My basement flooded from a sewer backup. Insurance covered everything needed to get my boiler back up and running, including replacing it. Stratz assessed the situation. Water heater had to be replaced and the boiler could be rebuilt. Then I was told I would need a $1100 part that they deemed would not be covered by insurance because it sat high up from the water. So I asked the tech, " You are saying my boiler broke the day of the flood?" and he said "Well, yes...it sounds odd..by yeah". I told him that was ludicrous. Startz had been out 4 weeks before and said my boiler was fine. I live alone and at 70 years old, $1100 is a lot for something insurance would have paid for. So, they put the brand new part on my boiler and still it did not function. They then charge me $600 to unclog a pipe. I was told..." Yes, that is quite a coincidence your backflow part stopped working the day of the flood." . They called yesterday asking where their $1100.00 is. I am an honest person. I have good credit. I pay my bills. I am brokenhearted to be treated this way. I got a bill in the mail from them today...not a word of explanation to me. This is a horrible company. read more
