On our way home from Granite Bay, we decided to stop at Casa Ramos for lunch. There's a ton of parking, no wait to be seated. Perfect combo. After looking over the menu, we ordered kids bean burrito with rice and beans, green enchilada plate and a side of french fries. They bring you a basket of chips with salsa. Everything was ready quickly. Food was yum! Service was 10/10. And I love all the colors inside, especially the beautiful mural! read more

Casa Ramos in Roseville delivered another great night out. My wife had a serious craving for their Fajita Quesadilla, and it absolutely lived up to the billing. The plate was massive -- and so was the quesadilla. It came out sizzling, packed with flavor, and the side of rice and beans was just as solid. Thankfully, the portion was so generous that I was able to "hi-jack" the remaining slices. After helping her finish it off, I can confirm -- craving justified! I went with my personal favorite, the Pozole, and they nailed it. The meat chunks were tender, the broth was perfectly seasoned, and the bowl was hearty and satisfying. A winning meal all the way around. The service was great -- attentive without hovering -- and we had an endless supply of fresh chips and salsa (always a good sign!). The music was lively, the ambiance was clean and welcoming, and it made for an enjoyable evening. Casa Ramos is definitely a return location for us. Strong four stars and well earned. read more

Casa Ramos - Fajita Quesadillas-What a plate! - Mexican Near Me - Roseville, California

We were shopping in the area and craved Mexican food so here we came for lunch on a Saturday. It is located near Mikuni and next to a Cheese steak place. We walk in and were seated right away. It was not busy and only saw two other tables with people. I read the reviews that often said they were expensive. The regular stuff like tacos were comparable but what wasn't is the platters. My go-to is either steak fajitas or a carne asada and they were $27.99 and $29.99! Couldn't believe it. That is the MOST expensive I have ever seen it anywhere. Instead I got the two item combo with a chicken enchilada and a crunchy shredded beef taco. Hubs ordered the shredded beef Taquitos with rice and beans. You get free chips n salsa when you dine in. The salsa was a little chunky although reminded me of Pace Picante sauce. The food was borderline okay to good. They use a LOT of iceberg lettuce to fill up your plate to make it look like a lot. Didn't care for the rice as I felt it was dry and not flavorful but at least they make real guacamole with bits of avocado, not green goo filler. The flautas were nice and crispy. Service was almost non-existent. We waited awhile to get our order taken. Waited too long for drink refills and had to flag her down to get our check. Understandable if they were busy but they were not. Went to the bathroom and it was out of toilet paper in one stall. Solid 3 stars. Glad we tried a new place but not in a hurry to go back. read more

Husband & I came here for lunch and we had such a good experience. We both received the taco enchilada plate promptly and left soo content and full. Much to our surprise our bill was more than reasonable too. Really attentive service between the server and hostess. Will definitely be back read more

Food is excellent. Notably Chile Verde, tortilla soup and Pozole. Large facility is great for large groups. Salsa is fantastic. Service was very good. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that some menu items might be slightly above average in price (burritos) but nothing outrageous. For local Mexican overall we thought the food was excellent. read more

Casa Ramos - Mexican Near Me - Roseville, California

Located near an old shuttered movie theater, this Casa Ramos is very similar to the other locations. Not quite as good as others I've been to, but pretty close. As you walk in they've got a beautiful day of the dead mural on the wall. It's a smaller location than others we've been to as well. A tad on the expensive side, great wait staff though. Our waitress Arlene was great, stopped by the check on us frequently but not so much as to be annoying. I ordered the Macho Chile Verde burrito, and other than it being about 8 bucks more than I'm used to spending at our local shop, it was pretty solid. Would definitely have it again. Wife had a chicken taquito, which was massive compared to what was was expecting to see. Looked almost like a chimichanga it was so large. If in the area I'd definitely come back. read more

We came here late one night craving Mexican food and decided to try something different. This place did not disappoint. The atmosphere was very authentic and colorful with different artwork on the walls. When we came there was barely anyone in there so we got seated right away and ordered our food pretty quickly after looking over the menu. The menu had some amazing choices and it wasn't too overwhelming. My daughter ordered the quesadillas and said they were super moist and flavorful. My husband ordered the carne asada plate and said the same thing, he's not a huge fan of refried beans but he said these ones weren't bad. I got the burrito plate and it was huge! Very good! We also got some virgin pina coladas that were delicious. The only gripe and complaint that I had was it took a while for us to get the food even though we were the only ones in the restaurant when we ordered the food except for one other family that already had their food and by the time we got our food our plates were SUPER hot which tells me they were sitting under the heat lamps for a while. Other than that the food was pretty good. Will come back again possibly in the future if we are in the area. read more

could not have been more terrible. was not good at all. No one even checked in to see how our meal was and the meal was absolutely terrible. Came to over $150 for four people and it was the most terrible Mexican food I've ever had. Not authentic at all, Taco Bell does a better job. Over $22 Carnitas plate with one leather like strip of meat of rice and beans all spread out on a large look like it's more than it actually is. on top of it. The AC was not working well or they just didn't have it turned up and we sweated through the entire meal. I would never go here again; this was an expensive mistake. read more

Hubby and I are heading to Thunder Valley for a show and happen to drive by a different location of Casa Ramos. We were treated by Arlene. She had a smile on her face and stuck up for me when my hubby teased me about being a Mexican but not liking spicy. lol. This location is very open with a really cool Dias de Los Muertos mural on the wall. I got the chicken taquitos (my favorite) and hubby got the macho burrito with chili verde. I'm not sure if they up-charge phone orders, but 18$ for this amount of food is crazy. The item is listed as an appetizer and I was a little skeptical looking at the menu that didn't list any prices. There are other Mexican restaurants that are at a much reasonable price. read more

It's located in the same parking lot as Bennett's. The decor is nice and simple. The staff greeted us immediately when we walked in. Service was great. Our waiter was very nice, upbeat, and attentive. Chips and salsa was served as soon as we were seated. Both were good and appeared to be fresh. We ordered Palomas and Margaritas. Both were ok, nothing too fancy. The presentation was great but the drinks were a bit diluted. The Carnitas Plate with the Cilantro Rice was tasty. The Cilantro Rice is where it's at. The Carnitas was good but not the best I've had. The portion size was great. Overall, the experience was good but the food and drinks are a bit pricey for what we got. PARKING: large parking lot that's shared with other businesses. The parking lot is usually pretty full but you shouldn't have an issue finding a spot. read more

I held off writing this review of Casa Ramos in Roseville for several days. My wife and I have eaten at Casa Ramos locations in Mammoth, Placerville, Roseville, and Mount Shasta. We've stopped at the Mount Shasta restaurant more times than I can count on our drives to Klamath Falls, Bend, Portland, and Seattle, and we visited the Mammoth location when camping before it closed. After our most recent experience in Roseville, we won't be returning to any Casa Ramos again. We arrived as a party of three just after 4 p.m. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only two occupied tables. Mexican restaurants are usually upbeat and welcoming, but the atmosphere here felt sterile--not clean, but lifeless. Several tables needed bussing. Our waiter was perfunctory: menus, water, chips, salsa, and then he vanished. His expression never changed; he had the enthusiasm of someone clocking out in five minutes. Zero warmth, zero engagement. The salsa tasted like canned crushed tomatoes with limp cilantro. No chile heat, no citrus, no salt. The chips were light and crispy but saltless. I ordered the two‑item (grande) combination plate with a chicken tamal and a carnitas enchilada--carnitas for an extra $3, which is unusual since most Mexican restaurants don't upcharge for meat choices. My wife ordered the chile relleno plate. My tamal and enchilada looked tiny on the oversized plate alongside refried beans and Spanish rice. The carnitas enchilada was wrapped in a tortilla the size of one used for a street taco--the smallest enchilada I've ever been served. I asked about black beans. "No, you can't have black beans," the waiter said, even though they had been on the menu. I didn't bother arguing. Tamales are a celebratory dish--usually seven or eight inches long, corn husks hand‑spread with masa, filled generously, and wrapped with care. The Casa Ramos tamale was half that size and looked machine‑pressed. When I cut into it, the chicken was crammed into a thin 1/4‑inch strip. It was also unsalted. Honestly, if they're not going to make their own tamales, Costco sells far better ones. The refried beans and Spanish rice were also unsalted. Someone in that kitchen needs to watch *Worst Cooks in America*--the contestants at least learn to taste their food. As for my wife's chile relleno: what do you think happens to a "Poblano chile stuffed with Monterey Jack cheese, fried in a light, fluffy egg batter" after it sits in the kitchen and is likely microwaved? It becomes a tough, rubbery blob, served with the same flavorless beans and rice. Nope. We won't be back. Casa Ramos' food is bland, lifeless, and uninspired. The service is indifferent and apathetic. The interior is drab, unwelcoming, and tired. read more

The food is really good. The chips are fresh and crispy. The Queso with chorizo was delicious. I ordered a strawberry mint margarita to drink and it was tasty and fresh. Service was very friendly and chips and drinks were kept filled. read more

This is our first time to try Casa Ramos. Next time we go to Casa Ramos, we will not come hungry. We were seated right away. However, the food came out more than 40 mins after we ordered. Thought Casa Ramos in Roseville would be better than the last Mexican restaurant that was there before them. Wrong! Four of us had four different dinners and none of us liked the food at all. We ordered a Quesadilla, Borrego, Chili Colorado, and a Mucho Burrito. The food was tasteless and in huge amounts. No one needs that amount of food! I guess because the plates are so big they feel they need to fill them to the brim. It's just wasteful. The Margaritas were just so so. On a positive note the service was great! read more

Food was amazing, I'm always looking for great food along with a fantastic Margarita. I found a great combo here. Food is always super tasty, Margaritas, WELL they should come with a warning about being addictive, I'm not kidding, once you have had one of their top shelf, you will be hooked for life. We are. They always par well with the over the top friendly service. Again addictive. We go sometimes three times a week. The restaurant has a cool atmosphere, large in closed patio. They have a great selection of tequila also at a fair price. Their house top shelf Margaritas will have you also coming back, and back, and back again. We spent $160 and had an extremely disappointing experience. On all fajita plates there were only 2 strips of bell peppers and was all onions, which was not what I ordered or what was shown on the menu. When I addressed this with the manager, he was argumentative and never apologized. The only thing he responded with was if I was asking for extra bell peppers , which felt dismissive and unprofessional. This is not how customers should be treated. read more

If you like bland overpriced gringo food , this is a five star rating . Salsa was bland almost ketchup, chips were store bought . Chimichanga was tiny with no meat in it , filled with rice and beans , no taste to the chicken . Won't be back 20 bucks for the size of a Taco Bell burrito . Could be the reason it's not called Mexican food or a taqueria. read more

Had lunch there yesterday (A Monday). Food was largely flavorless and for what it was, overpriced. The lone waitress was working her ass off trying to service 5 tables but she was losing the battle. I suspect the kitchen was understaffed too as the food took way too long to arrive. I love a good Mexican restaurant but this one was not. I would have enjoyed Taco Bell more. read more

First visit to this location...as a Casa Ramos. I've been to each of the several Mexican restaurants that have occupied this building. My favorite of them is a tie between Más and La Fiesta Alteña. I've been to a Casa Ramos in the past so I was sort of glad to see one in town. This Casa Ramos location has potential, but the service fell very flat this visit. Aside from being right on top of providing and refreshing our supply of chips and salsa, everything else, service-wise, was painfully s-l-o-w. Slow to take our order. Slow to give us our bill. There really didn't seem to be a good reason for it because, while not empty, they weren't slammed either - maybe half of the tables occupied, if that. Granted, there could've been something going on behind the scenes that I wasn't aware of...I don't know..but looking around, it seemed like other tables were waiting like we were. Maybe it was because this is a new location? Could be that they need some time to work out the kinks with the service. The food...was okay. Not the best and certainly not the worse we've had. We had the chicken mole and the chile colorado/chile verde burrito combo (I don't recall the actual name from the menu). The mole was okay. I thought the bits of chicken chunks were sparsely scattered on the platter given the price...but all in all it wasn't too bad. The chile verde burrito was the star of the combo. Perfect spiced, the tender pork chunks were very flavorful. Its partner, the chile colorado burrito was just okay - the beef chunks, while being covered in the red chile sauce seemed somewhat dry and chewy. Overall: Food - 3.5 - the chile verde brought it up a full star. Service - 2.5 - slow and inattentive for the most part. Ambience - 3 - typical Mexican restaurant vibe. I'm not super happy with it. I'm not mad at it. A bit better than average. 3 stars. read more

The food was good. Serving size was appropriate. The cilantro rice was good, as were the beans. The meat serving was a bit small, and veggies were used to fill the space. Our server "got busy" helping other customers and thankfully the other staff members assisted us. So kudos on a helpful staff team. As for the drinks, they were good, not great, and they were sweet. Price point isn't great but it isn't awful. Happy hour might make it better. read more

Best Quesadilla Fajita steak! Chips and salsa are both great and homemade, and the customer service is fantastic!

We went to this location on a Sunday at about 12:30pm. The restaurant was not very busy, but we had to wait an unusually long time to be noticed, and ultimately seated. Then, waited for chips and salsa, both of which were mundane. I ordered a tostada. Husband ordered the chile relleno plate. Again we waited. When the food arrived, it looked colorful and inviting. One bite revealed the extraordinary blandness. Also had to ask for more chips and salsa twice. It was all pretty disappointing. read more
