Thursday Line Dancing
Kellee B.

I've only been here a handful of times for line dancing classes. I appreciate a couple of things: happy hour until 7pm, huge water dispenser to quench your thirst as you shake in your boots, and the outside 2nd floor patio for breaks. Place is clean, including the bathrooms and staff is friendly.

This is a nice big space for dancing and live music. There's 2 floors. The bottom floor has a bar, karaoke, and a pool table. The top floor has a huge dance floor, a stage, seating (tables and booths), and a bar. I come here mostly for line dancing (on Thursday nights). Jen teaches beginner and intermediate classes. It's a lot of fun! The drinks sometimes taste watered down, but the food is pretty good. There's free water stands available at the bar near the dancefloor. The staff are fun and friendly. The bathroom upstairs is huge. There's several stalls, big mirriors, and an area to lounge. There's a big [free] parking lot across the street and street parking available.

Went here for the first time to watch bands play and it was a great time. Cool building. Good drinks. Great music. Will definitely go back. The bartenders were very busy and doing a great job getting drinks out for all the people who showed up.

Wow, never going back! The place could use some sound tiles and a decent sound person. It was ridiculously loud! I recorded 103dB, and no one cared about losing their hearing. My ears were ringing for days. Certain music should never drown out the vocals!

First time visit, to see a friend's R &B band, tables limited to 4 seaters although larger booths available in the back. For Bar service need to walk up to the bar, but pretty efficient wait staff, faster then I expected. It was a bit warm and they did turn on some fans in the front by the band. Decent size dance floor. Limited food items are available. We had a good time.

It was my first going and I loved every minute of it. I went for a coworkers birthday and listened to the live bands.

Is there another way to get upstairs other then the stairs ? I'm handicaped and some friends are having a birthday party coming up in Dec. Would like to attend if you are accessible. Thank You

My wife, being the supportive queen that she is, came with me. In return, I'm pretty sure I owe her a Hilary Duff concert. Sacrifices must be made for love. This was our first time at Goldfield and we honestly loved the venue. Check-in was quick and easy, and we decided to upgrade our seats to get dedicated barstools along the top rail. Best decision ever. My knees are no longer built for mosh pits. I'm pretty sure I heard them pop just watching the chaos from above. The highlight of the night was our dedicated server. I think her name was Hannah... or Ana... or something close. She was the one who checked us in and gave us the green wristbands for the barstools. Absolute rockstar. Friendly, professional, and fearless. I say fearless because she navigated through packed crowds to bring us our drinks without spilling a single drop. That deserves a gold medal. Goldfield, give her a gold star and maybe some bonus PTO. She earned it. As for the venue layout, there really isn't a bad spot in the house. I loved the two upstairs sections on both sides of the stage. Great views, great energy, and you still feel fully immersed in the show. Only heads up: the bathrooms are small, and depending on where you're standing, your journey there might require cutting straight through the mosh pit. So plan accordingly and stretch first. We'll definitely be back. Until next time, Goldfield.

Tucked behind an unassuming alley in Old Roseville sits a green door marked only with the number…read more323. No signs. No bell. No sliding peek window. No sound leaking through the walls. You'd be forgiven for thinking you were in the wrong place or about to make a mistake and put yourself into a sketchy place. We looked around for a more "realistic" entry way not knowing the most realistic entry way is one that looks like a back door to a closed vacuum or furniture storefront. That's exactly the point. You knock. Immediately, the door opens. A man in a cowboy hat looks you over. He doesn't wear a name tag. He doesn't need one. He asks, "You have something to say?" If you've done your homework, and say the right thing, the door stays open. You're in. I do not know what happens if you do not have the word. What follows is less a bar and more a pocket of time. The interior is small but well conceived. The bar sits directly at the entrance, flanked by a few standing guests and several small tables. Beyond that, the space opens up into a lounge with seating for six to eight, and a longer bench-style area for a dozen or so. The walls are dark, the lighting low. It's the kind of place that feels like it remembers what Prohibition was, even if most of us never lived it. It felt like walking onto a movie set where we might be extras, and the main characters would enter and play out a scene. It was a perfect example of a speak easy in full swing. Even the glassware was legitimate. The decor is intentional. Books tucked into corners. Stags mounted on the wall. Nothing feels store-bought or trendy. It's immersive without trying too hard. The seats were not overstuffed contemporary types nor were the tables or even foot stools. They all looked like they came from a speak easy back in the day. About the only thing that did not look like the real thing were the patrons, as they were dressed casually, and of course the iPhones. I suppose that would have caused quite a ruckus during prohibition! Conversations are constant, layered over each other and laughter. It gets loud, but not obnoxious. There's a rhythm to the space that holds. My suggestion is to not go at 7pm on a Saturday and hope to get a prized table, couch or seat. Now, to the drinks. House Divided serves anything you ask for, but they lean into the theme. Classic cocktails done right. Throwbacks with historical lean. Creative new entries like lavender martinis that aren't just gimmicks. Each drink feels made by someone who knows what they're doing and takes pride in the process. This is not vodka-soda speed bar territory. It's craft, and it shows. I did not see a bottle of ocean spray anywhere, but what I did see were large glass bottles labeled with the juice or concoction held within. The little details are obvious! If I were to translate my usual framework:    *   Ambiance and Service: 4 stars (it can get loud and if you are here to have a conversation it will be difficult)    *   Quality: 5 stars- I had a simple drink - vodka and cranberry. With something "special" that the tender added. I don't know what it was, but the taste was wonderful! Way different than my standard go to!    *   Value? That depends on whether you're measuring price per ounce, or the fact that you just got to walk through a green door into another world. But in reality, 5 stars. Do I wish for more seating? Yes. Perhaps more quiet? Yes. But if it were those things, would it be the same? No. My guess is going on a Saturday at 7pm is going to be a bit crowded, and loud. That's my fault, and testament to their quality. Next, I found the staff to be great! Even the doorman gave it character, cowboy hat and boots and all! Great experience!

Who doesn't love the idea of a speakeasy?? We decided to head to Roseville in pursuit of a secret place. We found the secret door, knocked, and a young man answered. He asked for the password. Unfortunately I am not on social media and that's where you're supposed to find it. Bummer! I decided to use my own password. It worked and we entered the inner sanctum. It was a cool, smallish place with nice decor. The bar was the first thing we saw. I looked around to see a few tables and couches to the left. It was pretty early and there were only a few people there so we got a cozy little table in front of a velvety couch. I went to the bar where a burly tattooed OG bartender greeted me. I ordered an old fashioned and a raspberry lemon drop. My old fashioned was done very well. I'm on an old fashioned kick right now and love to try them at different places that look like they know how to make them. This one was really good. My friend wasn't so keen on her lemon drop, saying the lavender was a bit overpowering. We had another round and this time she had something different that she enjoyed. My second old fashioned was just as good as the first. It was getting later and more people happened to have the password and it was getting crowded. We were done, paid the tab, which wasn't bad considering how most speakeasy's can be pretty pricy. Overall, it was a great experience, the place was nice, friendly, and the drinks were done well. Give it a shot. Find the password, or use your own if you dare!
