LVP Luxury Vinyl Planks

Decided to make this review after giving our new GAIA LVP (luxury vinyl plank) flooring some years of usage. After nearly 3 years our flooring is still in great condition!!! Our installers did an amazing job and the quality is the best we have seen. Even with dogs running around there are no scratches the durability is incredible!! We chose a higher end floor but we got our moneys worth!! Our salesperson was very easy to work with. Tom the owner was a very great and attentive person through the bid process. We are extremely satisfied with Straus Carpets!

Look, new carpet!

Tom and his crew did a great job for me after a flood took out my office carpet. Great price, great service, no hassles! Install crew were amazing, prompt, professional, and very clean work. Highest recommendation!

These guys did such a incredible job. I had been waiting to switch out our gross carpets for years because I thought it was gonna be so expensive and such a hassle, but they came in at a very reasonable price and did my entire stairs and upstairs in half a day, including moving all the furniture Super professional couldn't be happier

Dining room...

Bought and had this company install carpet in my dining room 10 years ago. Furniture was clear except one cheap shelf from target that I could not remove because I just had hip surgery. I paid extra to have it moved and tipped in cash. Carpet needs to be professionally cleaned and guess what we found... They never moved the shelf. They just cut the carpet around it. Total garbage! Now we have to replace the damn carpet! I will go to a large store versus family business for now on.

I have a one bedroom apartment needing gross rugs removed and new LVP installed. I received quotes from several companies but chose to go with Straus Carpets. Tom Straus came out to measure and discuss options, he really understood what I was looking for and only needed to show me 2 samples for my decision to be made. I also got all new baseboards. They dropped off the baseboards the week prior so I could pre-paint them. Floors were installed Monday the very next week. The installers were on time and very efficient. I love the way they came out. I would highly recommend Straus Carpets for your flooring needs.

Carpeting on the stairs after install

They gave us a great deal on carpeting and the installers did a wonderful job! They did our stairs as well, with waterfall style.

We have worked with Straus carpets in the past and have always been happy with the service and product. We recently did a partial remodel of our upstairs which required us to replace our carpet and stair runner. Tom (Straus) and his team did the most incredible work! Tom was very patient helping me pick a carpet that felt elevated and more design-focused, while staying within budget. To achieve this we landed on a lower-cost Anderson Tufex in the bedrooms (Abbey Road in Fairy Wings) and a higher-end Prestige (Sonnet in Royal/Cornflower) in the hall and on the stairs. The installation was fast and easy, even with furniture in all the bedrooms. They were detail oriented, kind and hard working. I would HIGHLY recommend Straus Carpets for your home!

Hi ! I accidentally dropped my iron on rug burned the carpet and tried to fix it but nothing helped was told by carpet cleaners they are unable to help but can possibly have some one cut out the affected area and replace it that way. Can you help?

For our quote, he very thoroughly walked through our house and answered all our questions. It really helped us understand what to look out for, and how to keep our floors in good condition for the future. Not only did he do a great job refinishing the floors (see before and after photos below), he also removed a bunch of squeaks from our floors -- we didn't even know that was possible! The last thing I'll say is that Dale is an incredibly fair vendor -- we originally reached out to him for a full sanding and refinishing of our floors, thinking that was the best way to protect them long term. He took a look, told us they were in pretty good shape, and that he'd recommend a lighter refresh and seal instead -- a service that would be faster, cost us less, and would still protect our floors for the same amount of time as a full refinish. We'd highly recommend him for all your refinishing needs. Thanks again, Dale!

I dislike about 95% of the carpet out there ... but don't have the option of putting in hard floors. My pickiness was no match for Andrew, however; he helped me find that needle in the haystack. He pulled out collections that fit my criteria, throwing them on the showroom floor and having me home in on the promising ones via process of elimination. When I showed him some varieties of carpet that I liked from a company outside of The Floor Store's network, he researched them to see if their products met his standards and if working with them would go smoothly (not so much). He got an in-network vendor to send larger samples so that I could really see what various styles would look like in my home. And he walked me through the contract process step by step, making sure I understood exactly what I was signing and paying for. Once that contract was signed, everything moved quickly. Andrew checked in during installation and even humored me at the final stage, allowing me to give him a virtual tour once the carpet was laid. I would certainly recommend him and The Floor Store to anyone looking to get new hard floors or carpet. It's probably not the cheapest option, but my anecdotal evidence tells me that the service can't be beat.

I wish I got more updates during construction but they sent them whenever I asked. I liked that they were very contentious about talking with my neighbor when their van was blocking a little bit of their driveway--a lot of contractors wouldn't bother. I also had another neighbor who was causing some issues and they kept me in the loop, which I appreciated. - Price: I talked to several contractors and their price was pretty reasonable--not the lowest nor the highest, more in the middle. Cons: - After construction, I noticed some damage on parts that were supposed to be protected. They were minor damages, but annoying. The most noticeable one was a dent on my TV, which left a white dot that I see every time I turn on my TV, which sucks. - In terms of details, I noticed that there were some dings in pretty noticeable parts of the wood. I don't know if it was the crew or the wood came like that, but when I was testing a wood sample before purchasing, I hit the wood with a hammer and it didn't leave a mark, so it would take a lot of force to leave a dent like the one pictured. Kinda disappointing because the dent is smack in the middle of a high traffic area. Some last notes: - David came by to do a final walk through and helped me move some of the heavier furniture back. It didn't bother me but if you're expecting furniture to be put back the way it was originally, you'll want to manage your expectations. - You should definitely hire painters and cleaners after the construction--I didn't think the walls were going to be as scuffed up as they were. And everything will be superrrr dusty, even if it's covered. - When I expressed concern about not all baseboards being replaced, which I thought was the scope of work, he explained that he told his crew to use existing baseboards when possible. He said he did this to save me some cost and offered me $150 to cover the savings. I generally feel positive about this, although if I hadn't mentioned it I don't think it would've come up, so take that for what it's worth.

We had MSI Trecento XL Carrara Avell flooring installed throughout our home, and the finished flooring is absolutely beautiful. It has transformed our home, the new baseboards look great, and we are very happy with the overall result. The installation did take considerably longer than expected due to scheduling delays, the extensive floor preparation that was needed, and later an unexpected shortage of flooring material. The amount of dust generated during the work also made it necessary for us to stay in a hotel for 11 nights. What I especially appreciated was how Rudy handled the difficulties. He remained professional, listened to our concerns, apologized for the problems we experienced, and worked with us on compensation that covered much of our hotel expense. That willingness to listen and work toward a fair resolution made a big difference to us. Our advice to anyone planning a large flooring project would be to discuss scheduling, crew availability, dust containment, and material planning in detail beforehand. Renovations can have unexpected complications, but ultimately what matters is both the quality of the finished work and how a company responds when problems arise. We love our new floors and are very happy with how beautiful our home looks now.
