Sadly not a good experience at all..... we used to go to Striper Bites frequently, then stopped during covid. Looking for somewhere different my 2 friends and I decided to try for lunch today. The Good- a lovely hostess who seated us promptly. The waiter brought us water right away. The shrimp my friends got on their salads was good but very pricey. ! That's the good. We all ordered salads, 2 of us the New Burrata salad and one the House salad. The description of the Burrata salad is below. Sounds great be right ? NEW! BURRATA SALAD 15 Burrata cheese, arugula, strawberries, blueberries, roasted sunflower seeds, strawberry balsamic, cracked black pepper The salad was tasteless. The Arugula was not fresh, the Burrata was flavorless, there were 2 slices of strawberries, 2 blueberries, we couldn't see roasted sunflower seeds, the dressing was flavorless, and there was no discernible pepper. We had to get up to find waiter and ask for more dressing hoping that would help. It didn't. Same for the house salad. Flavorless. No one ever checked back, asked if the food was to our liking. We asked for the check, the waiter asked if we wanted to go boxes and we declined- a great time to ask if the meal was to our liking. Never happened. The check with tip was $27 per person, when we split the check 3 ways, for a really lousy salad and water. Sorry - I never write such negative reviews, but this was terrible. The restaurant was not busy- no excuse for this. We won't be going back. read more

We visited Striper Bites with another couple to have a relaxed meal after a day out on the boat. We were seated in the bar section and about 10 times during our meal the bar tender through bottles into a container that made a very loud crashing sound. We told our server about it and asked to speak with a manager about it, but they didn't bother. My wife and I have dined there frequently, however tonight will be the last time. All of us jumped every time a bottle was thrown in the trash. I suggest you replace your bartender that has a little respect for the customers you serve. Not happy. read more

Stripper bites as I kept calling it lol is a pub vibe place with many TVs but has huge portions and interesting seafood dishes that are delicious and fresh! My family and I sat at the bar and the bartenders kept ignoring us and serving us a group that they knew. We got the mango punch which was really good and not as expensive as other places. The hostess was really nice and got my mom crab bisque while we waited because her blood sugar was crashing. The crab bisque is a must and has a nice old bay seasoning with a lot of crab meat. We also got the nachos as an appetizer, it's huge but I wish it had more toppings. I got the lobster roll which was super fresh and barely had any filler and wasn't covered in mayo or butter, I got the grits on the side and which were also delicious! My mom got the lewes style with halibut and it was a big portion, fish was cooked well, and everything was well seasoned. My dad liked his tuna pasta. My friend got the veggie roll and said it was super bland and too sticky, so I wouldn't recommend the sushi. Our waitress was really nice and the food didn't take long to come out. read more

We stopped at Striper's for lunch and we're pleasantly surprised with the lunch menu selection. Price: there are a lot of options on the Sunday-Thursday lunch menu with most being under $16. We were happily surprised with the value, especially for seafood dishes. The lobster roll pictured was only $23 and packed with lobster meat. Taste: the club was good and the mahi mahi on it was cooked well. The fries that it came with completely lacked any seasoning. The crab nachos were a miss. These are my least favorite kind of nachos where they're just covered in shredded cheese and heated, so everything gets rubbery and stuck together. The lobster roll was delicious and didn't have any added junk. Not pictured: turkey burger with coleslaw. Coleslaw had a very odd after taste making it inedible. Crab cake sandwich and rockfish burrito were delicious. Overall, pretty good meal and we would probably try some other stuff on the menu. The nachos really knocked off 1 star and between the fries and coleslaw, that took the second one. read more

Came here for an off season solo dinner night! It was around 6pm and the place was already packed so you know it's a good sign (for a Wednesday night). Wednesday night was also $9 sushi night. I sat at a table by the bar and took in my surroundings. There was a lot of fish/Nautical themed decorations which fit the name of the restaurant. I ordered the tempera roll and the sea bass from the fish board. When you order from the fish board the price includes the fish, spinach and mash potatoes. I first got my sushi roll. Omg presentation was great! And the roll was really delicious. I kind of got full from the roll itself. I was skeptical at first since this place was a seafood place and now they were attempting a Japanese dish but they did a really good job! I got the seabass and presentation was also beautiful. Fish was light and flaky. Cooked very well and seasoned very well. Yumm! Mash was nice and creamy. Spinach was just spinach. Very much enjoyed my meal. There was an issue with the bill at the end but the waitress was nice enough to look into it for me and resolved the issue. Would def. Come back again for another meal :) read more

I think the tuna slices are a bit smaller than they used to be. One chip had two pieces, the others just one. Tasty but I thought the sauce was a bit overpowering for tuna. Served on a bed of seaweed salad. We shared a large Caesar salad. Chopped small pieces of romaine. I thought the Parmesan cheese and croutons were perhaps from a package? Good portion and the dressing isn't too creamy. It was Sunday, so we tried the wings. Buffalo, nice and crispy with a great hot sauce and excellent blue cheese dressing. The Gochujang sauce was much sweeter than I expected. This place is now part of the Big Fish Family so members can earn rewards points. read more

For my first time staying in Lewes for a weekend away at the beach. I've never gone alone, so this was very special. I used to bring my kids to Rehoboth every summer (hubs likes the mountains, go figure)! So glad I chose SB for my seafood dinner! Went on Sunday night at 7:00 and had their Lewes special meal, with halibut: mushrooms, tomatoes and onions in a sherry broth with spinach and mashed. Wow! What's not to like? Also it was not over salted, which is divine-I actually used their sea salt grinder, which I never do. I don't like salt instead of flavor! First of all, it's shocking I haven't reviewed this restaurant yet. It is by far our favorite spot in Lewes, DE! This is home base when we head to the beach. Always great drinks and company from Todd and Garrett! The food is consistently delicious with so many tasty items. The favorites of my friends and family include: the SB House Salad, the SB House Burger and fries, their Lobster Roll, the Nor'easter (especially the crabcake), the Seared Tuna starter, the new Rockfish Burrito, the Striper Bites Club and the always yummy Blackened Tuna Pasta!!! Some people really love their sushi too! The prior owner, Matt, will be missed, as they recently sold the business to Big Fish Grill, so we're just hoping they keep everything the same. read more

The grilled mahi-mahi was well done but needed a sauce or something to give it more flavor. The Gouda grits were good. The kids fish and chips were a bit greasy - as one might expect. The waiter was nice enough but forgot about us and we had to chase him down and ask for him to take our order. My wife and I have been coming to striper bites for the last two years. Been there 15 to 20 times over that time frame if there was 2 1/2 stars I would've given the restaurant 2 1/2 stars. My wife ordered the mahi bites as an appetizer. We left five or six pieces left because all they consisted of was fried dough Honestly. There was next to nil in the fish department and the rest of them, they were kind of tasteless I wouldn't recommend these as an appetizer. I had the seared a tuna, which was very good as an appetizer. My entree consisted of the fish tacos, which I have ordered several times. these fish tacos consisted of catfish fillets, which were minuscule. apparently they changed the fish. They used to have lightly fried cod, which was very plump and it was delicious. Catfish is cheaper than cod I won't be ordering these again either. my wife had the pokey bowl, she was pleased with this entrée. I'll go back again in a few weeks give it another shot and if it doesn't work out, there's plenty of other restaurants in town.. read more

Striper Bites is a laid-back seafood restaurant that serves some of the best tasting seafood in the Lewes area. As a licensed surf fishing guide from Long Island, NY, I can say their seafood is fresh and nicely presented. I even felt at home with photos of blitzing stripers around the Montauk Lighthouse (my stomping grounds). Crab cakes were excellent, as well as their fresh mussels. Other members of our party enjoyed their halibut and salmon, etc. The service was great. We had a party of 12, and our server was attentive and friendly.
