful. The margarita was also delicious. Plus we split the house salad which was also very nice and fresh. This was a great find for us, on a friend & family weekend in Lewes. They quickly found a perfect table for our large group, and the kids and adults were all happy with our meals and drinks. My wife and I have been coming to striper bites for the last two years. Been there 15 to 20 times over that time frame if there was 2 1/2 stars I would've given the restaurant 2 1/2 stars. My wife ordered the mahi bites as an appetizer. We left five or six pieces left because all they consisted of was fried dough Honestly. There was next to nil in the fish department and the rest of them, they were kind of tasteless I wouldn't recommend these as an appetizer. I had the seared a tuna, which was very good as an appetizer. My entree consisted of the fish tacos, which I have ordered several times. these fish tacos consisted of catfish fillets, which were minuscule. apparently they changed the fish. They used to have lightly fried cod, which was very plump and it was delicious. Catfish is cheaper than cod I won't be ordering these again either. my wife had the pokey bowl, she was pleased with this entrée. I'll go back again in a few weeks give it another shot and if it doesn't work out, there's plenty of other restaurants in town.. read more

First of all, it's shocking I haven't reviewed this restaurant yet. It is by far our favorite spot in Lewes, DE! This is home base when we head to the beach. Always great drinks and company from Todd and Garrett! The food is consistently delicious with so many tasty items. The favorites of my friends and family include: the SB House Salad, the SB House Burger and fries, their Lobster Roll, the Nor'easter (especially the crabcake), the Seared Tuna starter, the new Rockfish Burrito, the Striper Bites Club and the always yummy Blackened Tuna Pasta!!! Some people really love their sushi too! The prior owner, Matt, will be missed, as they recently sold the business to Big Fish Grill, so we're just hoping they keep everything the same. read more

Food was pretty good. The fish tacos: one had the right amount mahi and one was mostly cabbage. So one good and one a bit weak. The crab sushi was fantastic. The grilled mahi-mahi was well done but needed a sauce or something to give it more flavor. The Gouda grits were good. The kids fish and chips were a bit greasy - as one might expect. The waiter was nice enough but forgot about us and we had to chase him down and ask for him to take our order. At that point he apologized but was a bit flustered and entered our order in incorrectly. Net we waited a fair amount of time for the food to arrive. Overall I would recommend. read more

Striper Bites is a laid-back seafood restaurant that serves some of the best tasting seafood in the Lewes area. As a licensed surf fishing guide from Long Island, NY, I can say their seafood is fresh and nicely presented. I even felt at home with photos of blitzing stripers around the Montauk Lighthouse (my stomping grounds). Crab cakes were excellent, as well as their fresh mussels. Other members of our party enjoyed their halibut and salmon, etc. The service was great. We had a party of 12, and our server was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was great, a small portion of the floor is glass and you can see the wine cellar below, up high there was fish tanks in the walls, the longer you look around, the more unique things you will see. This summer, Striper Bites has become our go-to Lewes restaurant. There are no reservations, which makes it a perfect last-minute pick, and we've never had to wait more than 10 minutes. It's close to the parking lot by the bridge over the canal, which also makes it easier to find parking. We've never been disappointed by the food. The last time we were there I had fish tacos, which were a personal favorite. Their menu features lots of fish, but also has plenty of non-fish options, which makes it a good place to take visitors to the area. read more
