Strikes has been around for many years. The new owner of Strikes is Bowlero. It offers 50 lanes of ten pin bowling, 3 pool tables, 1 indoor shuffleboard table, and an arcade. The Bowling area has been freshly updated with new equipment, new lighting, tons of TV's, and comfortable furnishings. The Halftime Bar & Grill has been closed and turned into the pool table area. This area also holds a dance floor and bar area. This area is still under renovation for future additions. Looks like some beer brew vats are in the back now, so maybe a local brew pub is likely booting up here. Hot honey chicken sandwich was good. Friends had burgers, pizza, and wings as well. There are lemonades, sodas, wine, beer, mixed cocktails, and full bar available. Food is either available at the food bar, or delivered to the bowling lanes, or the tables by the bowling lanes. Ups; Had a great time with friends. Ambiance busy and great. The food was good. Security at the door was awesome to see, especially on a Saturday night. Be watchful of Mandatory Service Charges on food and drinks. It will affect your bill significantly. Low inventory on drinks as per bartender. On a Saturday night?? Odd. Everything I requested was not available. Only hard shots and beers. Low points; Understaffed location; Tables were full of dishes, and no one seemed to care. The bathroom was disgusting. Someone vomited in the stall, and it was not cleaned nor closed off. It was not cleaned up until someone almost fell because the floor was slippery and in shambles. It was totally disgusting. We had to literally clean off the area of the bowling location we chose. The dirty dishes were everywhere. Witnessed a lot of children sitting around the bar area. Not good. First time here and really enjoyed the experience. You can reserve lanes ahead of time online or over the phone or it's first come first serve. They do have leagues also and what I liked about this place was that leagues had their own section to use. I had never seen that before. Your pricing is based off how many players and how many games and shoe rentals. This was a nice change from hourly where you may not even get to finish your game! Drove up from Elk Grove to attend a birthday party and what a fun time we had! The birthday decor they provided was so cute (sorry no pics) but they provided light up letters to spell the birthday boy/girls name, had food and beverage stations set up upon arrival. The kids had a great time! The food provided was pizza, chicken tenders and fries and they were all great in flavor and presentation. Aside from the party food we decided to order a few apps from the bar area (Buffalo cauliflower and pretzel sticks) both weee AMAZING! And I would go back just for the bar food! $7.50 for a white claw was a little steep (but it didn't stop us from ordering 2.) The hubs and I are trying to find a hobby and found ourselves at Strikes several times this summer. It's a fun place, great music, clean areas, great service (shout out to Nicole, she is the best) but there is just one thing that kept getting in our way...the machines did not operate correctly. We had to ask for them to reset the lane over 3 times in each game. Sorry Strikes, that just takes the fun right out of it! Hire another person to make sure everything works properly! read more

Been coming here for about a year now and figured a review is past due. There's a lot to enjoy, but there are a couple things in particular that come to mind that deserve to be pointed out here. First, the new menu is refreshingly simple and much better priced. I get the Birria Tacos basically every time I come. And on top of the food, the staff is pretty great! There's a few people that come to mind like Nick, Pero, Tammy, etc, but I have to say that I really enjoy when Chandler is working the bar. She is not only one of the most attentive and kind when it comes to making sure to get everyone served, but you know that everything is going to be clean because thats seriously all she does in her downtime. No joke! The bar smells great at the end of every night she works. If I had to critique anything about the place, there's only a few main things that come to mind. I would say that the alcohol is a bit pricey, there is a lack of signs to inform people when the bar by the pool tables isn't staffed, and also it is a bit strange that the bartenders are required to prepare things like milkshakes themselves. I wish I could give 0 stars to this place. Which is an absolute shame because I rarely give bad reviews. The place has changed so much since Bowlero took over. Service is horrible, the only great people left are Scott and Tammy. There has been numerous occasions where we have gone an entire three games without receiving any service. We have had to reach out to Scott or Tammy to help us out and they apologize profoundly. The other day they overcharged me and the manager took their sweet time to fix the matter because they had more important things to do then fix his employees mistake. While bowling here, the amount of times I have overheard the staff talk negatively of their management is crazy. From the sounds of it they don't believe in their management, let alone trust them. Bowlero and the staff here have shown that league bowling is the least of their priorities. That consistent business is not part of their business models their focus is corporate business. There is a reason why a bunch of people have gone to neighboring bowling alleys to bowl instead. It's super sad because this place was aweosme to visit and hang out at! read more

I actually love it here. We had my son's birthday party here this year, and it was a wonderful experience, I love the couches, lights off, that they have a bar, friendly staff, you name it. What has my jaw on the floor is that they are now automatically charging an 18% service fee at the snack bar & bar. My $21 pizza became $26... I paid by credit card and the receipt asked for an ADDITIONAL gratuity each time (once at the bar, twice at the snack bar). I feel badly for people who are not paying attention, they probably add a tip on top of the 18% tip they sneak in. Whether or not I want to tip someone at the snack bar should be up to me. AND!!! Another new and exciting change with the new ownership, a pitcher of soda is now not one price. They ask you how many cups and if you are honest, you say the true amount and they charge five dollars per cup! I had four kids with me, the pitcher was going to be $20 which is laughable. $20 plus an 18% service fee, plus an additional gratuity ask...so we are looking at $25+ for a pitcher of Dr. Pepper!!! It's not enough for me to never come back again, it's certainly enough for me to not order food or drinks again. Visited on a Sunday evening. Half the bowling alley were rented out for parties but there was plenty of room on the other side for families. We got a lane fairly quickly and were able to order food right away, which they brought right out to our lane. There was one bartender but not too bad of a wait for beer. Our lane jammed up and it took more than five minutes for somebody to come fix it the first time then the second time they switched us to another lane and then it jammed on our last frame of our last game and we ended up just leaving. This place is really nice but for the price you pay to play, the lanes should work or be fixed quickly especially when it's not busy. read more

TLDR: A normal birthday excursion ended up being a magical night my kids won't stop talking about. Shout out to Luis!  In a million years, even if I planned it, I don't think I could EVER recreate the situation my twins have been raving about as the best day of their lives. Luis really took something I remember being casual for myself as a kid and made permanent fans of the game out of mine! Their 9th birthday was coming up (right after Valentines), but I work the day of, so I compiled a list of normal things to do in Sacramento over several days before that they might enjoy like mini golf, go kart, shopping, restaurants and, yes, bowling.  Bowling was last and supposed to be a quick casual stop before we headed home on my last day off, Valentine's. This happened to be the closest bowling alley to where we were staying, so into Maps it went. We headed in, and despite seeing SO many people, there was still decent elbow room for all. The arcade here is top notch, SO many good games, SO much for kids to do. Ours ran around and had a great time for probably half an hour. We were ready to cash out tickets and bumped into a local teen who was a regular at Strikes and had thousands of tickets...and was EAGER to share! Gave both kids a spending spree, we thought "How lucky?! A soccer AND basketball and a dozen random trinkets, nice! Can't get better than that", right? WRONG!  We say hi to Luis, he seems like a manager (or manager material) and think nothing of it. Go to sign up for an alley. Think all is good, so go to the bathroom.  A mishap happened tho, we are skipped in line and someone else gets our lane despite it only being a few minutes and assured it's ours. We assume they are just gonna sit us down for a half hour or something, but no. Luis says they are sorry and have a bday situation...but Lane 18 open.  We look around like, Lane 18? They start to lead us off, but then there is Luis AGAIN with a cookie cake thing that has 2 candles. I kid you not, he SINGS HAPPY BIRTHDAY with ONLY my husband and I to our kids! They make a wish and we take the cookie cake.... to a back party room with lanes, only us. Lane 18 was private! My kids devoured the cookie in minutes, they say 10/10! We get a server named...Nicole I think? She was very kind. She took in orders for some food and had a knack for showing up when folks need her, especially water. Thank you, Nicole! A family friend showed up too, and it was great because they also helped him find us when he couldn't find the lane. A stranger also showed up...an older lady trying to convince a family member to book a birthday in the private room because SHE ALSO had a magical experience there after renting years ago when her family was small! We told them to DEFINITELY book a family event because the customer service is 10/10! She was also so sweet, do all the best people around here just show up here cuz, wow?!  At any rate let me wrap it up. My kids don't remember anything else from that week (or just don't talk about the rest). What they remember is how amazing their time at this bowling alley was, how nice everyone was, how good the pizza and other food was, how fun it was to learn to bowl and cheer others on....so I say Core Memory Confirmed!  Thank you especially to Luis for seeing a way to make a visit here that could have been a total afterthought instead extra special EVEN on SUCH A BUSY NIGHT (cannot emphasize enough my kids are born right after a POPULAR HOLIDAY).  Every new event is now compared to this one -- we went snowboarding and when someone asked how it was they said it was almost as fun as bowling. I had to explain why, and everyone understood. Luis has a real eye for detail and I hope he's here for a LONG time because y'all got someone special on your hands! We WILL be back....next time will obviously be more normal, but hopefully another family gets this royalty treatment on a random day too, because all kids deserve at least one special day here. read more

Check your receipt after you pay for bowling! They charged us for 3 extra shoes when we clearly told them we have our own bowling shoes! I'm glad my mama always tells me to check before leaving. This place needs a serious upgrade. Ever since the new management it's been horrible. Expensive as hell, and can't even provide sand for the shuffle board which they tried to charge 15 dollars an hour. Sad. The wait was over 2 hours and we were going to wait and play shuffle board but couldn't even get anybody to help at the bar in the back. It's been like this every time. We love bowling here! Nice, clean bowling alley. We have eaten at the restaurant over the years always a good experience. The kids love the arcade area. Not sure if they only recently changed the hours but they open at 3pm now, I wish they opened at noon especially during the summer months when the kids are in summer break. We enjoyed the bowling despite having to hunt down large sized bowling balls (even though they were not very busy on a late Sunday night) the bar was meh.. they were out of multiple drinks we wanted and in the end I settled for a hard seltzer which they gave me the wrong flavor of lol and my hubby got some random drink from the menu.. for 24$ for 2 drinks I was pretty disappointed. The thing that killed me the most was the arcade.. half of the machines were out of order and the ones that were open were broken! No one was working in the arcade area either so we couldn't even tell anyone and honestly did not feel like chasing someone down. Called it a loss and went home. Been here a few times. Standard bowling alley. Food is a tad expensive so I didn't buy any and can't comment on it. The bowling alley seemed clean and there were signs saying to you must mask due to covid so i thought it'd be safe, but...after we started i noticed that it says "when you are out of your lanes, you need to mask" rather than "mask at all times indoors". There's no way those lanes are 6ft or more apart. So we felt pretty unsafe there after noticing this & were so happy we wore n95s. The balls are all arranged by weight. The 10lb ones, which i like, were hard to find bc they were at a wall away from the other weights. Overall, like the place but wish they took covid more seriously but they are in Placerville county which generally doesn't take covid seriously, so...wasn't surprised. read more

Crazy overpriced with several technical difficulties that took too much time to fix. We've been here several times but I feel like it's suddenly gone downhill. We had constant issues with our lanes (one was our fault when we got a ball stuck in the gutter) and had to find someone to help even though we had our help button pushed and waited. We had to look for help twice and then wait for someone to show up to exchange our tickets into prizes at the arcade. Our waitress was wonderful though and many of the young employees were helpful and friendly! The older man who I believe was in charge could definitely fine tune his customer service personality and manage his staff placement better. read more

This place has gone downhill. This place used to be fun, on weekends they used to have a DJ, would have videos displayed above the bowling lanes and have bowling lanes that actually worked. Last night, we had to switch bowling lanes 3 times because anytime we would bowl our scores wouldn't get tallied correct and our balls kept getting stuck. It was such an annoying night. Most of us in the group had a limited time we could be out. It took nearly two hours to complete one game, which normally would take 30 minutes. Like others in the recent months, my friends and I had a not so pleasant experience. First off, the wait to get a lane was over 90 minutes. On a Friday night, I get that. But what stood out to me was that there were close to 10 lanes that were open and unused. I went up to the counter to ask about those lanes and apparently they were reserved. My friends looked into the cost to reserve a lane to hopefully getting bowling faster, but the cost was ridiculously more expensive. So we decided to wait it out and enjoy some okay bowling alley pizza and beer. We finally get our text that our lane is ready after our 90+ minute wait, only to realize that most of those "reserved" lanes, were still empty. It used to be that when you bowled at Strikes, all of the balls were organized in stations by weight. Not the case anymore. Good luck trying to find a ball in a weight that you like, let alone one that might actually fit your fingers. A friend of mine gave up on trying to track his preferred ball weight and size and ended up getting blisters. The balls are also all different brands, so the weights and sizes were in different spots on every ball I looked at. Lastly, the racks that hold the balls are literally wedged behind a seating arrangement for whatever lane they are behind. I felt like I was crashing peoples parties to try and hunt down a ball that would work for me. So, if you don't mind over priced bowling, long waits, frustration trying to find a ball, faulty scoring, and numerous other issues...then this might be the place for you! P.S. I realize that Strikes was bought out by Bowlero, but as a patron to Strikes for many years, Bowlero is a disappointment. DO BETTER! read more

Best bowling experience I have had in my entire life! Super clean establishment, with super friendly and helpful staff! The food was pretty good, arcade was awesome and fun. We will be booking more birthdays here in the months to come! When you're there be sure to ask for Jesse for all your needs, that guy is super nice and helpful. And Dre in the food court is a great server! He actually comes out from his food counter and will go to your party directly and see if you need anything. Ivy even here several times to bowl for parties or company events or dates..each time I came it was a total different experience..an epic experience. So much fun. So much parking outside.The bar area is decent size. The arcade has all the cool games plus more. The alley in which you choose to bowl are high tech and the whole inside of building is super clean. Attended a kids birthday party here and took my 3 year old daughter who only wanted grapes and was having a meltdown. I went up to the snack bar and asked the guy for grapes he said he has to ask the chef Gabe. Gabe came out and I told him she was requesting grapes and he said there's no way to ring me up for them but he would see what he can do. I offered to give him cash he declined. Bowling was fun and great, 5-stars. Arcade also great, 5-stars. Only reason for 3 stars is their food. The photos looked great but the nachos tasted like something straight from Taco Bell and was skimpy on toppings. The garlic fries were okay but on the same level. You couldn't really taste the garlic-butter, they were pretty bland. Same with the cheesy bread sticks, they were alright but the quality was just really not good and we didn't finish any of our food. Came here for a birthday celebration. The lanes were $35 for an hour. Shoe rentals were $4 per person. They also sell socks $3 each if you forgot to bring some. We needed to pay for the lane and shoes before hand. They take down your name and call you when the lane is ready. We had an hour wait so we ordered food and ate ahead of time. I had garlic fries and pizza, both were really good. They had a live band setting up to perform. We had a great time and would definitely come back again. read more
