Condensation Process Air conditioners cool indoor air, which lowers its temperature. When warm, humid air passes over the cold evaporator coils, moisture condenses into water droplets. This condensation is a normal part of the cooling process. Drainage System The condensed water typically drains into a pan and is directed outside through a drain line. If the drain line is clogged or damaged, water can back up and leak into the vents. Humidity Levels High indoor humidity can increase the amount of condensation produced. If the air conditioner is not sized correctly for the space, it may struggle to remove enough moisture. Maintenance Issues Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the drainage system is clear. Dirty filters or coils can also affect the efficiency of the air conditioner, leading to excess moisture. Potential Problems Water in vents can lead to mold growth and damage to the HVAC system. It is advisable to address any water accumulation promptly to prevent further issues. Ask in AI Chat Is this helpful?
